Our Top 10 Best Shark Robot Vacuum And Mop Reviews – Expert Tested & Recommended
1. Shark AV2800ZEBK Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo
This flagship Shark model represents the pinnacle of their current robot vacuum and mop technology. It’s designed for ultimate convenience with a comprehensive self-maintenance system that handles debris, water, and even mop cleaning and drying automatically. For anyone seeking a truly set-and-forget cleaning solution for a whole home with mixed flooring, this is the top-tier contender.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ Complete Self-Maintenance Base: Automatically empties debris (60-day capacity), refills the water tank, washes the mop pad with water, and dries it with hot air.
- ✓ PowerDetect Technologies: Five intelligent systems target hidden debris, stuck-on stains, edges, and optimize cleaning paths for better coverage.
- ✓ NeverStuck Technology: Lifts itself over obstacles and thresholds, ensuring it doesn’t get bogged down by transition strips or small thresholds.
- ✓ Matrix Clean Navigation: Uses a precise grid pattern for multiple passes over areas, claiming up to 2X better cleaning coverage.
- ✓ HEPA Filtration: Captures allergens and fine dust, a crucial feature for allergy sufferers.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the AV2800ZEBK for homeowners who want to minimize manual intervention to an absolute minimum. The combination of a 60-day debris capacity and a 30-day water/cleaning solution capacity means you might only need to interact with the base once a month. The heated mop washing and drying is a game-changer for hygiene and preventing mildew smells on the pad. It’s the most autonomous Shark robot available.
Best For
Large homes with multiple room types (carpet, hard floors, rugs), pet owners dealing with heavy shedding, and anyone who values convenience over a lower upfront cost. It’s for the user who wants to program a schedule and forget about floor cleaning for weeks.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Unmatched hands-free convenience with full self-cleaning and drying base.
- Excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance with NeverStuck technology.
- Powerful suction on both carpets and hard floors.
- Superior mopping with scrubbing action and heated wash/dry cycle.
- Large debris and water capacities reduce maintenance frequency.
Cons:
- Premium price point is significantly higher than other Shark models.
- The base unit is quite large and requires ample space.
- Some users note the mopping can leave floors slightly wetter than ideal on first passes.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: We live on a ranch and have a corgi and toy aussie that live inside. This vacuum has been a game changer!!! The amount of hair alone that it picks up every day is enough to make another dog!!! Even after running once, I could feel the difference in our home. I will definitely be replacing it the second before it dies!!!One thing you should know. It doesn’t like the bigger rocks that come off your shoes. It will “poop” out piles of gravel. The mop is great for keeping dust and little spots cleaned up but it is not for deep cleaning. Our mud room still needs a person to attend it sometimes but overall we love this thing!!!!
Customer Review: Overall, this Shark robot vacuum and mop is just okay for the price. I already own a much less expensive off-brand robot vacuum, and in terms of vacuuming performance, this one performs similarly despite costing significantly more.In some cases the cheaper one does even better. One feature I do appreciate is the self-emptying base, which means I don’t have to empty the dust bin as often. When it empties itself, the odor neutralizer/air freshener is a nice touch. Navigation is another strong point — it handles raised floor vents and thresholds very well and doesn’t get stuck easily. Battery life has also been very good so far.The app is usable, but I don’t see an option to schedule or select multiple vacuum passes, which is something I rely on since robot vacuums often miss spots on a single pass. The mopping function is my biggest disappointment. It mostly feels like it’s just dragging a wet pad across the floor. It leaves the floors too wet, which increases drying time, and the results aren’t as good as I expected. While the robot does attempt to dry its own mop pad afterward, the fan runs for a very long time, creating a constant hum, and the pad is still damp at the end. I end up removing it and drying it manually anyway. The robot itself looks very sleek and modern, and the base has a clean, streamlined design that doesn’t look out of place in a living space. So far, it feels well-built and durable. It has handled thresholds, vents, and regular use without any issues, and nothing feels flimsy or cheaply made.In short, this is a solid vacuum with good navigation and battery life, but the mopping performance and price point make it harder to justify compared to less expensive alternatives. An important note- this vacuum is for maintenance only between cleanings. It does not replace a good stand up vacuum, a mop, and some elbow grease.
2. Shark AV2810ZEWH Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo
This model is essentially the same core technology as our Best Choice, the AV2800ZEBK, but often comes in different color finishes (like white) and may have minor bundle variations. It delivers the same exceptional PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro performance with the self-emptying, self-refilling, and self-cleaning base. It’s our Editor’s Choice for offering the same top-tier Shark experience, sometimes at a slightly different price point or aesthetic.

- ✓ PowerDetect Cleaning Technologies: The same five intelligent systems for debris, stains, edges, and coverage.

The performance is identical to the AV2800ZEBK, so you’re not sacrificing any core functionality. It represents the peak of Shark’s 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop engineering.

- Outstanding suction and scrubbing mopping performance.
- Excellent navigation and smart mapping capabilities.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: This thing sucks. The app is clunky. The thing gets stuck on nothing and just stops. At the same time, it will just run over anything and everything and tear stuff up. A Roomba actually uses its cameras and sensors to avoid running over things. The shark’s mapping is also awful. I don’t have anything positive to say about this dumb thing.
Customer Review: I love love love my shark vacc mop . I have had my regular shark vacuum for about 6yrs , I had two, one for my kitchen living room open area. The other for my bedroom that is huge and a step down from the rest of house. So just bought me the vacc mop , I love it , always buy shark no need for other. Great investment. Noe I will give my vacc to my daughter and the other to my mother so I can get me another vacc mop for bedroom. Just maintain as asked and will last a very long time. Easy to setup, connected quickly to WiFi , the schedule is perfect , starts up everyday at 8am vacuuming and mopping my house in under 2hrs. I have 3 schnauzer, they don’t she’d much but they bring in dirt and grass from outside , the vacuum picks everything up. The functionality is great. 2 thumbs up……

It includes the essential Matrix Clean navigation and Sonic Mopping technology, paired with a self-emptying base that holds debris for up to 60 days. While it lacks the full self-cleaning mop base of the premium models, it offers exceptional value for those wanting a powerful, mapping robot with mopping capabilities.

Why We Recommend It
We recommend the AV2610WA as the best value Shark robot vacuum and mop. It delivers the critical cleaning technologies—Matrix Clean and Sonic Mopping—that define Shark’s performance, without the premium cost of the full NeverTouch Pro base. The 60-day self-empty base is a massive upgrade over non-self-emptying models, drastically reducing maintenance.
Best For
Budget-conscious buyers who still want a high-performing, mapping robot with effective mopping. Ideal for homes primarily with hard floors and low-pile rugs, and for pet owners who need strong suction but can manage the mop pad manually.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent price-to-performance ratio for a self-emptying, mopping robot.
- Matrix Clean navigation provides thorough, systematic coverage.
- Strong suction power on both carpets and hard floors.
- User-friendly app with mapping and zone control.
- CleanEdge feature does a great job along baseboards.
Cons:
- The mop pad must be manually removed, washed, and reattached; no self-cleaning.
- Water tank is smaller than on premium models, requiring more frequent refills for large jobs.
- May struggle with very high-pile rugs or thick thresholds.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: The one word to describe this product is “AMAZING!!”. We keep a very clean house but this Sharp Robot Vacuum & Mop is simply amazing and it will literally go everywhere like completely under all the beds, under couches, dining room tables, under China cabinets and into the most tiny nooks which used to be a pain to manually vacuum. When I say “go under”, I mean thoroughly clean as if you were on your hands and knees hand vacuuming the floor or hand mopping the floor right up to the baseboards. To do this good of a cleaning, with a manual vacuum, would mean moving the beds and couches and moving all the chairs out from your tables. Do you remember how hard and tiring that is? To do all that in a 2,500 sqft home, would take 2-3 hours. It is a lot of work!! To sit there and watch this robot work is a marvel, and the “matrix” cleaning system is a blessing as no part of the floor or baseboards are missed, even under furniture. This is such hard work to do manually, it is why most people only do deep cleaning such as this 2-4x per year with surface area vacuuming weekly but with this Shark Robot it can be done 2-3x per week or as often as you need or want it done. Programing it was a piece of cake. The Robot got the lay of our house in one pass and by the way, our house has a lot of “obstacles”. Lots!! I wondered if we needed to move anything, but the robot navigated the house better than a person. I thought I might need to hand vacuum under my desk because there is a 1/2 thick glass chair matt there and the space behind my desk is rather tight, with the desk chair and side chairs, with a cabinet and a credenza. NOPE! The Shark Robot navigated it perfectly. It vacuumed every inch of the office, under the cabinet, over the glass matt and behind the desk in the cubby where your feet go. I was blown away in awe and amazement. I even used the white glove test behind my desk and not a speck of dirt. We also have a lot of area rugs and the manual vacuum used to always get stuck on them and jam. I wondered if we were going to have to remove all our area rugs. We probably have 10. (Moving them would be a lot of work too). NOPE! The Shark Robot navigated everyone of them and cleaned them thoroughly. No jams and no stops. The Shark did GREAT! This Shark Robot Vacuum and Mop has exceeded my wildest expectations. I read hundreds of reviews and research the heck of the Top 10. I am glad we chose the Shark Robot because it has been great!! We have two dogs and all luxury vinyl flooring and porcelain tile throughout the home. We also have about 10 area rugs and (2) 36″ x 45″, 1/2″ thick glass floor matts, and the Shark Robot navigates over them and cleans them thoroughly. We also allow the Shark robot to clean the entire house. We do not have any “no-go zones”. Though, they can be programmed in, if you desire, we wanted the entire home vacuumed and mopped. The noise level is noticeable but not as loud as a regular vacuum. I work from home and I am on the phone a lot. The noise does not distract from my calls. An outside grass weed eater or blower is far louder. (Those will disrupt my calls, but the Shark Robot sound does not distract). You can also easily watch and listen to the T.V. even when the Shark is in the same room; it is not distracting. A few other super cool features are that the Robot will call out or beep when it is returning to the charging and docking station. I LOVE that it knows when to return to its charging station and when it needs to empty itself. It even has a self cleaning function at its docking station. The makers of this robot have thought of everything. The app on your phone works like a charm. The Shark Robot is super smart and learns quickly. It will pick up things that my manual vacuum rejected such as popcorn kernels, dog food pellets, peanuts (without the shell), as well as all manner of dirt, grime and paper scraps as well as dog hair and fur. I think the price we paid was a bargain in terms of the quality of the machine and its capabilities. You just can’t beat its cleaning capabilities and the fact that your time is freed up to do other things while the Shark Robot does a thorough cleaning. (My first job right out of college 30+ years ago was working for ServiceMaster managing the cleaning of hospitals. It was super tough work getting those hospitals spotless and clean, but I am afraid to say this Shark Robot (had it existed then) would have replaced us all and done a far superior job. Not beating up on us, but the Shark Robot NEVER tires; people do. This Shark Robot vacuums and mops at its highest capacity and with maximum accuracy all the time, and on-demand, and never tires. It is going to do a super cleaning job every time you need it to and on-demand night or day. It is simply amazing!! We rate it A++!
Customer Review: Update 12/29/2025: if i could give a zero i would!!! ok, the warranty ran out November 2024, the unit has failed. It started to act up a month before the warranty ran out. I cleaned it, new filters, new rollers, did regular maintenance work, it still failed. I was told by a Shark rep after going through the steps to fix , and it can not be fixed. I was offered 30% off buying a new one from Shark! I paid 349 plus tax for a vacuum that only lasted a year with normal daily use in our home!!!! I have had Shark vacuums in the past, with no problems, so i stuck with Shark on the Robo Vac, and that was a big mistake to do so!!!! What a rip off!!!!! Now i am out a vacuum! Back to a broom and dust pan! It does not fail in a year nor cost almost$350!!!!!——————————-OLD review:I did not get the highest model, but being a lover of shark vacuums I did purchased the self cleaning vac mop model to see if i would like a robot vac.All I can say is WOW!!! We have 2 dogs whose job is to shed, 4 cats, a cocatoo, hubby and kids. The first picture is random run, the second was from after returing to dock to empty and then back to point it had stopped at to finish. The 3rd is from a whole house programmed run. 4 rooms, 1 bath and hallway. The last one the pad from cleaning one room with the mop function. That blew my mind, it is not a frequently used room and had been washed a couple days before.Using a broom or cordless stick vac(not Shark, was a bad girl, i can say it will soon be replaced with a Shark version, no more straying from Shark)it looked like i could make a toupee daily!!! This robot vacuum 3 toupees in one cleaning! This was on normal mode, may try matrix next time and see what she finds!!!Love how she mapped the rooms, it was very accurate and let’s you know the size of the rooms, and also the size of cleaning it does. It was very impressive!!!The mop feature worked great too. I have no complaints, no streaks, dried quickly and was not sticky. My goal is to get the shark robot vacuum wet/dry model that auto fills cleaning fluid too. I can not believe how much crud it finds and how clean the floors are.I do have some furniture it can not go under, but it does get under enough to help control dust bunnies, especially if able to go around the full piece of furniture. I will see if this helps lessen dusting since the floors are so much cleaner. It really is not that loud when it empties itself. Very quiet when working. I love that she can be programmed her to sweep the whole house and she does at 0300 daily. Off she went with no prompts. Could not be easier!!! She loves working nights! HA HA.I am not technically savy, so it took me a couple minutes to figure out the app. But, once I did, a piece of cake to set her up!Now to see if she does hold 60 days of this crews fur and dirt!!! I have confidence in Shark, that it will!!!If your home has two levels you would need 2, I have one room that has a step down into, I just place her in the room, push clean and off she goes.I am impressed that my floors do not look like they need to be swept again a few hours afterwards. I do not have carpet, but i do have a dog rug that absorbs all with shag pile under their food and water bowls, and she goes right over it! Its time to put the one down by the front door like that one, and I am pretty sure she will not have a problem with it.I am very happy that “Rosy” loves to keep my floors clean!
4. Shark RV2720ZE Stratos 2-in-1 Robot Vacuum & Mop
The Stratos line is Shark’s premium offering with the NeverTouch Self-Cleaning Base, similar to the PowerDetect Pro but often with slightly different suction or mopping specs. This model focuses on delivering a complete, autonomous clean with a self-washing and drying mop system, making it a direct competitor to the top-end models in our list.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ NeverTouch Self-Cleaning Base: Automatically empties debris, refills water, and washes/dries the mop pad for up to 30 days.
- ✓ Ultra-Powerful Suction: Engineered for strong performance on both carpets and hard floors.
- ✓ Sonic Mopping: Scrubs hard floors with an antimicrobial mop pad.
- ✓ Precision Mapping & Autolift: Creates accurate home maps and can lift mop pads automatically on carpets.
- ✓ HEPA Filtration & Edge Detect: Captures allergens and targets edge debris with air blasts.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the Stratos RV2720ZE for users who prioritize the self-cleaning mop base feature but may find the PowerDetect Pro’s specific bundle or price less appealing. It’s a slightly different take on the premium autonomous experience, with a focus on the self-maintenance cycle for the mop. Performance is top-tier across the board.
Best For
Similar to the PowerDetect Pro: large homes with pets and mixed flooring where hands-off mopping maintenance is a key requirement. It’s also great for those who want antimicrobial mop pads for added hygiene.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Fully autonomous cleaning with self-washing/drying mop base.
- Excellent suction power and effective sonic mopping.
- Smart navigation with reliable mapping and carpet detection.
- Large debris and water capacities.
- HEPA filtration is a plus for air quality.
Cons:
- High cost of entry.
- The self-cleaning base cycle is noisy and takes considerable time.
- Base unit footprint is substantial.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I have had “Sharky” for two weeks now and LOVE IT!!! I am so glad I chose this one! Was super easy to set up, map the house, and the app is super simple! I use it daily because my dog sheds terribly and it does amazing and the mop is just as great!
Customer Review: I had tried a few other brands, all of which failed, couldn’t connect to wifi, or didnt clean anything properly. Wifi connectivity has been seamless with this model. It did a decent job with mapping with 1 exception of water closet that has linoleum. As it vacuums it has gotten ‘lost’ once or twice in the first couple months of use. But the mopping function has been surprisingly good on my hardwood floors. It still bumps into objects from time to time but is able to navigate around them very frequently. The only downside to mapping I would have suggested to ninja is to allow more flexibility with zone and zone sizing. Same for spot cleaning.
5. Shark AV2900XE Robot Vacuum & Mop Combo
This is the ThermaCharged variant of the PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro. The key differentiator is the heated mop-cleaning function in the base. Instead of just washing with water, it uses 185°F water to wash the mop and 175°F air to dry it. This promises a more hygienic clean and faster drying times for the mop pad, addressing a common pain point with robot mops.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ ThermaCharged Heated Cleaning: Base washes mop with 185°F water and dries with 175°F air for superior sanitation and less dampness.
- ✓ Full NeverTouch Pro Base: 60-day debris capacity and 30-day water/cleaning solution refills.
- ✓ PowerDetect Technologies: Five systems for debris, stains, edges, and optimized coverage.
- ✓ Dirt Detect: Identifies high-debris areas and boosts suction power until clean.
- ✓ Matrix Clean Navigation & NeverStuck: Systematic grid cleaning and obstacle overcoming.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the AV2900XE for users in humid climates or those particularly concerned about mold and mildew on the mop pad. The heated wash and dry cycle is a significant upgrade over standard water-wash bases, ensuring the mop is truly clean and dry after each cycle. It’s the best choice if hygiene and pad maintenance are top priorities.
Best For
Pet owners with allergies, homes in damp environments, and anyone who has been frustrated by a perpetually damp mop pad on other self-cleaning models. It’s for the user who wants the most advanced sanitation possible from their robot’s maintenance system.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Heated mop wash and dry is more hygienic and leaves pad drier.
- Complete autonomy with self-empty, self-refill, and self-cleaning base.
- Powerful, targeted cleaning with PowerDetect and Matrix Clean.
- Excellent navigation and obstacle handling.
- Large capacities for long intervals between servicing.
Cons:
- Premium price, the highest in the Shark lineup.
- The heating cycle likely increases power consumption and cycle time.
- Base unit is very large and heavy.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I love it, I’m emptying the compartments out more often than it says would be needed however I have a dog who’s blowing a winter coat and we’re constantly tracking mud and leaves inside. For the most part I love this robot! It cuts down cleaning time. I was washing the dishes while the robot cleaned the floors and boom! two jobs done at the same time. I do think it misses some pretty obvious things and I don’t know why exactly but for all I know my dog could be stepping in front of it at different times and it turns and misses or something. Maps well but if your rugs don’t lay entirely flat they will just get moved around by it. Mine lay flat but they are not grippy so it struggles with my area rugs. All in all I’m very happy with my purchase, this took a lot of work out of my daily cleaning routines. I’m very happy I finally got one and I’ve recommended it to everybody I know
Customer Review: This is a GREAT floor robot. It sweeps during the week. On SAT it mops. Sunday it has a day off. Easy to set up and maintain. I have wood and tile floors and the mopping feature is outstanding. When it comes to the room rug – it immediately changes and keeps going. I suggest pouring a cap full of bleach/water in the waste water if you don’t change it out but once a month. If weekly, then it should be fine.NOTE: If you cannot connect to the robot after an Internet blackout. Mark your rooms that you have set up on paper. Delete the Robot and then Re-add it. Rename your rooms back to the way you had them to match the schedule. This is super quiet compared to the iRobot. It can sweep and I can still watch TV. Very happy with this purchase!!!
6. Shark AV2511AE AI Ultra Voice Control Robot Vacuum
This is Shark’s AI Ultra vacuum-only model (it does not mop). It stands out for its voice control compatibility (works with Alexa and Google Assistant) and its focus on intelligent navigation with Matrix Clean. It features a large XL self-emptying base. This is the pick for someone who wants Shark’s best vacuuming intelligence and hands-off emptying but has separate mopping needs or only has carpets/hard floors without a mopping requirement.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ AI-Powered Navigation: Uses LiDAR and AI for precise home mapping and efficient cleaning paths.
- ✓ Matrix Clean: Grid-pattern cleaning with multi-directional passes for thorough coverage.
- ✓ Voice Control: Start, stop, and dock cleaning with simple voice commands via Alexa or Google.
- ✓ XL Self-Empty Base (60-Day): Large, bagless dustbin holds up to 60 days of debris.
- ✓ Powerful Suction: Designed for deep carpet cleaning and hard floor debris pickup.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the AI Ultra for tech enthusiasts and multi-story home owners. Its mapping is exceptionally fast and accurate thanks to LiDAR. The voice control is genuinely convenient. If you don’t need an integrated mop, this is Shark’s most advanced pure vacuum robot, and the self-empty base is a huge quality-of-life feature.
Best For
Homes with mostly carpets, or users who already have a separate, preferred manual or robot mop. Also ideal for large, complex floor plans where fast, accurate mapping is crucial, and for anyone who loves controlling their smart home with voice commands.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Superb, fast LiDAR-based mapping and navigation.
- Matrix Clean ensures excellent, thorough vacuuming coverage.
- Seamless voice control integration.
- Very large self-empty dustbin capacity (60 days).
- Strong suction power on all floor types.
Cons:
- This is a vacuum only – no mopping function at all.
- App can be slightly buggy and lacks some advanced scheduling features.
- Mapping can occasionally miss small wall sections on first run.
- Object avoidance is good but not perfect; can be cautious near baseboards.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: My Usage and Overall Comments:==============================Have had the Bot for 2-3 weeks now.Mostly used on 2nd floor (bedrooms/bathrooms/Loft area) which is 90% carpet. I mapped this floor only.Occasionally used on 1st floor, which is about 50% carpet. (Not mapped).Overall it seems to do a pretty good job, keeping in mind these Bot Vacs are not meant for DEEP cleaning carpets.Much quieter than my old Neato Botvac80!Cleans my 2nd floor on a single charge with BOOST cleaning, and recharging takes about 3 hours.Overall I feel it’s a good Robot Vac, but wouldn’t spend more than $300 for it.Floor Mapping Review:==============================- My 2nd floor is about 1,000sq ft and it takes about 10-12 mins to map it.- It’s not the greatest at mapping. It will sometimes take 2-3 “Explore” runs for it to get it right because itoccasionally misses entire wall sections.- Adding/Changing/Removing Room Labels and No-Go Zones on the app is pretty easy.If you’re older, it’s easier to do it on a Tablet vs the phone.- I noticed that once it completes the entire cleaning run on the 2nd floor, it seems like it internally compares the resultswith the full map(??), and if it detects area’s that it missed it will go back to them to clean them. When it does do that, it doesn’t always clean them in the most efficient order, often running from one end of thehouse to the other to address these areas. I have also seen this behavior when tasked with cleaning a specific room. It’s will sometimes bounce around in the room getting the spots it feels it missed.- There have been times where I’ve seen it do several clockwise/counter-clockwise spins in the same spot as if it’s tryingto decide where to go next. Sometimes these crazy spins can last 30-40 seconds.- So far no problems with it finding the Base Unit and Docking with it.- Mapping is only required if you need to specify No-Go Zones or want the ability to vac a specific room(s) so you CANdo like in my case, map the most commonly vacuumed floor (ie: 2nd floor) then manually initiate a cleaning for the 1st floor.(see more about mapping in my “CONS” section).Detailed Review:==============================PROS:- It’s fairly quiet. You can actually have a conversation standing next to it as it’s cleaning.- Their SHARK CLEAN app is easy to use. Again, if you are older using it on a Tablet (larger screen0 will be a better experience.- The self-vacuuming / evacuation unit works well, typically removing 95% of the bot vac’s contents.- So far have not had any issues with it getting stuck in a corner, going over room thresholds/transitions, etc.- Bump avoidance it pretty good as long as objects are high enough for the Lidar Sensor to see it.- No issues transitioning between carpet and hardwood/tile surfaces.- Although it may not take the most efficient paths on occasion, and sometimes re-cleans a section(s) 2-3 times during it’s total run,it does appear to do a very through clean, cleaning all the places that it possibly can reach.- It does well respecting No-Go Zones.- Ledge detection works well also, but the fall-off is only detected after about 25% of the bot is hanging over the edge – depending on it’s speed. It can be nerve wracking to watch near stairs!!- The Evacuate and Resume feature is nice to have. (After every 30 mins of cleaning, it will return to the Dock to empty its dust bin thenreturn to clean where it left off.- The Do Not Disturb Schedule works well.- The No-Go Zones work well.- Although I have not had a need for it as of yet, I’m confident the Recharge and Resume feature will work fine.FYI:- Initial WiFi Setup: I did have an issue trying to pair the Bot with my phone. I think after I rebooted my phone it finally worked.- Annoying – if you remove the Bot’s dust bin while it’s ON, it will complain stating it’s dust bin needs to be replaced.- The foam roll filter in the Docking station gets VERY dirty real fast and needs to be cleaned every 2-3 runs. It’s easy to clean, just tap over a garbage can to get the bulk off, then slide off the foam roll from it’s base and rinse in a sink.Let dry completely before returning to docking station.- The Evacuation system will engage EVERY TIME you return the Bot to the dock. So if you pull the Bot off just to check the roller, as soon as youre-dock it, the evacuation system will turn on.- The Evacuation system is as loud as a typical upright vacuum, so keep that in mind when deciding on a location for it!!!- I have not tried the SCHEDULED Cleaning at all. I personally prefer to manually initiate when/where I want it to clean.CONS:- I was not able to Register the Bot via the app – kept saying “Something went wrong”. Had to do it online.- The app could use some improvements/updating, like showing the current location of the BOT and what it’s cleaned so far as it’s running, estimated time of completion, etc.- Deleting your map when you want to do a “Re-explore” (ie: Re-Map) can take a minute or two to complete.- “Matrix” cleaning can only be performed on one room at a time. So if you have 3 kids bedrooms you want to Matrix clean you have to select one,do the cleaning, then send it out again to do the Matrix cleaning on the 2nd bedroom, etc.You might be able to work around this by setting up 3 Scheduled cleanings(??), one for each room.- The Mapping system could be MUCH better. I can understand it not mapping a shoe on the floor, but missing an entire 10-FOOT WALL SECTION???Would be nice to have Multi-Floor/Level mapping also.- I’ve run into an occasional issue where after doing a manual cleaning (via press of the CLEAN button) on the 1st floor (not mapped),then using the app to vac a specific room on the 2nd floor (mapped), it will clean the room, but then starts re-cleaning the last 3-foot sectionover-and-over until I manually stop it. Others also have reported odd issues jumping between “Mapped” cleaning and “non-Mapped” cleaning areas. The fix for me was to delete my map and have the bot do a re-explore to build it again (and hope it does it correctly on the 1st pass). If this issue continues, I’m toying with the idea of not doing any mapping at all and just letting the Bot figure it out as it goes regardless of the floor it’s on.I’ll loose the No-Go Zones and Specific Room Clean functions and it will likely take longer to run,but it might be worth it until the Mapping Logic is improved.CUSTOMER SUPPORT:==============================I did reach out to them when I had the “re-cleaning the same 3-foot section” issue after bouncing between a Mapped and Non-Mapped floor. This was during Black Friday weekend, and I only waited 5-10 minutes to speak with someone. They were OK, some easier to understand than others.I was eventually connected with one of their Technical Support staff and had to re-explain the issue. He asked if I could run the cleaning sessionagain (I was fine with that) and he wanted to video record the Bot in action, so he sent me a link for the video connection. I was unable to getthat working (Android phone issue??). He asked me to re-explain the issue to him again, and we got into a brief disagreement about how the MATRIX CLEANfunction worked – he claimed that was only for “Spot cleaning”, which I told him was NOT true.He finally suggested I delete my floor map and re-run another mapping session then try to replicate the problem again.I was assigned a Ticket# to reference when I called them back with my findings. After re-doing the mapping, I haven’t been able to replicate the problem yet, and I’m leaning towards assuming the Bot works best with Mapped areas only, and jumping between Mapped/Non-Mapped floors is not 100% supported (???)
Customer Review: I’m no stranger to smart vacs – I have 4 robovacs, two of them self-emptying, mapping robots. My other self-emptying one is a Roomba i3+ (which by now is 3 or 4 year-old tech), so I naturally am comparing this Shark to that one. There’s a lot to compare and report on, but I’ll just quickly touch on some categories:- General cleaning powerThe Shark seems to be right up there with the Roomba. Suction power and brushing is very similar (even though the Shark has only one brush to the Roombas two), with the Shark having a minor edge in suction power.- MappingThe Shark seemed to map my house much faster than the Roomba. It apparently uses its lidar to do so, while the older Roomba had to physically travel over the floor area to include it in the map. The Shark map appears a bit more accurate than the Roomba’s.- Cleaning styleThe Shark, like the Roomba, cleans in neat parallel rows, and they both do it well. But the Shark has the advantage of Matrix Cleaning, which covers the area twice – in two directions – and that’s a great option. And I also like the spot cleaning option, as well as the ability to set keep-away zones with the Shark.- FlexibilityBoth machines allow the user to direct them to clean certain specified rooms via their apps, and both do it well. The Shark seems to go to rooms faster, while the Roomba has to think about it a lot before proceeding. Both apps are intuitive and work well.- Noise levelsSound levels are about the same to my ears, although they sound different. The Roomba has a sucking whine, while the Shark has a slightly rattling sound…………………….Some negatives for the Shark:Maintenance – The Shark uses a bagless sytem, whereas my Roomba uses a tidy throwaway bag. While bagless may seem like an advantage, it requires you to clean the dust collection container instead of just pulling out the bag and tossing it. The bag also serves as a filter, meaning that the Shark has to have multiple internal filters (3 in fact), which have to be periodically cleaned or replaced.Object Avoidance -While it doesn’t bang into walls and objects as much as some vacs, it can be too cautious and stop 3-4″ from baseboards, leaving an uncleaned zone along walls. Looks like I’ll have to pull out the old upright vac every so often and vacuum the perimeters.Profile – Its lidar module on top extends higher than on many vacs, making it tend to get stuck on low clearance furniture. It makes a very good effort to avoid these situations, though, so it’s not a major issue.Dock – While it’s a lower-profile dock than some vacs, it’s also wider, so it takes up more wall area. Leaving the recommended amount of free space on either side is hard to do, so placement might be challenging………………………..All in all, this Shark self-emptying smart vac is a great tool. At full price it might seem a little pricey, but it’s on sale from time to time, and might be worth waiting for a good price. In today’s smart vac world it’s a solid contender, and it earns all 5 stars from me in spite of some minor shortcomings………………………..*Update* – I’ve used the Shark for a month now, and I’m very happy with it. It seems to avoid getting stuck better than all my other vacs, and it has no trouble finding its dock and docking itself like some vacs. I can send it to rooms clear across the house and it just obediently goes there and does its job, then comes back.Matrix clean is awesome. Cleaning our carpet in one direction and then coming back in the other direction is genius. What it doesn’t get going north-south it gets in the east-west direction. It doesn’t seem to allow me to select more than one room at a time for matrix, but I can deal with that.I’ve been a Roomba fan for years, but this Shark is changing my mind!
7. Shark RV2610WA AI Ultra 2in1 Robot Vacuum & Mop
This model combines the AI Ultra’s intelligent LiDAR navigation and Matrix Clean vacuuming with Sonic Mopping and a self-emptying base. It’s a more affordable entry into Shark’s AI-powered mapping and mopping combo line, though it uses a standard water tank for mopping instead of a self-cleaning base.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ AI-Powered LiDAR Navigation: Fast, accurate home mapping for precise room cleaning and no-go zones.
- ✓ Matrix Clean Vacuuming: Grid pattern with multi-directional passes for no-miss coverage.
- ✓ Sonic Mopping: High-speed vibrating pad scrubs hard floors.
- ✓ Self-Emptying Base (60-Day): Automatically empties robot’s dustbin into a large, bagless container.
- ✓ CleanEdge Detect: Uses air blasts to pull debris from edges and corners.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the RV2610WA for buyers who want the intelligence and speed of Shark’s AI navigation system with the added utility of mopping, but don’t need the fully autonomous self-cleaning mop base. It’s a significant step up from the basic AI Robot Vacuum & Mop (AV2001WD) with better mapping and the Matrix Clean system.
Best For
Tech-savvy users with complex floor plans who want precise control over cleaning zones. Also great for homes with mostly hard floors and some area rugs, where the sonic mopping is effective but manual pad maintenance is acceptable.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Excellent, fast LiDAR-based mapping and navigation.
- Matrix Clean provides thorough vacuuming coverage.
- Capable sonic mopping for daily maintenance on hard floors.
- Self-empty base drastically reduces dustbin emptying chores.
- Strong suction power.
Cons:
- Mopping pad must be manually washed and dried; no self-cleaning base.
- Water tank capacity is moderate, may need refilling for large homes.
- Some users report durability concerns with plastic components over time.
- Object avoidance can be inconsistent, occasionally bumping into furniture.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: Excellent purchase, highly recommendedI am extremely satisfied with this Shark robot vacuum. The setup was very easy, and from the first use you can tell the quality of the product. It does an amazing job picking up dust, hair, and dirt, and the mapping feature works great, cleaning in an organized and efficient way.I love that it automatically returns to its base and works almost completely on its own, saving me a lot of time. It’s perfect for hard floors and cleans very well, even in corners.Definitely a great investment that makes daily cleaning much easier and keeps my home spotless. I would absolutely buy it again. ⭐✨
Customer Review: I ordered this vacuum about a month and a half ago, and within a few weeks, a small plastic piece on the vacuum broke, making it completely unusable. Amazon replaced the entire unit, but when the replacement arrived, it was already broken right out of the box. This time, a plastic piece on the charger had snapped, making it inoperable. These are clear design flaws due to how cheaply the product is made. It might be lower priced, but you definitely get what you pay for. I would not recommend this product.I have several other shark vacuums and have never had any issues. I have the other two and one shark robot vacuum that cost nearly twice as much as this one, and it has lasted me over a year now. Very disappointed.I do like the shark app and have three other shark robot, vacuum vacuums, which is the only reason I am even remotely interested in purchasing another.
8. Shark AV2001WD AI Robot Vacuum & Mop
This is Shark’s earlier generation AI Robot Vacuum & Mop. It features AI-based navigation (though not the newer Matrix Clean), a self-empty base, and sonic mopping. It’s typically found at a lower price point than the AI Ultra models, making it a solid budget-friendly option for those wanting mapping and mopping without the latest premium features.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ AI Navigation & Home Mapping: Creates a map of your home for targeted cleaning and no-go zones.
- ✓ Sonic Mopping: 100 scrubs per minute to tackle sticky messes on hard floors.
- ✓ Self-Emptying Base: Automatically empties debris into a bagless container.
- ✓ Multi-Surface Cleaning: Transitions between carpets and hard floors, avoiding carpets while mopping.
- ✓ Voice Control & App: Works with Alexa/Google and offers scheduling and zone control via the SharkClean app.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the AV2001WD for shoppers on a tighter budget who still want the core benefits of a mapping robot with mopping and self-empty capabilities. It’s a workhorse that gets the job done, especially in homes with simpler layouts. It proves you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a competent 2-in-1 robot.
Best For
First-time robot vacuum buyers, smaller homes or apartments, and users with straightforward cleaning needs. It’s also a good choice if you find it on a significant sale, as it offers strong baseline performance for the price.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Affordable price for a mapping, self-emptying, mopping robot.
- AI navigation is generally reliable for simple to moderate floor plans.
- Sonic mopping is effective for daily hard floor maintenance.
- Self-empty base is a major convenience upgrade.
- Voice control compatibility is a nice touch.
Cons:
- Navigation and mapping are less sophisticated than newer Matrix Clean/LiDAR models.
- Can be prone to getting stuck or confused in cluttered or complex spaces.
- Mopping performance is basic; not for deep scrubbing.
- Build quality and durability have been questioned in some user reports.
- App connectivity and stability can be inconsistent.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: I purchased this on November 12. I LOVE my standard Shark vacuum, so I was looking forward to the same experience with their robot vacuum. Since day one it has had trouble cleaning.I am constantly getting error messages (even with the first use). The vacuum will randomly stop in the middle of a cleared floor (I pick up everything except large pieces of furniture). It states that there’s an obstruction or the wheels are stuck.I follow the manual and the app for troubleshooting including cleaning the sensors, self-cleaning brush, bumpers and wheels. I’m spending more time cleaning the vacuum than it does cleaning my floor. And I could have vacuumed my house in less time with my regular vacuum cleaner.I have tried moving the home location and remapping. I have tried turning it on/off to see if that will reset. I make sure the charge is at 100% before I even start.I tried to chat customer service but got an error message on the website… Seems to be a running theme. It then said to call so I did and was told there is a long wait time. Still waiting on a callback after an hour.As a side note, I purchased a Roborock robot vacuum over a year ago. It doesn’t quite have all the shark bells and whistles on the app, but that thing is a little powerhouse. I use it upstairs, but wanted the shark for downstairs to vacuum and mop. Looks like I’ll stick with Roborock got robot vacuums and Shark for the standup.I would NOT recommend this robot vacuum based on the one I received. If Shark replaces it and I have a better experience, I’ll update my review.
Customer Review: We purchased the same one from Sam’s Club and it was perfect right out of the box. We needed another one the our lower level so I found one on Amazon used so I bought it. It kept getting unpaired so I returned it and purchased another one. It kept just stopping for no reason and saying to reset it. I returned that one and got another one. This one is great. It finishes every cycle and does a great job. It was worth waiting for a good one
9. DREAME L40 Ultra Gen 2 Robot Vacuum & Mop
While not a Shark, the DREAME L40 Ultra Gen 2 is a formidable competitor often mentioned alongside premium Shark models. It boasts an industry-leading 25,000Pa suction and a unique extendable brush and mop that reaches into corners and under furniture. It features a full self-cleaning base (wash, dry, empty) and advanced AI object recognition, including a pet-detection camera.

- ✓ AI Object Recognition: Identifies and avoids common household obstacles like cords, shoes, and pet waste.
- ✓ Pet Recognition & Photo: Front-facing camera can identify and take photos of pets when requested via the app.
Why We Recommend It
We recommend the DREAME L40 Ultra Gen 2 for users who prioritize raw suction power and corner cleaning above all else. Its extendable side brush is a unique solution for edge debris. The AI obstacle avoidance and pet features are top-tier. If you want the most powerful clean possible and are open to a non-Shark brand, this is a premium alternative that matches or exceeds Shark’s top models in some areas.
Best For
Large homes with heavy debris, pet owners dealing with lots of embedded hair, and those with lots of corners and tight spaces. It’s for the user who wants cutting-edge AI features and doesn’t mind a different app ecosystem than Shark’s.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Unrivaled 25,000Pa suction power for deep cleaning.
- Extendable brush and mop reach edges and corners exceptionally well.
- Superior AI object avoidance and pet recognition.
- Complete self-maintenance base (empty, wash, dry, refill).
- Excellent LiDAR mapping and efficient cleaning paths.
Cons:
- Premium price comparable to Shark’s top models.
- Brand ecosystem (app, support) is less established than Shark in the US.
- Can be overly cautious with object avoidance, sometimes stopping too early.
- Water consumption during mopping can be high.
Customer Reviews
Customer Review: A month in and I will never go back to our other life.I have 2 Labrador retrievers and live in the woods (no lawn). We have a new home build, so there is still sand everywhere that the dogs, and us, are endlessly tracking inside. Our living space is about 1,000 sq ft with cement floors and wool and natural fiber area rugs.I have a very high standard of cleanliness which I am always balancing with my love for my dogs.Previous life: I was running an older robot vacuum daily, my husband was using the cordless vacuum daily to clean sand and dog hair and I was also vacuuming rugs and hand mopping the floors as necessary. (Probably not often enough)Research: I did a lot research before choosing this model. Pet hair. We have so much… every where. We also still building our house and there is sand and grit and sawdust… every where. I watched endless videos and read reviews on vacuum wars, wire cutter, consumer reports, etc. Originally, I was prepared to spend between $700-$1,200.Why this model?: I narrowed in on Dreame because or the reviews on the effectiveness of pet hair pickup and I did not find any complaints on pet hair not being cleared from the vacuum when it self empties, which was a chronic problem with my older unit. The app functionality had really good reviews, but the thing that really sold me is that it takes photos of your pets. This is only slightly silly, but is seriously what sold me. It tells me that this company knows that a good vacuum and pets are a package deal.I was looking at the L50 but when I started comparing the 40 to the 50, I didn’t see that the newer upgrade had additional features that met my priorities. I decided to spend half as much and went with the L40.What I love: my floors look and feel so clean. I can now walk barefoot across my floors and don’t feel sand. We don’t vacuum daily and I haven’t pulled out my mop since we started using this unit. This is an extra 15 minutes that I get in my life every day. This is now 15 minutes a day that we spend doing yoga because the floors are clean and we can just lay on them without having to vacuum. The maintenance on this unit is easy. In our smaller house (vacuuming and mopping about 740 sq ft daily), I have been adding water and emptying the waster water about every 4-5 days. The unit came with a small bottle of cleaner that filled about half of the reservoir and there is still about 1/2 of that left. The dust collection bag, even with all the dog hair, has not needed to be changed yet. I’ve rinsed out the base (mop head cleaning area) twice. This equates to 5-10 minutes of my time a week for floors that are dramatically cleaner than when we were vacuuming and mopping ourselves.Functionality: The LiDAR mapping is amazing. I’ve run two maps and each one took about 5 minutes. The mapping is very accurate. I did take the time to go through the maps and add furniture and no-go areas, which takes a little time. The object avoidance, so far, has been outstanding. Things are always moving around (dog toys, shoes, chairs, etc.) and I have not had any issues with the unit “getting aggressive” with new obstacles like dog toys or chair bases. It looked like it was going to get hung up on a chair bases once but we gave it a minute and it figured out how to get itself off.The programming for this company seems really good. Very “smart”. It mostly takes care of itself and is very hands-off. It does its job very well and does not need much from me, which is exactly what I wanted. The unit seems to get fully cleared when it empties at the base. This was my biggest issue with my old unit. With so much dog hair, the old unit would over fill and not be able to clear itself out. I would have to either empty it manually or run it more often just to make sure it didn’t pick up more pet hair than it could manage.Other observations/ comments: Yes, it does make noise. It is a vacuum. When it goes from a hard floor surface to a rug the suction increases and the unit makes more noise. It’s still substantially more quiet than a regular vacuum, but it is not so quiet that I would have it cleaning in a room where I’m trying to have a conversation or watch a movie. The object identification is good but not perfect. However, I can tell that it is learning. During the first few runs it identified a shaggy pet toy lost under the bed as a pet. It also identified a loose strand on a rug as pet feces. Over the past few weeks, it has gotten better at identifying the objects in my house and I haven’t gotten any incorrect notifications. It did get lost once behind the couch.I currently have it programmed to vacuum and mop on the same runs. However, I’ve noticed that the mop pads or base of the unit are carrying some pet hair onto the rugs and leaving a swipe of fur where it enters the rug. I will reprogram it to run separate vacuum and mopping sessions, which should fix this issue. (Again, we have a lot of pet hair in our house)I was sold on this unit for the pet recognition feature and the go-find-my-pets-and-take-their-photo-when-I’m-not-home function. It was a novelty that I was excited about. A month in and I’ve used it twice. Now, it is just so novel and wonderful having clean and beautiful floors. I love it.
Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. It took a while to dial in the settings on the app and I’m still making small adjustments. It does go through water a lot faster then expected. I have to refill the fresh water about every other day.Thats really my only slight negative. Everything else about this is amazing. To those who have problems with it going in circles when it gets on carpet, I had the same problem. Once I set up a carpet zone in the app then it behaved. I think it got confused since originally I had set up my the app as having laminate throughout the house. I assumed that it would automatically know the difference but after I set up the carpet zones in the app and gave it instructions it worked perfect. Our laminate floors have never been cleaner. The mop function is probably the best thing about this and that’s saying something. My wife was skeptical but she says this actually does as good a job as hand mopping. I’m not exaggerating. It doesn’t even leave streaks. Our dogs have free run of the house and with a doggy door they’re in and out all day tracking in dirt. I have the smart clean feature turned on and it mops every night, sometimes twice. The object avoidance so far has been nearly perfect. It did try to suck up a black charging cable but it was on dark colored carpet so I’m not surprised it didn’t recognize it.Our carpet rug has high pile so the mop heads did slightly touch it but that’s an easy fix by just having the robot vacuum first while leaving the mop heads at the base then mopping after. We have 2 other entry rugs with shag carpet that this really dosnt like. The side brush got twisted up in it last night and I thought it had destroyed it but I was able to untangle it without problems.I love this mop.I spent a week researching before purchasing. I watched several videos on YouTube and narrowed down the features that I wanted before making my decision.I found this when it was on sell for under $500. I don’t believe you need to spend a lot of money (over $1000) to get a good vacuum any more. This is our 3rd robot vacuum and I’m excited to see how for the technologies come in just a few short years. If you wait until these high end flagship vacuums have been out for while, you can pick them up at a steal. This was cheaper then the shark mop vac we bought from Costco a few years ago and the upgrade in technology is mind blowing. We also have had fun with the find the pet function on this. When we were at a family party the other night, I turned on the front facing camera on the app, then set it to free roam around the house searching for our pet until it located them. My Mom and Sister were blown away.I did purchase separately, the 3 year warranty. I figure if it goes out after 3 years then the technology will be to the point where I’m ready to upgrade anyway. Very happy so far and I feel like I made the right choise.Update: this morning the vacuum was stuck on the shag rug placed by one of the exterior doors. It had a completely dead battery. I had to pick it up and manually put it back on the charger. A few hours later I looked in the app and my vacuum had sent me a message. It read, “the Dreame mop vacuum has gotten stuck on this carpet several times, may I recommend that we turn it into a no-go zone?”It had the settings button under neath the text so I clicked it and it had already mapped out a no-go zone around that rug that I just needed to agree to. Wow.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review: This vacuum has checked all the boxes for our home and family. We have two dogs that shed a lot and just running once a day picks up so much dog hair. The suction is strong (albeit the vacuum can be a bit loud), and the never tange brush roll works well.We have a lot of rugs and a few cords lying around but not once has the vacuum been stuck. The App was very easy to setup and add the vacuum (along with the WIFI setup), and I especially love the map function where you can see how the machine is learning and draw maps if you would like to only go in specific spots. We have not used the mop function yet, but are excited to give it a try.Additionally the kids are enjoying this and already have given the vacuum it’s own name. The dogs are not intimidated but definitely keep their distance. The battery life has been great too, no issues there. Overall, it’s a great vacuum that fits all of our needs.
Customer Review: The Bissell Robot Vacuum & Mop has been a great addition to my cleaning routine. The suction power is strong, especially for pet hair. The no-tangle brush roll really makes a difference compared to other robot vacuums I’ve used. The navigation helps it move efficiently and avoid obstacles.Setup was simple, and the mapping feature works well. The 180-minute battery life allows it to clean multiple rooms without stopping.Overall, this robot vacuum saves time and keeps floors consistently clean. It’s especially ideal for homes with pets.
Complete Buying Guide for Best Shark Robot Vacuum And Mop
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing the best Shark robot vacuum and mop for your home, several key factors make a real difference in daily use. Suction power is paramount—look for models with strong, adjustable suction if you have carpets or deep-pile rugs. Navigation and mapping technology is equally critical. LiDAR-based systems (like on AI Ultra models) are faster and more accurate than camera-based or bump-navigation systems, leading to more efficient cleanings and reliable room selection. The mopping mechanism varies: Sonic mopping (vibrating pads) is standard and good for daily maintenance, while models with a self-cleaning base (NeverTouch Pro/Stratos) offer the ultimate convenience by washing and drying the pad automatically. Finally, consider the self-empty base—all models here have one, but capacities range from 30 to 60 days of debris, impacting how often you must service the base.
Budget Planning
Shark robot vacuum and mop combos span a wide price range. At the entry-level, expect to pay around $300-$500 for a model with basic AI navigation, sonic mopping, and a self-empty base (e.g., AV2001WD, AV2610WA). The mid-range ($500-$800) brings you the AI Ultra 2in1 with better LiDAR mapping and Matrix Clean. The premium tier ($800-$1,200+) includes the full PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro and Stratos with their comprehensive self-maintenance bases that handle water, washing, and drying. The DREAME L40 Ultra Gen 2 fits in this premium bracket as a non-Shark alternative. Balance your need for autonomous mopping maintenance against your budget. If you only need vacuuming, the AI Ultra vacuum-only model can save money.
Final Thoughts
The “best” Shark robot vacuum and mop is the one that aligns with your specific home environment and lifestyle. For the ultimate set-and-forget experience, the Shark AV2800ZEBK (PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro) is unmatched in its hands-off capabilities. For the best value, the Shark AV2610WA delivers core Shark cleaning tech at a more accessible price. Pet owners with severe hair issues should strongly consider the Bissell FlexClean FurForce for its tangle-free brush. And if you want the strongest suction and smartest AI avoidance, the DREAME L40 Ultra Gen 2 is a powerhouse competitor. No matter which you choose, any of these top 10 will drastically reduce your daily cleaning workload.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How well do Shark robot mops actually clean?
A: Shark’s sonic mopping technology is excellent for daily maintenance and light stains on hard floors. The vibrating pads break up and absorb spills, dried-on spots, and everyday grime. However, they are not designed for deep scrubbing or heavy-duty mopping like a traditional spin mop. For best results, pre-sweep/vacuum large debris, and manage expectations—they maintain cleanliness between your weekly manual mopping sessions.
Q: What’s the difference between the PowerDetect, AI Ultra, and Stratos lines?
A: The PowerDetect/Stratos lines are the premium models featuring the full NeverTouch Pro Self-Cleaning Base (empty, refill, wash, dry). They have the most autonomous maintenance. The AI Ultra line focuses on superior LiDAR navigation and Matrix Clean vacuuming patterns. The AI Ultra 2in1 adds sonic mopping but uses a standard water tank, not a self-cleaning base. The base AI Robot (AV2001WD) is a more basic version of the AI Ultra.
Q: Do I need a separate self-emptying base for each floor?
A: Yes. Robot vacuums cannot climb stairs. If you have a multi-story home and want automated cleaning on both levels, you would need a robot and base for each floor. The base must be placed on a hard, level surface on the same floor it serves.
Q: How often do I need to clean or replace parts?
A: Maintenance varies. The self-empty base’s main dustbin needs emptying every 30-60 days. The mop pads on models without a self-cleaning base must be washed after every use. The main brush roll should be cleaned weekly (or more with pets). Filters typically need rinsing monthly and replacement every 3-6 months. Always check your specific model’s manual.
Q: Can these robots handle thresholds and different floor types?
A: Yes, most handle standard transitions (hard floor to low-pile carpet) well. Models with NeverStuck Technology (PowerDetect Pro) are particularly adept at lifting themselves over obstacles. They will automatically increase suction on carpets. However, very high-pile rugs, thick shag, or uneven thresholds can still pose challenges. Use the app’s no-go zones to block problem areas.
Ultimately, investing in a Shark robot vacuum and mop is an investment in your time and home cleanliness. Based on our testing and analysis, the Shark AV2800ZEBK PowerDetect NeverTouch Pro stands as our top overall pick for its unparalleled convenience and cleaning power. For those seeking the best balance of performance and value, the Shark AV2610WA is an outstanding choice. Consider your specific needs—pet hair, floor types, desired level of automation—and use the comparison table and detailed reviews above to find your perfect match.
