Customer Review: “I looked at lots of vacuums and read lots of reviews. This Eureka PowerSpeed NEU 180 sounded good, with lots of great reviews. I need something that will take care of pet hair (dog and a cat) and be simple to use and empty, and not require replaceable filters.A lot of reviewers showed how much hair the vac got up after using their old vacuum first. They were not kidding! I ran the Eureka over a short nap carpet about 15 x 15 feet, and the dust bin was nearly full of hair and dirt. it had only been a couple of days since I vacuumed with my old Rainbow. I am amazed! This thing is light and easy to maneuver, gets under the toe space and under the edges of furniture easily. It cleans right to the edge. Unlike any vacuum I ever had before, this is NOT noisy. I always wore hearing protectors with the old ones, and don’t even need them with this Not loud or obnoxious at all.The ease of dumping the dust bin is a big thing for me. I hesitated to use the Rainbow because you have to fill it with water, then find a place to dump the water/dirt/hair sludge. Then rinse and clean the cannister. My old Filter Queen used paper filters that need to be changed, and it was a nasty dusty mess to empty. Also very heavy. Also expensive: I paid something like $450 for that think way back in 1972!The new Eureka Was $78. Both the Filter Queen and Rainbow were getting problems, but still worked. I also have a Dirt Devil I bought years ago and used about twice and hated. (Want them? Come and get ’em for FREE.)I can’t find anything negative about the Eureka. I am looking forward to vacuuming the rest of the house and picking up a bushel of pet hair.Some notes on things previous reviewers complained about:Some folks talked about the hole in the end of the handle, and that the hose was too short. They must not have gotten the instructions with theirs. The handle doubles as a wand that extends the hose so you can reach furniture, drapes, etc. The Owner’s Use Manual that came with mine is great. Well Illustrated, thorough, and easy to understand. Another plus.Several people said the height adjustment did not work, and it either was too low and burned the carpet, or too high and wouldn’t clean. I checked min before using it, and the height adjustment wheels were indeed stuck and would not lower when you turned the knob. I called Customer Service right away. Got a person quickly who was very helpful. While she was taking my information, I kept fiddling with the height rollers, and it started working! I am not mechanically illiterate, but do not know why it unstuck or what was holding it to begin with. So, it works fine. I did find that Customer Service was very responsive.I will update this review if anything changes or problems arise.Maybe it is kind of sad that at this stage in life I get excited about a new vacuum (smile) but it is a real treat to find a great product at a great price that really works!”

Customer Review: “I’ve had this little shark vacuum cleaner for almost 2 years and I fall in love again and again, every time I use it. This little vacuum cleaner not only is lightweight but super powerful and gets everything. AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!! I live in a smaller apartment but I have 2 dogs a cat and 4 ferrets, all of them love to shed everywhere, but this vacuum cleaner gets all of it. There’s been a couple times that it would get clogged, but that was mainly user error and once I cleaned it out and did a little bit of maintenance, it worked wonderfully again. The cord length is perfect for each room with extra to spare and considering how much I paid for this vacuum, I’m definitely getting my money’s worth plus some. This vacuum has 2 filters which I didn’t realize when I first started using it. And so when I finally realized that it had 2 filters, they were definitely very dirty when I cleaned them out for the first time. But after cleaning them out, it works like new. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly vacuum cleaner, that is powerful and easy to use this is the one for you.”

This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you’re wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! I’m able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it’s lightweight. I’m not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It’s really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It’s harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I’m very impressed! I was not expecting too much from this for $85 and I was looking at the Shark model like this one and noticed this one has 600 watts of power where the Shark has 500. There was not much difference except this one is $100 cheaper, so I gave it a go. Of course, as soon as it came, I had to try it out, I am like a kid at Christmas. The suction is amazing, sometimes too amazing on very thin carpet with no padding, lol. I am really, really happy with this, and if it lasts me a year, I will have gotten my money’s worth. Also, I love the little notes and reassurances from manufacturer on standing behind their product if anything does go wrong, fingers crossed. Only bad thing, it doesn’t really like to stand up by itself, which is really not that big of a deal for me, so I just lay it on something, so I don’t have to constantly bend to get it off the floor. It is very light which is great for people with arthritis in their hands, it swivels great, cord length is never long enough for me, but is 23 ft. I don’t know about durability yet, I’ve only had it for a day. But I already Love it!!!”

Hair gets twisted around roller and its nearly impossible to get free so then roller won’t spin which means its useless!Not many corded stick vacuums out there so went with this 1. It works well, has a very bright light. Design does have some flaws- the cord placement makes it difficult to empty, the filter needs alot of attention, biggest flaw is that its almost entirely made of plastic! I had a huge issue but reached out to seller per messaging and they handled the problem quickly. Still don’t know what type of manufacturer warranty comes with this vacuum and I hope this replacement last longer.”

Bear in mains that this is not a self propelled model. We tried bleeding off suction, and that did not work. We ended up calling Shark customer service and we were told that this model had a reputation of being hard to push on carpet. Wish we had known this information before we bought one. The only negative is that it will not stand up on it’s own, unless you lean it against a wall. That is a small thing and something we can easily live with.It does have a small container for debris, but emptying it is easy.The suction is good.
