Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “We have had the Shark Navigator for so years or so. It is still running fine but we moved it upstairs to not have to be carrying one u and down to clean. The new one is better than the basic model we had. It has unbelievable suction and clean wonderfully. It is a bit harder to move and is a bit noisier. Perhaps because it is so new and needs to break in. I think the noise is from the self cleaning on the roller. However with two dogs and long haired women it is worth it. Highly recommend. I have had Dyson, Kirby, Electrolux and Sears over the years and NONE of them come close.”

Customer Review: “WOW!! I had a Shark Navigator Lift-a-way, and after 15 years of faithful service, the hose tore and duct tape didnt work. After reading the reviews here on Amazon, I tried to find it in a store. But NONE. I pulled the trigger and ordered it earlier this week. Today, it came and I put it together. My carpet was ready for a good vacuuming. This Shark is AMAZING. SUPER STRONG SUCTION. I had to back the suction off a bit (easy to access, just like the old Shark. PERFECT! I used it on my carpeted steps. Perfect! The attachment for steps is not motorized and actually does a better job than the old Shark. (It had a motorized attachment not unlike the full-sized carpet sweeper) Now I wont hate doing steps!!! I used it on my smooth kitchen floor….works great. GREAT VACUUM!! The price is right. Everything I saw at Kohls, Walmart, were either way low-quality or too high of price. Glad to be able to post a positive review on this. I was worried to never find another vacuum as good as my old Shark. Hope this helps you make a decision. :)”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is my first cordless vacuum cleaner, and I am impressed. The suction is amazing. And the battery life is long enough for me to do my entire house when used in the lower mode. Naturally, when you use it in the highest mode, the suction is stronger so your battery life is shortened. This vacuum is lightweight and comes with all the attachments you could ever want. It’s so easy to maneuver and turns on a dime.I love the stand-up feature, so I don’t have to go find a corner to lean the vacuum against. The LED screen shows how much battery life is left. Also so great that it can transition from rugs to floor without changing any settings. So far a great value for the money I spent. It picked up dirt and dust that I didn’t know I had.The packaging was superb. It was easy to put together and very easy to use.”

Customer Review: “The media could not be loaded. This cordless vacuum turned out to be far more capable than I expected. It feels incredibly powerful — I can literally feel it almost pulling the carpet up as I use it. In just a few minutes, it collected an impressive amount of dust and small debris that I didn’t even realize was there. Despite the strong suction, it’s surprisingly lightweight and easy to maneuver. I also love the retractable pipe and the fact that the hand piece detaches to work as a small handheld vacuum, which is perfect for quick cleanups and tight spaces. If you want serious cleaning power in a convenient, cordless design, this vacuum is absolutely worth it.”

Also the other tools work well. The only downfall is the cord is much shorter than my last Shark. My last Shark is still working, but it has been used a lot.Excellent quality, I have no doubt it will last for years.I would buy this again.Only my 3rd Shark because they last while getting put through the test at our house. Its been 30 years of using them. This one is powerful and picks up all the dirt and pet hair. Nice size dirt bin too.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “The accessory tools are a real bonus with this vacuum. This has great suction and is so easy to use. It doesn’t stand alone but that’s not a big deal for me. I highly recommend this is you need a good solution to a vacuum without having to lug around a bigger canister vacuum. It stores easily using minimal space. This is a great price for this handy vacuum. I just had a knee replacement and this vacuum is so easy for me to use and still be able to keep my carpets and hardwood floors looking good.”

Customer Review: “I have lots of vacuums. I have cordless sticks, traditional sweepers and the robot vacuums that run when I’m not around. I have two dogs, so I feel like I need to clean the floors constantly. I found that the cordless sweepers are convenient, but not very powerful. I wanted a light vacuum with strong suction and I knew that a battery wouldn’t work…that’s why I got the corded version. Wow. It’s so powerful. It really picks up the dirt and I am very happy with how well it cleans my carpets. The cord is long enough that I can move around easily. It’s not very noisy and I really enjoy it. It was super easy to put together and although I saw some negative reviews about storage, I haven’t had any issues with just leaning it up against a wall. It was a great buy and I am very happy with the quality.”

5. Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum NV360

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum with Large Dust Cup, H

The NV360 is the “Deluxe” version of the Navigator, and its key upgrade is a significantly larger dust cup. This means less frequent emptying during big cleaning jobs, which is a major convenience if you have a large, carpeted home. It retains all the core features: powerful multi-surface suction, the Lift-Away pod, Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filter, and swivel steering. The three-position power switch (off, suction only, suction + brush) is incredibly handy for transitioning between carpet and hard floors without making a mess.

Key Features That Stand Out

Extra-Large Dust Cup: Holds more debris, reducing how often you need to stop and empty.
Lift-Away Functionality: Detachable pod for cleaning stairs, furniture, and above-floor areas.
3-Position Power Switch: Choose between suction only (for hard floors) or suction + brushroll (for carpets).
Anti-Allergen Complete Seal + HEPA: Traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum.
Swivel Steering: Excellent maneuverability on all surfaces.

Why We Recommend It

This is the workhorse for large, carpeted homes. The enlarged dust cup is the star feature, allowing you to vacuum multiple rooms without interruption. • Huge dust cup capacity means fewer interruptions during cleaning.
  • Powerful suction on both carpet and hard floors.
  • Excellent maneuverability with swivel steering.
  • Great HEPA filtration for allergen control.
  • Useful brushroll shut-off switch for hard floors.
Cons:
  • Slightly heavier and bulkier than the standard Navigator models.
  • Cord length is average, not extra-long.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Excellent vacuum. Powerful suction and lightweight, easy to maneuver, design. I like the larger tank which affords longer use without need of emptying as frequently. The lift away is great for blinds, curtains, overhead vents, et al. Another great feature is the three position power switch: 1) off, 2) on/suction only, and 3) on/suction and brush. The suction only is particularly useful if you are vacuuming an uncarpeted hardwood, or tile floor.I’ve been hard on vacuums in the past and gone through some highly rated models but I feel like this Shark model might actually go the distance.”

Customer Review: “This is a long one, but it’s worth the read if you’re doing some serious shopping for a vacuum cleaner:I picked this up in October so I’ve been using it for a few months just to get a genuine sense of how this vacuum really performed and I am absolutely impressed! This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you’re wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! I’m able to switch back and forth from floor to handheld quick, fast and in a hurry. Bonus points that it’s lightweight. I’m not killing myself just to vacuum my house. It’s really saved my back! And it was so much less expensive than the Dyson or the Kirby. The window on the floor attachment gives me a clear view of the roller brush ( yeah, it makes me accountable which is a good thing. It’s harder to ignore when I can see it so thanks for that, too. ). The cord is a tad short, so I went ahead a bought a small extension cord to go with it, but other than that, I’m very impressed! I wish I had bought this years ago. I will never buy another vacuum from anyone else other than Shark again. Good job, guys! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a serious little vacuum.”

6. Shark StainStriker Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner PX202BRN

Shark StainStriker Portable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner with Stain &

This is not a traditional vacuum—it’s a dedicated portable extractor/cleaner designed for spot-treating carpets and upholstery. The StainStriker uses a dual-activated cleaning solution that mixes inside the machine, providing 20x more stain-fighting power. It’s perfect for pet accidents, spills, and set-in odors on carpets, stairs, car interiors, and furniture. While it won’t replace a full-sized vacuum for routine cleaning, it’s an indispensable tool for targeted deep cleaning where a large shampooer would be overkill and inconvenient.

Key Features That Stand Out

Dual-Activated Formula: Mixes cleaning solution on-demand for maximum potency on stains.
Powerful Suction & Extraction: Removes stains, odors, and moisture effectively from fibers.
Portable & Lightweight: Easy to carry to the mess, whether it’s on a stair, sofa, or in a car.
Included XL Tool & Attachments: Handles both large areas and small, concentrated spots.
Odor Elimination: Specifically designed to permanently remove pet urine and smoke smells.

Why We Recommend It

Every home with carpets and pets or kids needs a spot cleaner. The StainStriker is one of the best because it’s genuinely effective, easy to use, and the solution system is smart. It tackles the problems a regular vacuum can’t: fresh and old stains, lingering smells, and deep grime. It’s the perfect companion to your main Shark vacuum.

Best For

Pet owners, families with young children, or anyone who wants a powerful, convenient tool for immediate spot and stain treatment on carpets and upholstery without dragging out a large machine.

Pros and Cons

Pros:
  • Extremely effective at removing pet stains and odors.
  • Very portable and easy to store.
  • Quick setup and easy to use for targeted cleaning.
  • Leaves carpets less wet than many portable extractors.
  • Comes with a good range of tools for different messes.
Cons:
  • Not a replacement for a full-sized vacuum for routine dry debris cleaning.
  • Solution tanks need to be refilled for large area cleaning.

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I bought the Shark StainStriker Portable Carpet Cleaner because I have an older dog, and occasional accidents are just part of life now. I needed something that could handle pet stains quickly without dragging out a full carpet shampooer every time. Why this works better than a full carpet cleaner:This unit is ideal for small, targeted areas. Instead of soaking an entire room, it lets me clean just the affected spot, and it pulls out enough moisture that the carpet dries much faster. That alone makes it far more convenient for frequent, real-life messes.Performance:Suction is strong for a portable machine. I tested it on both fresh pet accidents and older, set-in stains, and it removed far more residue and odor than spray cleaners I’ve tried. The carpet isn’t left overly wet, which is important when pets need to walk over the area again shortly after cleaning.Ease of use:It’s easy to set up, lightweight to carry, and the hose length works well for corners, rugs, stairs, and upholstery. Noise level is similar to a small vacuum — noticeable but reasonable.Best use cases:Pet accidents and odorSmall spillsHigh-traffic spotsUpholstery and stairsNot ideal for:Full-room carpet cleaning (this is a spot cleaner, not a replacement for a large shampooer)Overall:For pet owners — especially those with older dogs — this is a practical, reliable solution. It saves time, avoids over-wetting carpets, and feels like a tool you’ll actually keep using”

Customer Review: “I was comparing a few and really ended up liking this one! The cleaner that comes with smells really good and it managed to get the stains out really well. I had tied with my cleaner and paper towels and such, but this did incredible! The nozzle attachments made it easy to go from large stains to smaller ones very quickly, there were no leaks, and I had so much cleaner left over I decided to just start cleaning my whole rug with. There is plenty to be able to clean an entire room with the capacity of the tanks. This was also super easy to clean afterwards and do easily stored back together plus is lightweight and easy to store and carry around as needed. I would highly recommend this.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Warning, it’s a long read, but I wanted to go into deep detail. To start, I have been a Rainbow vacuum user for so long. I love them and felt they worked amazingly.Next, I have 3 dogs & a cat. One is a thick coat lab and the cat sheds so much as well.Another next, I have horrible allergies and wanted something that would help keep them calm as well. I also have a lung disease and need something that will pick up as much junk as possible to keep them clear. Now, on to the Shark vacuum.I got tired of lugging around the Rainbow and wanted to look into a vacuum that my daughter could use and help out.I found this Shark vacuum and 6 others that grabbed my attention.I dug deep. I read through every review, good, bad, indifferent.I wanted a vacuum that was going to truly pick up pet hair/dander, as well as pick up sand & dirt.I was drawn to this specific vacuum saying pet & allergen vacuum and loved that so many of the reviews said it had amazing suction power.I thought there’s no way ut can be as amazing as most were raving about. After 2 months of digging and narrowing down vacuums, I was left with this one. I finally decided to purchase it and see what all the fuss was about. It came in today and I immediately out it together to the it out.I had just vacuumed with my Rainbow vacuum 2 days before, so I didn’t expect much.Oh….my….gosh…! I am blown away! Seriously, no joke! The picture you see attached was after 2 passes over a 2′ x 2′ area in my living room. Not kidding…pushed it forward, pulled it back. Did this one other time. I was completely astonished! There is no way my carpet is that dirty after using my Rainbow 2 days before! I swore by that vacuum and how great of a job it did, so I thought. This vacuum pulled out dirt, sand, pet fur from 3 families ago, it seems lol.I immediately took this picture and dumped the resivoir since it was full.I was excited to finish the rest of my living room and then move on to the rest of the house. It took me 30 minutes to vacuum my living room because I had to keep stopping to empty the reservoir. I am grossed out that it was that dirty, but so grateful that I purchased this Shark vacuum. The vacuum is super easy to put together. It’s not heavy and is easy to use.I love that it has the large vacuum and the option to break it down to a hand held vacuum to get baseboards and hard to reach areas.I also love that the power switch has 3 positions; Off, Bare floor, and carpet.I love that there is a place on the vacuum for hose attachments.I love that the power cable is quite long.I love that it’s compact enough to fit in my coat closet, but large enough to vacuum the living room quicker than the sport vacuum. It makes vacuuming a breeze. The price is amazing for being a Shark vacuum. This vacuum is so amazing that I finished vacuuming, rinsed the resivoir and filter, put it away, and immediately sat down to write this review.Seriously give this vacuum a try!Your only regret is that you didn’t get it sooner.I will update this review if anything changes.I am convinced this is the perfect vacuum.”

Customer Review: “I have been a Dyson monster owner for many years. This shark does better on several fronts. It is more maneuverable and has a lower profile front head so you can reach under cabinets to baseboards which the monster simply would not do. I realize Dyson has probably upgraded in this area I am comparing to an older model because that is what I have. Suction on the shark is awesome beats out the Dyson although again my Dyson is older and maybe a bit leakier in the seals. Biggest thing on this Shark which really is a game changer for me is the ability to pick up the vacuum with the handle and then vacuum using the wand in other hand ( this is shown on the box package) and really makes cleaning stairs so much easier. I have a flight of wood stairs. it was always a thrash with a Dyson because I would have to leave the base and use the long hose and wand which was always annoying to manage. this shark you can carry along with you and just vacuum as you go cuts the time and headache on stairs considerably and in fact with old Dyson I usually often would just skip doing the stairs and let them get dirtier and dirtier so much was it annoying. This is a seamless move from vacuuming the floor to lifting off the wand and walking up the stairs and vacuuming. Can also change attachments on the fly while vacuuming in carry mode. I will say the weight and balance of this vacuum when using on the floor is a bit heavier as other users have mentioned but unless you were doing a lot of vacuuming on a very large space or have strength issues this not an issue. I like the clasps that hook on the dust container on this vacuum the dysons were always a bit perilous if you pushed one wrong button you could dump the thing open when transporting it. Also I never felt super comfortable lifting the vacuum using the handle on my Dyson because it felt like you could rip the dustbin off if not careful (outward pull). This feels more secure. Durability remains to be seen as I’ve had Dyson about 10 years so that is a plus although have replaced a few parts along way… Hoses especially. One thing I don’t like as much about the is when I empty the shark the dust container has some tubes/structure in which debris tends to get hung up on when I empty. Have to mess with it a bit more to fully dump. the Dyson it was easy to just open and dump the whole thing out one shot. Overall awesome value great features. Unless it dies real early… I’m a fan”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “As a professional cleaner of 8.5 years I’ve used every sort of vacuum out there. I needed something for carpets and hard floors that was lightweight, cost effective (and worked great for my own personal use. My home has three levels and I wanted something small I could quickly grab and clean with. My favorite vac ever is a Miele canister but it’s not great for my thicker carpets (but she’s the best I’ve ever used). Sharks have great suction (and getting pricey) but don’t last a year- at least for me as much as I use them.I read most of the reviews for this on here before purchasing. Let me tell ya- I’m so glad I bought this little gem. She’s ALMOST the perfect mix between an upright and stick vac-PLEASE someone make that!!Pros:It’s tall!!! Taller than any vacuum I’ve ever seen. Wasn’t expecting that.Quality- NOT cheap plastic. It’s thick and durable same any Shark stick I’ve used and the likeSuction!! It’s amazing!! Someone complained that 4 amps isn’t enough…. That’s not how vacuums work- 4 amps is plenty- it’s how the motor uses it is what matters (higher the amp is a marketing ploy). This little guy has the power and punch almost if not the same as any full size upright that I’ve used.Beater brush is awesome- beautiful lines on my carpet (actual carpet not just rugs) and picked up an embarrassing amount of dirt /dust in a small area. Not sure on the hair cutting feature yet- I don’t have high hopes for that because I’ve never seen such a thing but we’ll see over time (I have long hair).Weight- she is a heavy little thing but no heavier than most stick vacs and has a good balance while using.Sharp looking vacuum, nice sized attachments, 24 foot cord (that’s awesome btw) lights on the head- thank you! Lots of cleaning options for the attachments low and high.Noise- not that noisy, someone complained about that- I think it’s quieter than most vacs- certainly not noticeably loud.Filter placement- thank you for putting it on the front!! Sharks are usually on the back and I hit it while cleaning and they fly off with dirt going everywhere ( eyeroll). Yes it’s a thin little filter- but all stick vacs are that I’ve used. What is it supposed to be?- I saw someone complain about that too.Rubber wheels!! Wasn’t expecting that at all given the price- I figured they’d be plastic. And she turns on a dime.CONS- no place for the attachments, not a deal breaker but kinda annoying.Doesn’t stand up on its own but I didn’t expect that with such a heavy too and knew before purchasing. I know there are some out there but I’ve never used one that stands on its own- only against a wall. Not a deal breaker. I store in a closet with the top detached (I’m not poking anymore holes in my walls lol)I don’t have anymore complaints. For the price, Im thrilled with what I see. Kenmore- you did good on this one. And I’ll note kenmore makes some decent full size uprights but this little guy is better than any of those I’ve used.”

Customer Review: “This vacuum is easy to maneuver and not too heavy, I would say medium weight but not light weight. It has great suction power and picks up everything from my carpet so far. It works well on carpets as well as hard wood floors. It does not run on batteries. It’s corded so you don’t have to worry about the battery running out which is what I wanted. The cord is very long so you can do at least 3 rooms before you have to plug it into another outlet. My favorite thing about this vacuum is that it has a feature that cuts up hair as it picks it up and doesn’t stay on the roller. It’s easy to empty out just push the 2 levers and snap lid back in place. Noise level is a normal vacuum noise not too loud. I like the fact that the head has a swivel and can get into corners easily without any hard pushing. Also, it’s a great price. I think you get good value for your money with this vacuum.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This is my third Shark vacuum and there is a reason I keep buying them! They just work, period. My daughter is moving into her own apartment for the first time and wanted the same Shark we already had. It doesn’t seem to still be available so I let her take it with her and got a new one for myself. I do also own a lift away but find it a little too heavy to carry around. The super long hose on this item achieves the same thing and is way easier to use. Assembly was very easy and no tools were needed. All of the components just click into place and probably took two minutes to assemble. I have learned over time that the two included attachments are the only ones I really use and both can be stored right onboard the vacuum. I love that both the foam and felt filters can be rinsed in water and do not need to be repurchased. That being said, I usually buy another set anyway so that I can rinse one set and still be able to use the vacuum while they completely dry out. As for the performance, it works really well. The ability to easily adjust the level of suction right from the handle means that I can go from a throw rug, to an area rug, to a wood floor quickly and easily. The swivel operates flawlessly and makes maneuvering a breeze. And the extension of the hose is great. To reach the ceiling, I don’t have to do any heavy lifting or stretching. The dust bin is quite large and is also easy to release and empty. This particular item might not have a tons of bells and whistles, but it just works. For 95% of my tasks, it’s all I need. And it is a great value! Every single one of my Shark vacuums are still working great, and I’m sure this item is no exception. For the price, it has everything I need and really exceeded my expectations once I used it. I don’t see any reason to spend three or fours times the cost of this item on any other vacuum, when this item does the job. Highly recommended!”

Customer Review: “Wow, love this vacuum. Lighter and swivel makes vacuuming a breeze. Super easy setup. Great suction. Great price.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This Shark CarpetXpert is a game-changer for our high-traffic family room! We have two dogs and a kid, and the carpet was looking pretty sad. I used a different brand shampooer for years, but this one is SO much easier to push (it’s lighter) and the cleaning results are visibly better. The dirty water tank was actually brown after one pass—I was shocked at how much grime it pulled up. The carpet felt and looked renewed. It’s not a quick process, but for a deep clean every few months, it’s worth it. Setup and cleanup are straightforward. Highly recommend for anyone serious about carpet maintenance.”

Customer Review: “I was skeptical about buying another carpet cleaner (my last one was a clunky rental), but this one is worth every penny. It’s surprisingly light and the wheels glide easily over our thick pile carpet. I used it on a few spots where our puppy had accidents and some old food stains. The stain remover solution worked wonders, and the powerful suction pulled all the dirty water out. The areas are now not only clean but dry to the touch within a couple of hours. The attachments for stairs and upholstery are great too. It’s stored in my garage and I bring it out when needed—perfect for our home.”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Shark Vaccum For Carpet

Essential Factors We Consider

When choosing a Shark vacuum for carpet, the first decision is type: upright, stick, or dedicated carpet cleaner. Uprights like the Navigator series offer the most powerful agitation and deep cleaning for thick carpets. Stick vacs (corded or cordless) prioritize convenience and lightweight maneuverability for low-to-medium pile. Carpet cleaners/shampooers are for periodic deep extraction. Next, consider suction power (measured in air watts or Pa/Kpa), brushroll type (self-cleaning is best for pet hair), and filtration (HEPA is essential for allergies). Maneuverability (swivel steering) and weight are crucial for ease of use. Finally, dust cup capacity and cord length (or battery runtime for cordless) affect practical, whole-home cleaning efficiency.

Budget Planning

Shark vacuums for carpets range from under $150 for basic stick vacs to over $300 for premium uprights with all features. For a reliable, full-featured upright with HEPA filtration and Lift-Away, budget $200-$300. Cordless stick vacs with strong suction and long runtime start around $250-$400. A dedicated carpet cleaner like the CarpetXpert typically costs $150-$250. Remember, the best value often comes from a previous-year model (like the NV352 or NV356E) which retains core performance at a lower price. Always weigh the specific features you need against the cost.

Final Thoughts

Shark’s dominance in the vacuum market is no accident—they consistently engineer machines that balance power, innovation, and value. For carpet cleaning, their Navigator line remains the gold standard for uprights, offering unmatched versatility. The cordless stick category is rapidly improving, with models now strong enough for many carpets. And for true deep cleaning, their dedicated extractors are top-tier. There is no single “best” for everyone, but there is a perfect Shark vacuum for your specific carpet type, home layout, and budget. Use this guide to match the model’s strengths to your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are Shark vacuums good for deep cleaning thick carpet?

A: Yes, absolutely. Shark’s Navigator upright vacuums are specifically engineered with powerful suction and motorized brushrolls that agitate and lift deeply embedded dirt and pet hair from thick carpet piles. Models with self-cleaning brushrolls (like the ZU503AMZ) are especially effective as they maintain peak performance without hair wrap.

Q: Which Shark vacuum is best for pet hair on carpet?

A: For pet hair, prioritize models with a self-cleaning brushroll (e.g., Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU503AMZ) or a Hair Eliminator nozzle (e.g., Kenmore CS2015). These features actively prevent hair from winding around the roller, which is the primary cause of lost suction. The Anti-Allergen Complete Seal with HEPA filter is also critical to trap pet dander.

Q: Should I get a corded or cordless Shark vacuum for carpets?

A: Corded uprights and stick vacs provide unlimited runtime and typically stronger suction for deep carpet cleaning, making them ideal for whole-home cleaning. Cordless stick vacs offer unparalleled convenience and freedom of movement, perfect for quick cleanups, multi-level homes, or smaller carpeted areas. Look for cordless models with high wattage (650W+) and long runtime (60+ mins) for carpet use.

Q: What is the difference between Shark Navigator models (NV352, NV356E, NV360, ZU503AMZ)?

A: The core cleaning system is similar. Key differences are: ZU503AMZ has the self-cleaning brushroll. NV360 has the largest dust cup. NV352 & NV356E are standard models with great value; NV356E may have slight accessory differences. NV151 focuses on swivel steering and lacks Lift-Away. Compare based on your priority: pet hair (ZU50), large capacity (NV360), or budget (NV352/NV356E).

Q: Do I need a separate carpet cleaner if I have a Shark vacuum?

A: A standard dry vacuum (like any in this list) is for routine removal of surface dirt, dust, and hair. A dedicated carpet cleaner/shampooer (like the Shark CarpetXpert) is necessary for periodic deep cleaning (every 6-12 months) to remove ground-in stains, odors, and oily residues that a dry vacuum cannot extract. For homes with pets, kids, or high traffic, a dedicated extractor is a worthwhile investment.

Choosing the right Shark vacuum for your carpets comes down to matching the machine’s strengths to your home’s specific needs. Whether you need the deep-cleaning power of an upright like the Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU503AMZ, the cordless freedom of the 650W Stick Vacuum, or the targeted stain-fighting of the StainStriker, Shark has a proven solution. Consider your carpet type, pet situation, and daily cleaning routine to make the best pick. Any of these top 10 models will deliver the powerful, reliable performance Shark is known for.
