Bear in mains that this is not a self propelled model. We tried bleeding off suction, and that did not work. We ended up calling Shark customer service and we were told that this model had a reputation of being hard to push on carpet. Wish we had known this information before we bought one. When we buy a vacuum cleaner, we want one that will do all types of flooring.This Stratos model is lighter and easy to push on carpet. Also works well on tile and hardwood floors. The only negative is that it will not stand up on it’s own, unless you lean it against a wall. That is a small thing and something we can easily live with.It does have a small container for debris, but emptying it is easy.The suction is good. No problem collecting just about anything on the floors.

Customer Review: So far I have used this vacuum twice and It’s a pretty strong stick vacuum. It works really well on carpet and hard floors. I like that it is so versatile. You can use the tools with the stick extension or attach the tools directly to the vacuum for closer jobs. It definitely has a great suction which I love about Shark vacuums. Shark has been one of my favorite brands of vacuum tools. I have used the navigator, i have a cordless hand vacuum that I use to clean my truck that works great and I had a Shark robot vacuum at one point as well. Shark vacuums have just been great machines all around.I will say the reviews about not being able to stand the vacuum up is only somewhat accurate. If the dust bin and motor are attached as you normally would to vacuum your floors then the weight of it will cause it to fall over. The roller brush part isn’t wide enough or heavy enough to hold it up. However, there is a little hook down by the roller on the front of the extension tube that is meant to hold the motor and dust cup. If you remove the motor and place it on the storage hook it will stand up perfectly and become a little more compact. It distributes the weight and BOOM it stands without issues. Love the light on it too. It lit up dust and dirt I couldn’t normally see. I can use it under my bed which I like because my pups like to lay under it with the toy graveyard. It’s a nice machine for a 856 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment. I mostly have hard floors but it works great everywhere. Pretty decent price too for $125. The upholstery tool and brush tool are combined. To use the brush they must be together but to use the upholstery tool you push the release button and the brush will pop off to reveal the upholstery tool. Pretty nifty stuff. As other reviewers mentioned there isn’t a place to store the tools but to me that is a minor inconvenience.

It is simple to switch from off to bare floor to carpet with the button on the handle. The dirt bin has a push button release so I position it over my trash can, push the release button, and wa-lah, it’s empty. No dirt and dust spilling everywhere. The dirt bin is nice and big. I vacuum my entire house where my two long haired cats and I live and only clean the dirt after the entire house is vacuumed. The vacuum head pivots, getting in all of the hard to reach places, and has great suction. I love that it’s light because I’m 57 and want to vacuum my second story stairs easily..this does it. The cord is long so I can clean my entire main floor of 800 SQ ft and only unplug/replug once. Highly recommend!

Customer Review: For decades I have had a wall vacuum unit and I thought it was just okay. Recently the brush head broke and I came onto Amazon to price a replacement. Over a hundred dollars just for the brush head unit! Since I was never in love with the system I started pricing Dysons…all but the cheapest unit was out of my price range and I wasn’t overly impressed with the reviews. So I headed over to the Shark reviews, looked at the various units and found I could get a nice unit for about $50 more than the replacement part for my wall system. Easy to assemble in a minute or so, easy to understand how to use…nice accessories. Since I was in the kitchen when I was putting it together, I decided to try it out first on an area rug my dog lays on (he’s a short haired breed). The rug was about 2×4 no big area here…to say I was impressed was an understatement…I was shocked at the amount of dust and hair the unit picked up effortlessly…actually it was kinda creepy to know all that dirt was in that little rug, it filled the cup about halfway! I put on the floor dusting attachment and finished the kitchen, the cup is now full. Easy enough to empty the cup, I didn’t understand all the whining about this feature in the reviews. Moved onto the dining room, nearly filled the cup again in just that room and it had been recently vacuumed. Moved onto the living room and got about 75% of it done before I had to find a new outlet, I was plugged into the kitchen and I have a big house over 2000 square feet! Filled the cup again and…maybe it was my imagination but my bare feet on the carpet felt cleaner. Easy to maneuver, you don’t have to push it, it self propels forward saving a lot of backache. The other attachments were pretty much what you get with all other units with the exception of the mini ones that can clean you keyboard…I think it might suck up my laptop it’s so powerful, I haven’t used it yet so I can’t comment. Used it some more the next day on more floors and bedroom carpets and was shocked at the amount of dust and hair in the cup. Now I will qualify my statements by saying I have never owned a Dyson, I’ve never even used one so I can’t compare the two. For the difference in price, there is nothing that the Dyson could offer me that I would want or need that the Shark doesn’t already give me. I will also add that I was shocked how light the unit was, with all the “bones” up high by your handle, I thought reaching high with the attachments to get cobwebs off the ceiling would strain my wrist…nope, it was effortless. My ceilings are really high, 20 feet in some areas and I was able to get to all but the highest points and those areas I could get with a small step stool. As far as how long the unit will last…for the price if it only lasts until the 5 year warranty runs out I will be happy, I’ve spent a whole lot more on units that only had a fraction of the cleaning power that this baby holds. I feel I got a really great value for the price. That you can’t stand it up on it’s own is a minor hassle I can deal with. I recommend this unit highly!

Customer Review: For reference, I was using a Hoover bagless that I’ve had for years, a Deebot robovac that I’ve also had for years, and a Tineco mop and vac that I’ve had a few months. I live in a 1900sqft 1-story house with vinyl plank in the living areas and master, tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, and carpet in 2 bedrooms. I also have a thin, light colored 8×10 area rug. Living here are 2 adults, 2 teen/preteens, one of whom is a wheelchair user, and 2 German Shepherds. The Hoover is so heavy and has started spitting out dust despite new filters. I avoid using it because it’s so hard to use.Pros: The new Shark had exceeded my expectations in almost every way. I wanted a light weight vac that I wouldn’t put off using because it was too heavy and cumbersome. I wanted one that I didn’t have to mount anything on the wall to store. I needed something that could deal with the dog hair and tracked in dirt. The Shark does all of those things. It picks up dirt and hair better than the Hoover, and because of the light that I didn’t think I needed, I can actually see what’s there. I like how it comes apart to store. It’s super maneuverable, getting under/into places that have probably never been vacuumed. It seems to pick up things near the wall well (something my Tineco mop fails at).Cons: I didn’t realize it not being able to stand on it’s own would be a little inconvenient. I was thinking storage only, so didn’t really care, but if I’m in the middle of vacuuming a room and need to move something, I have to find a place to prop the Shark. Same with the cord. I would love to have a self-rewinding cord on this thing. To me, the worst part is having to wrap it around the hooks. I also think the dust bin could be a little bigger, although with 2 GSDs, I’m going to empty it pretty much every time anyway. Lastly, there doesn’t seem to be anywhere onboard to store the 2 small tools that come with it. They will be lost in no time.Overall, the drawbacks wouldn’t keep me from buying again. Customer Review: Love the sweeper if I had to do it all over I would never buy it from this company. I have a secret that I got before this company and they still haven’t refunded my money. They received a sweeper on January 22 and it is now February 3 still haven’t received anything this vacuum was brand new never used it and have not received my refund from them. I love this this vacuum, but I would buy it from shark because the company but they sell it for is not allowable company and I like Amazon a lot. This vacuum is true to its word. The battery last 70 minutes I can clean my whole downstairs with it and another battery is available if you wanna buy it to extend your power it is a wonderful vacuum.

I got it a few days ago and have used it everyday since. I have 3 dogs, one being a Bernese Mountain Dog, and dog hair and dirt is always an issue. The vacuum does a great job picking all of it up. On hardwood and carpet. Its great. I love that it can reach underneath our couch. It is light weight compared to my last one. It comes in a decent sized box, but took a couple minutes to unpackage everything and easy to assemble. Everything snaps together within minutes and is ready to use ASAP.

We also have two cats (certainly not nearly enough to be considered overrun, even less a feline rescue home), and those two little darlings track litter. Lots of litter. Between times hauling out our heavy vacuum, I’ve been using a cordless car vac to collect all the little white grains of litter off of the hardwood. Well, our daughter-in-law recently visited, saw me with the car vac (immediately took over), and enthusiastically recommended this cordless Shark upright. She extolled how great it is in cleaning floors, how I’d love the cordless feature, and how much better it would be for me to not be using the car vac. She was absolutely correct. I love this vacuum! It’s quiet, holds its charge for roughly 40-45 minutes, is easy to maneuver, and most important, takes care of all the kitty litter along with dust and cat hairs. The rotating blades are very efficient and seemingly act to leave the floors looking like they’ve been polished. It’s not exactly what I’d call lightweight , but it’s not too burdensome. It took me awhile to study the manual (which was easy to print off the internet), but the various attachments, filters, and modes of operation are pretty much intuitive. I’ve found I can do the entire hardwood floors 3X on one charge, and I’ve easily taken apart and cleaned the bin and filters each time the vacuum has needed recharging. Based on the manual, that frequency is unnecessary, but I like to keep the vacuum as clean as possible. I have only two minor complaints which do not detract from the 5 star rating: 1) I wish the battery charge indicator light were placed on top rather than on the side so that it’d be easy to glance at while the vacuum is in use. As it is, I know generally when I’m close to running out of power, but the end has also come as a surprise (and it always comes without warning). A visible, low power warning light would be helpful in timing more closely what specific areas to clean first; and 2) the HEPA filter doesn’t lift out on ours. The instructions I read and the Shark Company video I watched—along with other videos—show it just lifting out easily. Ours is clearly not moving. It doesn’t appear by any stretch as if it’s put in crooked, but it’s not budging. I figure when the time comes for cleaning it, I’ll have to take it to a vacuum repair shop, as I’m not about to force it loose. BTW, I’ve not used this vacuum on carpets. I know it’s supposed to work well on any flooring, but our carpets have a deep pile and I figure the Shark would lose power quickly in that environment plus the standard upright vacuum we have does an excellent job. The Shark has its established niche in my cleaning routine and it’s a very welcome addition!

Customer Review: My house has ALL wood, bamboo and tile floors. I’ve said over the years that I wanted a maid to come in and just do the floors. A pregnancy injury left me in pain most of the time and floors are really hard for me. I started with a robot vacuume that I love love love. Next I wanted an electric mop. After reading all the reviews, the corded plug in Shark Hydrovac is what I bought. I am reading poor reviews here under this product, but they continually mention the weak battery. My review is for the corded plug in vacuume not a cordless model. My floors have never been cleaner. I used the vacuume over the course of two days and about 10 hours for an initial clean. The bamboo floor is only six years old and sealed. That floor was so easy to clean, although I still cleaned it three times over since it hasn’t been cleaned in over six months. The kitchen tile was super easy too, although it doesn’t reach the grout, my daughter is young and took on the challenge to clean the grout with a nifty grout brush I found. The hard part to clean is the 30 year old wood floors with areas where the seal is worn off. We bought the house from someone who’s dogs had scratched the floors and wore off the finish in high traffic areas. This was the hard part to clean the first time. I did the same as with the bamboo and cleaned it the times over. After it was done, I realized there were areas of built up dirt on the unsealed areas I had not been getting clean. I decided to go back and clean this area by hand with a scrub brush to get it where I wanted. After that the floors have been a snap to keep clean. I’ve put in about 20 hours with the vacuume so far and have had zero problems. Some reviews say you can’t vacuume and mop together. I didn’t even try that. I vacuume with the robot first, then mop. I don’t want to risk scratching the floor with a gritty mop. It is super easy to clean. The clean tank chines right out with the push of a button. The dirty tank is the same way. I dump it in the sink, rinse it and either use it again or put it on a towel to drain and dry. There is a sponge on the filter that I rinse and squeeze and put on the towel to dry. The beater bar comes out easily. I rinse under the faucet in the kitchen sink and squeeze by grabbing the bar and turning it around with the other hand. Again, I either put it back on the mop to keep cleaning or leave it on its end to dry on the towel. The vacuume without the beater bar and without the dirty tank, has a very short tube between the two that cleans easily with a bottle brush that is not included, but I already own it. All these parts are removable and replaceable with one hand. I find it easy to use, easy to empty the dirty tank and easy to refill the clean tank. The mop has a self clean feature that works pretty well, but I found that it is easy enough to clean it the way I described above and decided that is rather care for it myself and allow the parts to all dry completely. I’ve had zero issues with mold or a moldy smell. My floors are cleaner than they have been in years and are easy to maintain after the initial clean I have them. Note, I have a corgi dog that sheds all year. The robot vacuume and the Shark mop have changed my life. I don’t leave the house covered in fur anymore. Once a week I vacuume and mop, or one other day in between if we are all off work for holidays and tracking more dust and dirt. Everyone in the house is impressed with his easily the floor is kept in a very clean and neat state. Along with the robot vacuume, this mop is the best investment I’ve made in householt cleaning tools,ever.

It left quite a bit of water on the floor too. Cleaning it was gross but I was sure to do it properly each time.)I am the owner of 3 different SHARK vacs and they’re all terrific for their type of machine.The MESSMASTER works just as I’d hoped. Good suction for cleaning solution, good brush action for soil too. My floor looks great.The cherry on top is the “auto clean” feature. WOW. A big time saver and the brush roll looks clean. I am leaving the brush open along with the solution container to air dry. SHARK is the better appliance.
