Customer Review:
This was my 2nd purchase of this product. Very happy with the operation and strong vacume feature. The sprayer works much like a other units with a spray and mop feature. However, this unit must have been damaged and tye cleaning solution leaked out from the bottom quickly. (Assuming the tank or hose is cracked or defective.I contacted Shark CS through the provided info on Amazon. The agent politely and effeciciantly reviewed the problem and they are sending a replacement unit in 7/10 days. No cost to me. I’m very happy with this product and how well it works. Very light and easy to handle. Tossing the replaceable used pads is just a push if a button. Don’t have to touch the dirty pads at all.Perfect for a quick clean up on all hand floors. And the vacume container holds a surprisingly good amount of dirt.I have 2 heavy shedding Aussies and this make my daily sweeps and spot cleaning super easy. And charges quickly.Great for hard surface stairways as well. Good product for the money. And Customer service was great.Great product,
Customer Review:
I love this vacmop! It still amazes me that I got it for $40! We have 3 heavy shedding dogs and this thing helps me keep my sanity! It works great with picking up their fur and other dirt that gets tracked in. I’ve had it for nearly 6 months and it still seems brand new. I love that it’s lightweight and easily rechargeable, too. The only downfall people may have is that you have to buy additional attachable pads after you use up the ones it comes with. It is still well worth it, in my opinion. I also buy the Shark refillable liquid multi floor cleaner for the mopping feature. It comes with one small bottle. I highly recommend this vacmop!! If this one ever stops working, I will buy another.

Customer Reviews
Customer Review:
My house has ALL wood, bamboo and tile floors. I’ve said over the years that I wanted a maid to come in and just do the floors. A pregnancy injury left me in pain most of the time and floors are really hard for me. I started with a robot vacuume that I love love love. Next I wanted an electric mop. After reading all the reviews, the corded plug in Shark Hydrovac is what I bought. I am reading poor reviews here under this product, but they continually mention the weak battery. My review is for the corded plug in vacuume not a cordless model. My floors have never been cleaner. I used the vacuume over the course of two days and about 10 hours for an initial clean. The bamboo floor is only six years old and sealed. That floor was so easy to clean, although I still cleaned it three times over since it hasn’t been cleaned in over six months. The kitchen tile was super easy too, although it doesn’t reach the grout, my daughter is young and took on the challenge to clean the grout with a nifty grout brush I found. The hard part to clean is the 30 year old wood floors with areas where the seal is worn off. We bought the house from someone who’s dogs had scratched the floors and wore off the finish in high traffic areas. This was the hard part to clean the first time. I did the same as with the bamboo and cleaned it the times over. After it was done, I realized there were areas of built up dirt on the unsealed areas I had not been getting clean. I decided to go back and clean this area by hand with a scrub brush to get it where I wanted. After that the floors have been a snap to keep clean. I’ve put in about 20 hours with the vacuume so far and have had zero problems. Some reviews say you can’t vacuume and mop together. I didn’t even try that. I vacuume with the robot first, then mop. I don’t want to risk scratching the floor with a gritty mop. It is super easy to clean. The clean tank chines right out with the push of a button. The dirty tank is the same way. I dump it in the sink, rinse it and either use it again or put it on a towel to drain and dry. There is a sponge on the filter that I rinse and squeeze and put on the towel to dry. The beater bar comes out easily. I rinse under the faucet in the kitchen sink and squeeze by grabbing the bar and turning it around with the other hand. Again, I either put it back on the mop to keep cleaning or leave it on its end to dry on the towel. The vacuume without the beater bar and without the dirty tank, has a very short tube between the two that cleans easily with a bottle brush that is not included, but I already own it. All these parts are removable and replaceable with one hand. I find it easy to use, easy to empty the dirty tank and easy to refill the clean tank. The mop has a self clean feature that works pretty well, but I found that it is easy enough to clean it the way I described above and decided that is rather care for it myself and allow the parts to all dry completely. I’ve had zero issues with mold or a moldy smell. My floors are cleaner than they have been in years and are easy to maintain after the initial clean I have them. Note, I have a corgi dog that sheds all year. The robot vacuume and the Shark mop have changed my life. I don’t leave the house covered in fur anymore. Once a week I vacuume and mop, or one other day in between if we are all off work for holidays and tracking more dust and dirt. Everyone in the house is impressed with his easily the floor is kept in a very clean and neat state. Along with the robot vacuume, this mop is the best investment I’ve made in householt cleaning tools, ever.
Customer Review:
This is the corded version. Not sure why people are reviewing the cordless version on this page.It shuts off when the tank needs to be emptied. Empty the tank and it magically works again. The cleaner it comes with sucks. I don’t recommend it. I use a tablespoon of Mr. Clean with few drops of bleach. and it’s been great. I can do my entire kitchen, living and dining area with one solution mixture. I have used it on my Berber carpet, and it works very well. I just omit the bleach if I use it on the carpet. It takes less than half the time of sweeping/vacuuming and mopping. I have engineered laminate flooring, and the water dries much quicker than it did when I used a mop.I highly recommend this but I also recommend you read the instructions that come with it. The power cord is pretty long. Long enough for me to NOT have to unplug it and find another outlet to plug it in.The cleaning feature is really easy to use. Empty the discard tank. Put it back. Put the machine on it’s base. Turn it on. Let it do it’s thing. It will shut itself off. Empty discard tank again and rinse it out really well. I let mine dry for about an hour before putting it back just so I don’t get that musky smell that floor cleaners tend to get. This is also very lightweight and self propelling so you don’t have to be Hercules to use it.Great quality for the price.

The media could not be loaded. One of my favorite household purchases to date!We are a busy family with 4 kids and multiple dogs (who like to get muddy), and our Shark keeps up! We have primarily LVP flooring throughout our home, and the pads and solution leave no streaks or sticky residue. I can use this without vacuuming before, and it still manages to collect all the dust and hair and dirt. It has great battery life and is lightweight and so easy to use. Does not take long to charge at all! I have used different mopping floor cleaners if I run out, but the Shark is best and leaves my house smelling great. It is great value for the money, and I have purchased this for gifts and always recommend to those looking for a great vac mop. 10/10!

Customer Review:
Works well. Does what it says. I saw a lot of reviews saying it left swirly dirt marks but I think it’s honestly just getting old dirt up that I never could before, so it’s worth it to use this a couple of times for a deep clean, and then just use for maintenance. I’m excited to go over all my floors a few times with this and get them nice and clean. I rent and the floors have really needed a deep clean for a while now. It doesn’t really get corners or nooks/tight spaces very well, but I have baseboards I need to clean anyway so it’s not a big deal for me to get the corners on my own. I have a small place but the water reservoir held enough for me to go over my kitchen and bathroom once, and that was me going pretty slow and keeping the pads in one spot for a while to really scrub. I vacuumed first but it did catch some hair and things that the vacuum missed which was nice. I can easily wash the pads by hand which I prefer rather than putting them in the washing machine. Overall this is a great product for someone that has a small place and no room for a bucket to mop regularly. I’d probably use it if I had a larger house as well but the reservoir might have to be refilled pretty often on your first few cleans. It’s also probably not the hottest steamer out there, I have a handheld one that I think gets a bit hotter. This product is designed for emergency shut off so expect it to turn off if you try to maneuver it into a small space. Personally, it doesn’t bother me because I’d rather it have the safety features and heat control. I don’t think this product necessarily saves more time than using a scrub mop and some elbow grease for a “deep” clean, as you will probably have to go over your floor a few times with it. What I do appreciate about it however is it eliminates the hard work of scrubbing, which gets old fast. Just keep in mind it doesn’t scrub harder than you probably can by hand. I can definitely scrub harder by hand.
Customer Review:
this is a pretty amazing piece of kit. Fill up with water, plug it in wiat a bit for it to heat up and then it does an amazing job of cleaning up. Got rid of a lot of tough stuff that had been spilled on my kitchen floor. I have a back injury and hard scrubbing or traditional mopping are not a thing for me. This took care of everything for me. Simple to assemble, easier to use. Make sure to get the extra pad (separate order). It works great!

I have not used this but a few days but with all the bad reviews I have read on different platforms I thought I would give my view. I love this thing!! It is perfect for what I need. I can control the amount of solution I use. It seems to clean very well! It is small. May not be the best solution for large spaces but I did my entire downstairs perfectly with no issues. It probably should have been emptied at least once in my time cleaning, but was not overflowing. It is so easy to clean as well. I will say I did a full vacuumed first but I would have done that anyway. I have 4 cats and a lot of hair on the floor. The light did allow me to see spaces I missed with the vacuum and I loved that. I have tried other power floor mops and this one is the best so far. I love the Shark brand though and have never gone wrong with any of their products
Customer Review:
I really wanted to like the SHARK HYDRODUO with dirt reveal, but it’s been a huge letdown. The vacuum is weak and barely picks anything up, and the mop just drags dirty water around, leaving streaks everywhere. It feels like I’m just smearing dirt instead of actually cleaning. It’s also a pain to clean the device itself, which only adds to how unsanitary it feels. I’ve found it much more effective to vacuum or sweep first with a separate tool and then mop with something else. Honestly, using this combo tool is more frustrating and less hygienic than just doing things the old-fashioned way. I wish I could return it, but I already threw away the box. Total waste of money.

If you have floors, this is the best vacuum you can own.It might be pricey, however, it’s just great for picking up small crumbs and debris, pet hair on the floor. We have cat litter and birds, and this vacuum can pick up all. The vacuum is not too loud and moves around on the floor effortlessly. It’s lightweight and swivels perfectly to navigate corners. This vacuum is easy to empty the holder with just one press, and the container empties instantly.I used to use a hand held vacuum to get fine particles and now, I use this cordless vacuum from Shark. We have the circular Shark cordless vacuum that can vacuum the whole home, however, it often gets clogged or needs to recharge to finish the home. This upright stick vacuum is something I should have purchased years ago. Also, it is something easy to put together.….I did buy the protection plan because I am so tired of vacuums that just stop working and then I need to buy a new one.
Customer Review:
Nice and compact, powerful suction for the price, attachments work great. Is really good for cleaning dirt under the coffee table and cat litter around the litter box area. I love that it changes settings automatically between hard floor and carpet. My only complaint is the dust container size, if you have pets you pretty much have to empty the container after each use which isn’t the biggest deal, but would love to have maybe an option from the manufacturer to get a bigger container to attach. All in all really happy with the purchase.

Customer Review:
For decades I have had a wall vacuum unit and I thought it was just okay. Recently the brush head broke and I came onto Amazon to price a replacement. Over a hundred dollars just for the brush head unit! Since I was never in love with the system I started pricing Dysons…all but the cheapest unit was out of my price range and I wasn’t overly impressed with the reviews. So I headed over to the Shark reviews, looked at the various units and found I could get a nice unit for about $50 more than the replacement part for my wall system. Easy to assemble in a minute or so, easy to understand how to use…nice accessories. Since I was in the kitchen when I was putting it together, I decided to try it out first on an area rug my dog lays on (he’s a short haired breed). The rug was about 2×4 no big area here…to say I was impressed was an understatement…I was shocked at the amount of dust and hair the unit picked up effortlessly…actually it was kinda creepy to know all that dirt was in that little rug, it filled the cup about halfway! I put on the floor dusting attachment and finished the kitchen, the cup is now full. Easy enough to empty the cup, I didn’t understand all the whining about this feature in the reviews. Moved onto the dining room, nearly filled the cup again in just that room and it had been recently vacuumed. Moved onto the living room and got about 75% of it done before I had to find a new outlet, I was plugged into the kitchen and I have a big house over 2000 square feet! Filled the cup again and…maybe it was my imagination but my bare feet on the carpet felt cleaner. Easy to maneuver, you don’t have to push it, it self propels forward saving a lot of backache. The other attachments were pretty much what you get with all other units with the exception of the mini ones that can clean you keyboard…I think it might suck up my laptop it’s so powerful, I haven’t used it yet so I can’t comment. Used it some more the next day on more floors and bedroom carpets and was shocked at the amount of dust and hair in the cup. Now I will qualify my statements by saying I have never owned a Dyson, I’ve never even used one so I can’t compare the two. For the difference in price, there is nothing that the Dyson could offer me that I would want or need that the Shark doesn’t already give me. I will also add that I was shocked how light the unit was, with all the “bones” up high by your handle, I thought reaching high with the attachments to get cobwebs off the ceiling would strain my wrist…nope, it was effortless. My ceilings are really high, 20 feet in some areas and I was able to get to all but the highest points and those areas I could get with a small step stool. As far as how long the unit will last…for the price if it only lasts until the 5 year warranty runs out I will be happy, I’ve spent a whole lot more on units that only had a fraction of the cleaning power that this baby holds. I feel I got a really great value for the price. That you can’t stand it up on it’s own is a minor hassle I can deal with. I recommend this unit highly!
Customer Review:
So far so good. I don’t have much to add that hasn’t already been covered. This is the first and only product I’ve ever actually ordered because I sat through a late night infomercial (or three) for said product. It just seemed like it would really be exactly what we needed in our new home. Our house is almost entirely bare travertine tile. So our big, heavy traditional canister vacuum designed for carpet and pet hair just isn’t appropriate here.Unboxing was fine. I was up and running to show it off to my mom-in-law in no time. I got it hung on the wall in our utility room with no problems, though I wish they did include more hooks, or maybe even an organized attachments caddy to hang so I don’t just throw everything in the included bag. Good cord management would be a nice add as well.In the trial runs, it handled the tile perfectly. My bare feet picked up no dust or grit after a pass with the Rocket. It also did a fine job on a new cotton & jute rug, pulling up all the loose fibers and such before they could spread all over the house.Suction is good. Maneuverability is good, if not a little loose. The plastics don’t feel altogether durable, but I do expect it will last a while. It’s a vacuum after all; it doesn’t exactly get abused.I like that it is lightweight and maneuverable; that it has a nice, long cord; that it hangs out of the way on the wall; that it handles bare floors better and easier than sweeping & swiffering; and that it’s easy to empty and clean.I wish it stood upright on its own; that the bare floor attachment had a cord hook like the carpet head does; and…well I guess that’s about it.I got the one with the little car kit and such since it was the cheapest on sale. But I don’t know when I’ll actually use that. Pretty nice little set of tools if you ever so want to get into the cracks & crevices, I suppose.

Customer Review:
Great Product!!!!! Using only distilled water for steam it cleaned my kitchen floor very nicely. I used this on ceramic tile in the kitchen and bathroom. Made some hard to clean spots look new again. Got up lots of dirt and grime. Did not make my back hurt like it does with the mop. I cleaned the pads with just some soap and water and the sprayer from the sink. Be careful when you take the pads off they will be hot from the steam. All in all great product for the money me and the hubby are both happy with the results of using the Shark Steam & Scrub cleaner.
Customer Review:
I’m a previous Shark Steamer owner. It was a flat steam mop not rotary. I had this one maybe 10 years. That one got water temps to about 180 degrees. It worked really well but left streaks. I had tried other steamers that promised to get water temps to 212 degrees which is boiling point for water. They all failed within months. Too small and too hot. So I continued to use my old Shark Steamer with ok results. I prefer the idea of steaming for cleaning vs the chemical solution for other store bought mops.I bought this one in December 2025, just before Christmas because the old steamer died. I am very pleased. The things I like include the following.1. Bigger water tank. I can steam clean more before taking the time to refill. The old one took 3 fills to do a small clean like the kitchen and bathrooms. Today I did a much more thorough cleaning, rolling up rugs, moving furniture etc. This was a longer clean time. I filled twice. Very happy.2. I didn’t know if I would like the roller pads as never using before. It actually works well. It is so much easier to move the steamer over the floor and I think it cleans better. Also, I don’t get the streaking I got with the old machine. I’m very pleased.3. It is light weight and easy to maneuver.4. Steam: So the pads are wet with the steam water and you have a button to push for more steam if you need it. Very nice. Needless to say, I get enough steam to clean the floor. Very happy.5. The prompts ask about scent? I don’t know why. I do put a bit of vinegar in the distilled water. My preference.6. I use distilled water.7. The pads are easy to snap on and take off once you get the hang of it.Concerns include:1. The cord is stiff. The cord on my first steamer was very pliable. The cord gets wrapped around the 2 hooks on the handle. The question I have is will this decrease the life of the cord? I have no idea. Perhaps with use it will be more flexible. I could be just being “new”. Time will tell.2. The cord is shorted than the Shark steamer I had before. I have added a short extension set for ease.3. The pads work well. They also get very dirty, to be expected. I found that I have to take a strong brush to the the pads before putting them in the washer. Otherwise they come out really cruddy. It’s a small step. The old steamer mop head got ugly pretty fast. I have 2 sets going right now and doing well.Over all, I am very very pleased with this Shark Steamer and would recommend.

I am so pleased with this vac that I have to pass the word. ( Previously , I purchased a Bissel Pet Pro Crosswave. It only worked for about a dozen uses. It left quite a bit of water on the floor too. Cleaning it was gross but I was sure to do it properly each time.)I am the owner of 3 different SHARK vacs and they’re all terrific for their type of machine. The MESSMASTER works just as I’d hoped. Good suction for cleaning solution, good brush action for soil too. My floor looks great. The cherry on top is the “auto clean” feature. WOW. A big time saver and the brush roll looks clean. I am leaving the brush open along with the solution container to air dry. SHARK is the better appliance.
Customer Review:
The media could not be loaded. This is an amazing wet vacuum. I prepped my floors by sweeping/vacuuming any large bits of dirt and trash. I followed the instructions and let the vacuum charge for four hours before using it. It’s a very easy set up. When I put it to use it was wonderful! There was a noticeable difference between the dirty areas of my floors and the area I used this vacuum on. I was able to use this on my entire living room, hallway, and kitchen area and still had plenty of charge. It was not quick to fill up the dirty tank but when it was full it was easy to discard the gross water and the dirt and debris it vacuums. In the video there is a sticky spot that’s been on my floor for days and after a few passes over it, it was clean. Definitely worth the money. Saves your back and saves time. The rinse cycle is quite loud but it does its job well just dry the base with a paper towel or reusable towel once it’s finished to avoid accumulation of water

Complete Buying Guide for Best Shark For Multi Surface Flooring
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing a Shark for multi-surface flooring, the first decision is power source: corded models offer unlimited runtime but less mobility, while cordless ones provide convenience but have battery limits. Next, consider wet/dry capability. Some Sharks are dry vacuums only, while others (like HydroVac and VACMOP) handle both wet and dry messes. Tank capacity matters for wet models—larger tanks mean fewer stops to empty. Maintenance is key: self-cleaning systems (HydroVac) or disposable pads (VACMOP) reduce hassle. Finally, think about your floor types. Steam mops are for sealed hard floors only, while multi-surface vacuums often transition between carpet and hard floor.
Budget Planning
Shark multi-surface cleaners range from under $100 for basic stick vacuums to over $200 for advanced steam mops and wet/dry systems. The VM180 VACMOP offers great value around $40-$60 for what it does. Corded wet/dry models like the WD161 typically cost $150-$200. Steam mops (S8001/S8201) run $120-$180. Factor in ongoing costs: disposable pads and solution refills for VACMOPs, or replacement pads for steam mops. Set a budget that includes these consumables if you choose a pad-based system.
Final Thoughts
There’s no single “best” Shark for every home—it depends on your floor mix, mess types, and lifestyle. For quick daily cleanups on hard floors, the VM180 VACMOP is unbeatable. For deep cleaning hard floors and rugs, the corded WD161 HydroVac delivers. If sanitization without chemicals is a priority, go with an S-series steam mop. And for mixed carpet/hard floor homes, the Freestyle Max or Rocket Pet are strong dry vacuums. Match the tool to your most common cleaning challenges, and you’ll be set.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use Shark VACMOP on carpets?
A: No, VACMOP models (VM180, VM252) are designed for hard floors only. They lack the brushroll agitation for carpets and could damage carpet fibers. Use a dedicated vacuum like the Rocket Pet or Freestyle Max for carpets.
Q: How often should I change Shark VACMOP pads?
A: For regular cleaning, change pads after 2-3 uses or when visibly dirty. The pads trap dirt inside, so once they’re saturated, they won’t pick up more debris. For large spills, use a fresh pad immediately.
Q: Do Shark steam mops work on all hard floors?
A: They work best on sealed surfaces like tile, laminate, vinyl, and sealed wood. Avoid unsealed, waxed, or oiled floors—steam can penetrate and damage them. Always check your floor manufacturer’s recommendations first.
Q: Is the HydroVac MessMaster better corded or cordless?
A: The corded WD161 has stronger suction, unlimited runtime, and larger tanks—ideal for whole-floor cleaning. The cordless WD261 offers convenience for small spaces or quick cleanups but has less power and shorter runtime. Choose based on your area size and need for mobility.
Q: Can I use my own cleaning solution in Shark VACMOPs?
A: While you can use other solutions, Shark recommends their VCM60 refill for optimal performance and pad life. Third-party solutions may cause excess foaming, residue, or pad degradation. For steam mops, only use distilled water to prevent mineral buildup.
Choosing the right Shark for your multi-surface flooring doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Whether you need the all-in-one convenience of the VM180 VACMOP, the deep-cleaning power of the WD161 HydroVac, or the chemical-free sanitation of an S-series steam mop, there’s a Shark model that fits your needs and budget. Remember to consider your primary floor types, mess frequency, and whether you prioritize cordless freedom or uninterrupted power. Check the latest prices and availability on Amazon using the links above—many of these models go on sale regularly, so you can snag a great deal on a cleaner that will make your home sparkle with less effort.
