Also the other tools work well. The only downfall is the cord is much shorter than my last Shark. My last Shark is still working, but it has been used a lot. I have two dogs, so I feel like I need to clean the floors constantly. I found that the cordless sweepers are convenient, but not very powerful. Customer Review: I’ve been using my Shark Cordless vacuum for a few months now. I still love it. I was waiting to make sure it kept working before reviewing. So far, so good. I haven’t had the best luck with the less expensive cordless vacuums. One was so hard to clean I just sent it back. Another had a problem with the rollers not spinning. I managed to keep it going for 2 years but always presented problems. This one is easy. The rollers stop the nanosecond a problem is detected and nothing has gotten wrapped up in them. This one is not so expensive that I couldn’t afford it and is what I was looking for. It seems durable and hopefully it will last more than a few years. It’s easy to use, lightweight and empties very easily. Just hold it over the garbage can and push the button. Nice. It’s also easy to charge. I just plug it in next to a wall and let it charge. My only complaint is actually that the charge barely lasts long enough. I have 1204 sq. ft. on 3 levels. I use a larger, corded vacuum for the top level that has 2 carpeted bedrooms. So, I’m only vacuuming the hard floors on the 2nd level (with some throw rugs) and the carpeted living room on the ground floor. Also 18 total carpeted steps. So, I wish the charge would last another 10-15 minutes for a more complete job. That said, it works so well, that I’m still very happy. The best part is that it’s small enough and light enough to make cleaning the stairs a lot less of a chore than with a full-sized regular vacuum. The rollers pull strongly and the suction is quite adequate. Not overwhelmingly so but does the job. Customer Review: As a disclaimer, our home is 1700ft2, and about 2/3 of it is carpeted. The vacuum works phenomenal on the regular carpeting and hardwood in the house, but struggles a little bit with the wool area rug. The variety of ways this vacuum can be assembled makes it extremely versatile. For example, using the regular brush roll head while removing the extension works wonders on the carpeted stairs. The short “handheld” version with the scraper does great on the couch. And the extension, with the small ended nozzle, works great for after the initial vacuuming, getting all the dirt along the edges of the rooms and furniture. It lays down almost flat, so getting under things like the dog food bowls, the couch, the dining room table etc are a breeze. So the reason I made the title the way it is, is related to battery life. To realistically clean our first floor (mostly hardwood/tile + wool rug) and the second floor (totally carpeted) will eat up the entire battery. The battery is NOT fast to charge. The runtime is based I believe on the vacuum running in “handheld mode” (aka without the brush head). So, if you’re home is over 1500ft2 and mostly carpeted, you’re going to have to throw it on the charger for a while most likely. I think it would greatly benefit Shark to come up with swappable batteries, think Milwaukee or DeWalt style. If you’re handy you can do this yourself, but it would greatly benefit the company to have a proprietary design for this. Another con, though I hesitate to call it a con based on the portability of this vacuum, is the power. As mentioned, it does great on our regular carpeting, but just isn’t as good as the corded Shark we’ve had for almost 10 years. This is to be expected as the motor in the corded vac draws significantly more power than the cordless battery version, but still worth mentioning. The vacuum is very light and easy to use. The blue light on the front of the roller head is AWESOME, and will show every spec of dirt on any uncarpeted surface. Overall, for the sale price we got it at (I want to say between $175-225, can’t remember exactly) it has been excellent. Customer Review: I’ve had this for about 3 months, I have multiple little kids under the age of 8 and a golden retriever, and our backyard is dirt. We just install new tile but it is dark and shows EVERYTHING, and finding the time to keep it clean was beginning to feel like a never ending chore/nightmare. This thing is worth it and it works! I do have some tips for those who said it leaves streaking, so check that out below. I would have maybe given it 4.5 stars because I feel the cleaning solution could be a little stronger, but it is still so effective I don’t think it’s worth subtracting stars from the review. And my tips help that out a lot: 1. Use more soap (I found using 2-3 times the recommended amount works for us and leaves less streaking and residue. They don’t recommend using much so it doesn’t affect how quickly the bottle goes. And fortunately the refill bottle is 5x bigger than the small one that comes with the vacuum so it’s still price effective). 2. Replace the roller. Because we have such heavy duty cleaning that needs to be done, i plan to replace the roller at least every other month, although maybe I should replace it once a month I am just being cheap. Ordering replacement rollers is easy though! 3. Go over the same spot more than once. It’s like a regular mop, you can’t pass over things once and expect it to get perfectly clean. But 2-3 passes is usually sufficient. 4. Put it on the charging dock for self cleaning between rooms. Again, like a regular mop that needs rinsing every few feet, except this doesn’t need as much as that. But between cleaning rooms I’ll have it self clean, if the floors are especially dirty. And that seems to make a huge difference. 5. Occasionally when I want a deep clean, I “pre spray” the tile with Odoban tile cleaner (the blue packaged one) in an industrial spray bottle and then go over that with the Dreame. I know it says to never use another type of cleaner so this is my compromise if I want a super deep clean after I haven’t cleaned in several days. It seems to be fine, I have only done that twice though. And I have to empty the dirty water more often during the cleaning but otherwise doesn’t seem to affect the machine if I do that way. Some other notes: battery is great. We have a 2050sqft home and even on days when I am mop vaccing everything it’s only ever gotten down to 40% so the battery lasts a great long time! If you forget to empty the dirty water tank it will start to smell. But it’s easy to empty and clean. I usually have it run the self clean cycle twice once I am completely done (again because we have so much dirt it needs to clean). It will still occasionally leave a streak, even after I have done all of this. But I think I only notice it because our tile is so dark. If it wasn’t for that I would not see it, and it leaves no residue, floors so clean and nice afterwards. Because I can use it every day, I don’t mind an occasional streak for having otherwise spotless floors! It’s worth the money in my opinion, I’m curious to see how long the life of the machine actually is with all the hard work it has to do at our house. But if it only lasted a year I would still consider it worth it for our personal sanity and home hygiene!

It has gotten clogged at the base a few times but I think that was more from vacuuming up food that got stuck over time, and then it’s really easy to unclog it. One of the parts that connects to the main stick did break after four years, but that might be more from quickly dropping it to snatch my toddler up from getting into something. We were happy with it so it was an easy decision to buy the same one four years later.

Customer Review: This is by far the best purchase I’ve made this year. We replaced our cordless Dyson with this because the Dyson started falling apart after about 8 months. Every time we’d vacuum with it, we’d lift the vacuum off the floor to empty it into the trash can and everything we just vacuumed would fall out of the brushes, even after cleaning the vacuum and checking for clogs. This Shark does everything we wished the Dyson would’ve done. Against edges, it automatically powers up and sucks harder to suck things from under the baseboards. Going from hardwood to carpet is amazing. No switching heads like the Dyson. It automatically engages the rollers down on carpet and sucks much harder. Back to hardwood it automatically knows and goes back to hardwood/tile mode. Dust debris started to build up a bit in the dust bin on the Shark, but taking it apart and washing it is so easy. The weight of the vacuum is very light and easy to manage, but still has a very sturdy, strong feel. The automatic emptying design is the best I’ve ever seen. The battery life is awesome. It doesn’t even use 1/4 of the battery when we vacuum our 2200 sf home. The way it doesn’t clog with pet hair is the best designs we’ve used. Never a clog and we vacuum a ton of dog hair from our yellow lab everyday. I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone that’s nervous about switching brands. Customer Review: I did a lot of research before buying this and glad I did. It’s my first cordless and, maybe I just got lucky but I couldn’t be happier with it. It has plenty of suction power. You name it and it sucks it up from cat hair to kibble, cheerios to rice. It has a sensor that “knows” when it’s on carpet and automatically the vacuum increases power. Then when it gets on vinyl/smooth flooring it knows and and automatically lowers the power a bit but still easily sucks up everything without flinging it back. It also has sensors and knows when you get close to a wall and automatically increases power so it gets everything close to the wall. The other thing it has sensor(s) for is that it “knows” is when it is sucking up more dirt in a particular spot and so also speeds up to be sure it gets it all. All that speeding up when needed and then slowing down, is to save battery power without sacrificing cleaning. I’ve run it for about 30 minutes in that “auto” mode and still had a little bit of battery power left. You can manually set it to a constant low or high power but I’ve left it on the middle, automatic power detect setting and let it decide how much power to use and when to use it (or not). It does such a good job on that setting that I see no reason to change it. I suspect on a constant high setting your battery would run out of juice pretty quickly, probably in 15 minutes or so. I also find that I use the flex wand more than I thought I would. Great for getting under beds or whatever without bending over so much to do so. When you’re finished vacuuming, just stick it on the docking station and the docking station sucks out the dirt from the vacuum cleaner and puts that dirt in a docking station container. When docked, it also recharges the battery. That dock station container holds a lot so you don’t need to empty it very often maybe once a month or so, if that much depending on your situation. When you do need to empty the docking station container, it easily disconnects from the docking station with one hand. Take the container and hold it over garbage can, push a lever and the bottom opens up and dumps everything in garbage can. I wish it came with more attachments. Mine came with two and neither had a brush which I really would like to have. I also wish there was some onboard way to carry one or more of the attachments on the vacuum itself. I knew these things weren’t including when I bought it so no stars off.

The lift away is great for blinds, curtains, overhead vents, et al. Another great feature is the three position power switch: 1) off, 2) on/suction only, and 3) on/suction and brush. The suction only is particularly useful if you are vacuuming an uncarpeted hardwood, or tile floor. I’ve been hard on vacuums in the past and gone through some highly rated models but I feel like this Shark model might actually go the distance.

I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! I’m able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it’s lightweight. I’m not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It’s really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It’s harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I’m very impressed! Customer Review: After recently installing new hard floors throughout most of our home, I was searching for a lightweight vacuum that would clean both the hard floors and area rugs. I never thought that I would ever say that I now enjoying vacuuming, but this Shark Rocket Ultra-Light stick vac has been a real changer. It has great suction and the swivel head makes it so easy to go under furniture, around and through dining table/chair legs and along baseboards. This is the first vac that gets squarely into the corners under the kitchen cabinets. The vac is super simple to assemble is less than a minute, to empty the dirt cup, put on attachments to sweep air duct grilles, refrigerator grilles, ceiling corners or wherever. It is also so lightweight that it is no big deal to carry up and down stairs for multi-level cleaning. In fact, our basement is finished and has carpeted floors, and this little gem thoroughly sweeps the carpet. I love this vac so much that I just gave one to my daughter as a birthday gift. Be sure to order some extra filters to have on hand when you clean the one that comes with the unit. That way, you’ll be able to vac when you need to without having to wait for the filter to dry. The only cons for this unit is that with the location of the unit’s cord, you have to drag that around with you to empty the dirt cup and that it is top heavy and doesn’t stand on it’s own. However, those are negligible given the suction, maneuverability and lightweight design. Highly, highly recommend!

Customer Review: For decades I have had a wall vacuum unit and I thought it was just okay. Recently the brush head broke and I came onto Amazon to price a replacement. Over a hundred dollars just for the brush head unit! Since I was never in love with the system I started pricing Dysons…all but the cheapest unit was out of my price range and I wasn’t overly impressed with the reviews. So I headed over to the Shark reviews, looked at the various units and found I could get a nice unit for about $50 more than the replacement part for my wall system. Easy to assemble in a minute or so, easy to understand how to use…nice accessories. Since I was in the kitchen when I was putting it together, I decided to try it out first on an area rug my dog lays on (he’s a short haired breed). The rug was about 2×4 no big area here…to say I was impressed was an understatement…I was shocked at the amount of dust and hair the unit picked up effortlessly…actually it was kinda creepy to know all that dirt was in that little rug, it filled the cup about halfway! I put on the floor dusting attachment and finished the kitchen, the cup is now full. Easy enough to empty the cup, I didn’t understand all the whining about this feature in the reviews. Moved onto the dining room, nearly filled the cup again in just that room and it had been recently vacuumed. Moved onto the living room and got about 75% of it done before I had to find a new outlet, I was plugged into the kitchen and I have a big house over 2000 square feet! Filled the cup again and…maybe it was my imagination but my bare feet on the carpet felt cleaner. Easy to maneuver, you don’t have to push it, it self propels forward saving a lot of backache. The other attachments were pretty much what you get with all other units with the exception of the mini ones that can clean you keyboard…I think it might suck up my laptop it’s so powerful, I haven’t used it yet so I can’t comment. Used it some more the next day on more floors and bedroom carpets and was shocked at the amount of dust and hair in the cup. As far as how long the unit will last…for the price if it only lasts until the 5 year warranty runs out I will be happy, I’ve spent a whole lot more on units that only had a fraction of the cleaning power that this baby holds.
