Then a Husky who’s sole purpose in life is to shed and a black English lab. After vacuuming the house with the former vacuums I would have to get scissors out and cut the wrapped girls hair off the brush. Not a pleasant job but a must. This new vacuum has rubber wipes on it along with a brush. No real beater bar that actually damages your carpet. It is absolutely amazing how well it works. Customer Review: We have had the Shark Navigator for so years or so. It is still running fine but we moved it upstairs to not have to be carrying one up and down to clean. The new one is better than the basic model we had. It has unbelievable suction and cleans wonderfully. It is a bit harder to move and is a bit noisier. Perhaps because it is so new and needs to break in. I think the noise is from the self cleaning on the roller. However with two dogs and long haired women it is worth it. Highly recommend. Customer Review: WOW!! I had a Shark Navigator Lift-a-way, and after 15 years of faithful service, the hose tore and duct tape didnt work. This Shark is AMAZING. SUPER STRONG SUCTION. I had to back the suction off a bit (easy to access, just like the old Shark. PERFECT! I used it on my carpeted steps. Perfect! The attachment for steps is not motorized and actually does a better job than the old Shark. Now I wont hate doing steps!!! I used it on my smooth kitchen floor….works great. GREAT VACUUM!! Also the other tools work well. The only downfall is the cord is much shorter than my last Shark. My last Shark is still working, but it has been used a lot. Customer Review: I’ve never taken the time to write a review before but I decided I needed to for this vacuum. To start, I hate cleaning, period. When the vacuum arrived I was excited because it’s something shiny and new for the house. The box was in great condition and it was a speedy delivery. I opened the box and everything was individually wrapped. I started unwrapping and didn’t even look at the instructions to put it together because it was that easy. In the box along with the vacuum we’re the crevice tool, the dusting brush, the straight suction floor nozzle and the upholstery tool. The straight suction floor nozzle fits all the way under my couch and my recliner which makes it much easier to clean. Second, my one year old son is deathly afraid of vacuums and when I turned this on he didn’t even flinch. He just sat there and watched it because it’s not super noisy like most vacuums. Third, I have mostly hard floors and only two carpeted rooms… I started vacuuming with the brush roll off and was just absolutely amazed by what it picked up… This vacuum picked up all the dirt and crumbs… I went ahead and vacuumed the living room, dining room and kitchen with no problems. I looked at the dirt on the floor of the mud room from everyone walking in and out and then looked at the vacuum and continued on and it picked up all of it no problem. I went to empty it and there is a latch at the bottom and top of the dirt compartment which made it so much easier to empty and I didn’t have to get my hands dirty. After that I turned the brush roll on and went to vacuum the two carpeted bedrooms (which had been vacuumed the night before) and to my surprise it picked up so much. I thought the carpets were clean but on no, the shark rotator changed my mind about that one! By the time I was done the dust cup was about half full. My old vacuum definitely wasn’t doing the job correctly. Finally, the vacuum basically pulls it’s self along the carpet so I didn’t have to fight with it to move or turn because it goes so easily. With this vacuum I don’t have to work to clean my floors and it’s a whole new type of clean in my house. It takes maybe 20 minutes to do my entire house which is astonishing. Before it would take me 40 minutes with sweeping and wrenching my old vacuum across the floor. Thank god for someone recommending this vacuum for us. Customer Review: Having grown frustrated with myself for only finding time and motivation to write a review when I’m disappointed with something, I wanted to seize this opportunity to sing the praises of this remarkable machine!! We bought this vacuum to replace an Oreck Touch which had failed… I’ve always regarded Oreck as a ‘top shelf’ product, and heard good things about their customer service — while I’ve always perceived Shark to be a cheaply made, lower-end product… I have been proven profoundly wrong on both counts! THIS vacuum is proving a wonderful contrast! Last night I was using the wand to reach some dust-bunnies behind the toilet and inadvertently sucked up one of those protective plastic caps… Following the suction path through the hoses and ‘elbows’, etc, I came up empty — until I finally noticed the cap reposing in the dust container, ‘comfortably’ nestled into the dust and dog hair! THAT truly impressed me! Additionally, the headlights on the base are both well placed and bright enough to be of real use! The easily detachable wand makes grabbing debris behind dresser legs, etc a breeze. The ability to detach the handle portion of the hose FROM the wand makes use of the brush attachment quick and easy. Lamp shades and bases etc are receiving far more frequent attention because this is so much easier! Oh, and it’s SO much quieter than I’ve grown to expect! The dust container is easy to remove and empty. Opening at both ends, there are no cavities where hair can get trapped. Every time I empty this, I am so pleased with how simple, quick and relatively clean the task is! The “Lift Away” feature is a real bonus. So far, the only “con” I can think of is that the canister portion of the vacuum is bulky enough to prevent it from reaching very far under furniture… Given all the other upsides there are though, that seems a pretty small downside. So congratulations Shark! You’re really changed my mind! I never thought I’d find myself gushing with enthusiasm over one of your products. But I’m really enjoying using this. Customer Review: Where to start? I have 4 dogs. Enough said. Cleaning my carpets is a pretty regular chore for me each month. I have always been loyal to one brand… It has nothing to do with brand or quality, but because I use the Hell out of them. 12 year old boxer just started a new medicine. It’s been rough getting his tummy to adjust. In one night we accumulated 9 vomit stains… I got about 1/3 of just my room done before my trusty 3 year old machine just stopped. Amazon overnight to the rescue!! I never owned a Shark brand shampooer. Like I said, I was total brand snob. But this machine was 100 bucks less than replacing my old machine. The reviews looked good. And at the price point if 150, even it it only lasts me a year, I would be getting my money worth. LOOOOOVE IT!! I almost hate to admit it, but I think this may be my new brand. Pros: This machine is light weight. Easy to push/pull. I appreciate having the option to do a quick dry. Low profile so I can get under my nightstands. Thick brushes that seem to get a deep scrub, and not just surface spots. Like how there is no trigger to squeeze to dispense solution water. It’s a simple push forward to spray and pull back to suck up the water. The solution that came with the cleaner did a great job and each stain only needed a couple passes. Taking apart the machine to clean the filter and brush was easy because everything is accessible. Now the cons: small tank. May not be a deal breaker for most. But I gotta be honest, this part was almost annoying. The clean water and the dirty water tank is about half the size of my old machine. I knew that when I purchased it, and thought as long as it does a great job, I’ll get over it. Ugh, I’m sure I will in time. Customer Review: This light-weight carpet shampooer does a great job cleaning area rugs. It cleans like a champ, it’s easy to maneuver, the tanks are easily removed and reattached, the cleaning head effortlessly disassembles for cleanup. It’s light and small enough to carry in one handed upstairs and isn’t a struggle to use. We have hardwood floors with three Persian-style rugs (knock-offs made in Belgium) that were last cleaned by our ancient Bissel shampooer. The little Shark picked up loads of old dirt and left the rugs looking bright and new. It also efficiently removed moisture from the rugs after shampooing, which reduced drying time (over night for us). The downside – This shampooer is NOT for vast, wall-to-wall cleaning. The tanks for cleaning solution and waste water are not large enought for big jobs. BUT, if you don’t mind emptying and refilling the tanks frequently, this shampooer is a great deal. It also doesn’t have any upholstry cleaning attachments. Note – use ‘Shark cleaning concentrate’ in the machine. I tried our old shampooer’s cleaning solution and created a storm of soap bubbles. The Shark concentrate is formulated specially for their machine….it comes with a small sample bottle. If your home has pets, messy children, or sloppy old men in the house (like me), this shampooer is perfect for spot cleaning. It also might work best for condo owners, apartment renters, or on area rugs like ours.
