Customer Review: “As a disclaimer, our home is 1700ft2, and about 2/3 of it is carpeted.The vacuum works phenomenal on the regular carpeting and hardwood in the house, but struggles a little bit with the wool area rug. The variety of ways this vacuum can be assembled makes it extremely versatile. For example, using the regular brush roll head while removing the extension works wonders on the carpeted stairs. The short “handheld” version with the scraper does great on the couch. And the extension, with the small ended nozzle, works great for after the initial vacuuming, getting all the dirt along the edges of the rooms and furniture. It lays down almost flat, so getting under things like the dog food bowls, the couch, the dining room table etc are a breeze.So the reason I made the title the way it is, is related to battery life. To realistically clean our first floor (mostly hardwood/tile + wool rug) and the second floor (totally carpeted) will eat up the entire battery. The battery is NOT fast to charge. The runtime is based I believe on the vacuum running in “handheld mode” (aka without the brush head). So, if you’re home is over 1500ft2 and mostly carpeted, you’re going to have to throw it on the charger for a while most likely. I think it would greatly benefit Shark to come up with swappable batteries, think Milwaukee or DeWalt style. If you’re handy you can do this yourself, but it would greatly benefit the company to have a proprietary design for this.Another con, though I hesitate to call it a con based on the portability of this vacuum, is the power. As mentioned, it does great on our regular carpeting, but just isn’t as good as the corded Shark we’ve had for almost 10 years. This is to be expected as the motor in the corded vac draws significantly more power than the cordless battery version, but still worth mentioning.The vacuum is very light and easy to use. Customer Review: “I got this vacuum after my Sister recommended Shark. It was this or a Dyson, because I decided I’m too old to buy crappy vacuums any longer. My last was a nice Hoover but after 3 years it died.I received the box quickly, however after assembly right out of the box the brush head on the vacuum didn’t work. Instead of going through Amazon I called the 800 # in the pamphlet that came in the box. He quickly ran me thought some troubleshooting and after about 1 minute of info gathering he said, “You need a new lower unit. I will send one out to you today. Unfortunately that means you can’t use your vacuum until you get it, and we sincerely apologize for that.” Two days later, I had the new lower unit, installed it and it works great. There was no wishy-washy instructions on how to return it or “send it back through Amazon” – they just fixed the problem in the fastest way they could. I didn’t even have to send the other lower unit back. Impressive!The vacuum works GREAT. We’ve got two dogs that shed a lot and it did fine with the dog hair and my own relatively long hair. No issues with the brush clogging on either the lower unit or the pet hair attachment. Suction is AMAZING and I love that the lower unit brush turns off when the vacuum is upright. I vacuumed our entire 4-bed house and even at the end when the canister was quite full, it didn’t loose any power. It’s a bit top-heavy, but much better than my sister’s where the canister seems to sit higher on the handle – so this model has more weight lower to the ground, I think. It can be a little tippy, but that’s a small price to pay for the maneuverability of this thing. It gets into places my other vacuums never could. The head is pretty narrow – but again, the size allows it to get between and under things that a bigger one couldn’t.I was worried about the canister…I have had them in the past and hated to empty them. It’s like you’d need to vacuum the mess up after emptying because the dust and dirt just explodes! This canister opens both from the top and the bottom and the filters are not inside of the canister, so you can actually get all the dirt out of it – and if you wanted to, could even clean it out with soapy water. Open the bottom and the stuff drops out. Close it up, flip it over and open the top to the same effect. No shaking, brushing, picking…it just falls out and into the garbage. The filters are easy to remove and easy to wash – let them sit in the dishrack overnight and they’re dry and ready to use the next day.All in all, at 54 I can say with certainty this is the nicest, quietest, most effective vacuum I’ve ever owned. I use the smooth attachment to lightly lift dust from my Amish built tweed sofa. I use the crevice tool to pick up crumbs around the garbage can and I pick up wood pieces from my fireplace hearth. I also use the crevice tool to deep vac my dryer lint trap and my baseboards. I have owned this hand vac for a year and the suction is consistent and amazing. This beats my Dyson AND my Kirby hands down. Superior suction, amazing maneuverability, lighter than either the Kirby or the Dyson. ( If you’re wondering why I own so many vacuums, I clean for a living.) I bought this for the house. I have two cats and a husband who’s into Warhammer so you know there are sprew bits and cat hair everywhere and this thing handles it like a champ! I wasn’t sold on how small the floor attachment was until I used it: I can get underneath my barstools so much easier now and my entire house ( approx. 2000 sq ft.) is done in 20 minutes, tops! There is a learning curve, but that’s something you get with any new vacuum. I was also super impressed by the ease with which I can switch from floor to handheld attachments. Some of these other vacuums I’ve used are so bulky and difficult to handle all the small attachments… Not this one! Customer Review: “I actually was in the market for a new vacuum as there were parts breaking on my Bissell 2999. (Dust buildup inside the motor housing leading to bearing whine, brush roller wear that required modification to prevent additional damage, as well as handle damage that prevented the vacuum handle from staying locked in place and later being unable to be removed as it got jammed slightly at an angle.)Moving on, this is actually a step up, despite having got it at a substantially lower price (99 dollars verse the original Bissell 2999 price being around 200 dollars.) I wanted something that people praised for higher reliability, and this advertised a limited 5 year warranty. I got it, because 99 for a well reviewed vacuum was excellent in idea. I then looked at reviews all over the internet only to find out more and more that the Shark NV360 was way better than expected.My only caveats to date are that it has a smaller agitator head, and that it doesn’t come with a agitator attachment, you’d need to get the Pro version NV356E to get the agitator attachment. It does come with a smaller crevasse tool and a very functional upholstery tool that also worked very very well on the stairs.Suction on this vacuum is amazing. Especially compared to my Bissell 2999. I have Hoover and Bissell Vacuums, and the 2999 was better than my previous vacuums, but oddly not better than this current one from Shark, the NV360 just to keep things clear. The hose diameter is larger, and that typically means less pressure for most vacuums, however, that is not the case here. You really need to be careful when using the attachments as it will suck up a sock you may have got too close too and it’ll all be too fast to recover from anywhere other than the dust bin.Emptying the dustbin is more involved than my Bissell and Hoover vacuums, where a single button press allows you to pull the bin from its’ resting place. In the case of the Shark, you will need to undo two latches that secure the bin in place, but while I thought this would be a bigger problem it has not been. Installing the bin has been a bigger issue than removing it but the process is still really simple. The dual latch does offer the better seal though as it allows for more uniform pressure on the seal under neath and keeps the dust flowing down. It does seem that the foam prefilter would need more cleans than my Bissell 2999 required, but I found that dust released from the Bissell system would agitate my nose a touch, because allergies, while I have had zero incidents of that with the shark. (The Bissell 2999 was still the best I had before I got this NV360 for allergies I experienced, I just thought it was because it was kicking something up but dust patterns formed later in its’ life showing it was some dust leakage.)Moving this around is easier than the Bissell 2999 as well, but that is partially because the base is smaller. Both were swivel style vacuums but the NV360 does better on tighter turns than the Bissell. The smaller head seems to also focus more of the dust into the dust bin. Going over areas the Bissell seamed done with, I found that there was still a ton of dirt and dust embedded into the carpet even after 8 passes with the Bissell. I only knew there was more because even though I wasn’t getting anything more on the 8th pass with the Bissell, going over the same area with the NV360 showed there was still a lot of dust left in the carpet. The Bissell did get all the dog hair though and there was only dust and dirt that the shark was able to extract. (This also lead me to do a carpet clean though, as I have a Bissel carpet cleaner that I really like and I finished the job with that.)My lesson learned though is that even with a great vacuum like the Shark or my previous best Bissell, you may have to vacuum more often than every 3-4 days as that dirt just keeps getting deeper if you dont.Moving on, I am actually very impressed and absolutely can recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs something better. I absolutely can recommend it to anyone who has allergies like me as well. Best vacuum to date. Side note though, when researching vacuums, I did find that the Shark Stratos and Rotator options are more amazing when it comes to airflow and pressure as well as large objects and long hair, but they are between 200 and 300 dollars. For me this is the best option for now, especially seeing it was only 99 dollars when I got it.”

Customer Review: “My Usage and Overall Comments:==============================Have had the Bot for 2-3 weeks now.Mostly used on 2nd floor (bedrooms/bathrooms/Loft area) which is 90% carpet. I mapped this floor only.Occasionally used on 1st floor, which is about 50% carpet. (Not mapped).Overall it seems to do a pretty good job, keeping in mind these Bot Vacs are not meant for DEEP cleaning carpets.Much quieter than my old Neato Botvac80!Cleans my 2nd floor on a single charge with BOOST cleaning, and recharging takes about 3 hours.Overall I feel it’s a good Robot Vac, but wouldn’t spend more than $300 for it.Floor Mapping Review:==============================- My 2nd floor is about 1,000sq ft and it takes about 10-12 mins to map it.- It’s not the greatest at mapping. It will sometimes take 2-3 “Explore” runs for it to get it right because itoccasionally misses entire wall sections.- Adding/Changing/Removing Room Labels and No-Go Zones on the app is pretty easy.If you’re older, it’s easier to do it on a Tablet vs the phone.- I noticed that once it completes the entire cleaning run on the 2nd floor, it seems like it internally compares the resultswith the full map(??), and if it detects area’s that it missed it will go back to them to clean them.When it does do that, it doesn’t always clean them in the most efficient order, often running from one end of thehouse to the other to address these areas. I have also seen this behavior when tasked with cleaning a specific room.It’s will sometimes bounce around in the room getting the spots it feels it missed.- There have been times where I’ve seen it do several clockwise/counter-clockwise spins in the same spot as if it’s tryingto decide where to go next. Sometimes these crazy spins can last 30-40 seconds.- So far no problems with it finding the Base Unit and Docking with it.- Mapping is only required if you need to specify No-Go Zones or want the ability to vac a specific room(s) so you CANdo like in my case, map the most commonly vacuumed floor (ie: 2nd floor) then manually initiate a cleaning for the 1st floor.(see more about mapping in my “CONS” section).Detailed Review:==============================PROS:- It’s fairly quiet. You can actually have a conversation standing next to it as it’s cleaning.- Their SHARK CLEAN app is easy to use. Again, if you are older using it on a Tablet (larger screen0 will be a better experience.- The self-vacuuming / evacuation unit works well, typically removing 95% of the bot vac’s contents.- So far have not had any issues with it getting stuck in a corner, going over room thresholds/transitions, etc.- Bump avoidance it pretty good as long as objects are high enough for the Lidar Sensor to see it.- No issues transitioning between carpet and hardwood/tile surfaces.- Although it may not take the most efficient paths on occasion, and sometimes re-cleans a section(s) 2-3 times during it’s total run,it does appear to do a very through clean, cleaning all the places that it possibly can reach.- It does well respecting No-Go Zones.- Ledge detection works well also, but the fall-off is only detected after about 25% of the bot is hanging over the edge – depending on it’s speed.It can be nerve wracking to watch near stairs!!- The Evacuate and Resume feature is nice to have. (After every 30 mins of cleaning, it will return to the Dock to empty its dust bin thenreturn to clean where it left off.- The Do Not Disturb Schedule works well.- The No-Go Zones work well.- Although I have not tried it as of yet, I’m confident the Recharge and Resume feature will work fine.FYI:- Initial WiFi Setup: I did have an issue trying to pair the Bot with my phone. I think after I rebooted my phone it finally worked.- Annoying – if you remove the Bot’s dust bin while it’s ON, it will complain stating it’s dust bin needs to be replaced.- The foam roll filter in the Docking station gets VERY dirty real fast and needs to be cleaned every 2-3 runs.It’s easy to clean, just tap over a garbage can to get the bulk off, then slide off the foam roll from it’s base and rinse in a sink.Let dry completely before returning to docking station.- The Evacuation system will engage EVERY TIME you return the Bot to the dock. So if you pull the Bot off just to check the roller, as soon as you’re-dock it, the evacuation system will turn on.- The Evacuation system is as loud as a typical upright vacuum, so keep that in mind when deciding on a location for it!!!- I have not tried the SCHEDULED Cleaning at all. I personally prefer to manually initiate when/where I want it to clean.CONS:- I was not able to Register the Bot via the app – kept saying “Something went wrong”. Had to do it online.- The app could use some improvements/updating, like showing the current location of the BOT and what it’s cleaned so far as it’s running,estimated time of completion, etc.- Deleting your map when you want to do a “Re-explore” (ie: Re-Map) can take a minute or two to complete.- “Matrix” cleaning can only be performed on one room at a time. So if you have 3 kids bedrooms you want to Matrix clean you have to select one,do the cleaning, then send it out again to do the Matrix cleaning on the 2nd bedroom, etc.You might be able to work around this by setting up 3 Scheduled cleanings(??), one for each room.- The Mapping system could be MUCH better. I can understand it not mapping a shoe on the floor, but missing an entire 10-FOOT WALL SECTION???Would be nice to have Multi-Floor/Level mapping also.- I’ve run into an occasional issue where after doing a manual cleaning (via press of the CLEAN button) on the 1st floor (not mapped),then using the app to vac a specific room on the 2nd floor (mapped), it will clean the room, but then starts re-cleaning the last 3-foot sectionover-and-over until I manually stop it. Others also have reported odd issues jumping between “Mapped” cleaning and “non-Mapped” cleaning areas.The fix for me was to delete my map and have the bot do a re-explore to build it again (and hope it does it correctly on the 1st pass).If this issue continues, I’m toying with the idea of not doing any mapping at all and just letting the Bot figure it out as it goes regardless of the floor it’s on.I’ll loose the No-Go Zones and Specific Room Clean functions and it will likely take longer to run,but it might be worth it until the Mapping Logic is improved.CUSTOMER SUPPORT:==============================I did reach out to them when I had the “re-cleaning the same 3-foot section” issue after bouncing between a Mapped and Non-Mapped floor.This was during Black Friday weekend, and I only waited 5-10 minutes to speak with someone. He asked me to re-explain the issue to him again, and we got into a brief disagreement about how the MATRIX CLEANfunction worked – he claimed that was only for “Spot cleaning”, which I told him was NOT true.He finally suggested I delete my floor map and re-run another mapping session then try to replicate the problem again.I was assigned a Ticket# to reference when I called them back with my findings.After re-doing the mapping, I haven’t been able to replicate the problem yet, and I’m leaning towards assuming the Bot works best with Mapped areas only,and jumping between Mapped/Non-Mapped floors is not 100% supported (???)”

Customer Review: “Let me start by saying I HATED robot vacuums before getting this. I had bought an early model from another brand, and it would randomly run until it hit something turn and repeat. This was basically useless. It never really cleaned, and was constantly stuck, or ran out of batteries before finding its way back to the base. This couldn’t be more different.Setup: I was tentative from the start. But, I told it to start mapping and forgot about it. 15 minutes later I saw it on the base and assumed I never started it or it failed, so I opened the app and saw a highly detailed map of my house. I was amazed. It had mapped and returned to the base so quick I assume it didn’t work. I used my phone and assigned room boundaries to the map, put a DO NOT GO zone over the basement stairs to be safe, and setup the app to auto vacuum at 6am on M/W/F.Running: I have had only one time it needed intervention. It sucked a small cat toy into the roller and detected the strain on the motor and stopped, asked for help. It took about 60 seconds to open the roller, remove it, remove the toy, and put it back together. It resumed the process and finished. I have had it for months and that is the only time I have intervened.Vacuum quality: Each time I empty the bin I am horrified at the amount of dust and cat hair that it is picking up. It is running 3x a week, and in one week it takes a kitten worth of hair off the hard wood, and enough dust to make you queasy looking at it. It is a powerful vacuum, it gets the entire house when it runs, and does a great job, but it is quiet enough to run without waking anyone up.Pros: Setup, simple. Set and forget. Empty once a week or two or three. Almost no human intervention required. I don’t prep for vacuuming, don’t tidy up, don’t do anything. It just works and works well. Lidar constantly updating the map, it rarely touches anything, so it doesn’t scratch walls and furniture, it uses sensors and lidar to “see” the obstacles and work around them.Cons: It takes a recharge to fully do the house. We work from home and I can’t tell it the order to vacuum. So sometimes our offices are the last rooms, and by the time it runs, recharges and starts the second half I am already working and it wants to come vacuum my office. If I could set the order of room vacuuming it would be literally perfect. That is the ONLY con I can possibly think of. Seriously, it is THAT good. I don’t know what the $1000+ models can do that this can’t.”

Customer Review: “I am where vacuums go to die. With 4 dogs and 5 cats, living on a mountain farm, I kill vacuums on a regular basis. I’ve managed to take out everything from an old Kirby to a new Dyson & everything in between. Even the ones designed for pet hair didn’t last long. Then I got a shark navigator. It was true love! It was like having a Catholic priest come in on a regular basis to perform an exorcism on my carpets. For years, me & my Shark performed miracles in my home, proclaiming from my mountain top… THIS HOUSE IS CLEAN! Then we moved. I allowed a stranger to take my beloved Shark and haul it 2600 miles. By the time it arrived, it was too late. I founded it shoved behind a pile of boxes, hidden by the movers until after they left. It was literally in pieces, it’s hoses and cords shredded and pulled from thier sockets. The handle snapped off at the neck, there was no chance of resurrection. I couldn’t imagine what kind of torture my poor loyal side kick had endured, and was in doubt I would ever know such admiration for a household appliance again.I started the quest for a new vacuum, of course I knew it would be impossible to find such perfection again. Each year the new models get cheaper in parts while more expensive in price. After days of exhaustive searching… thinking perhaps I could find a remanufactured version of my old pal, I gave up. It was time to admit I had to buy something different. Still, my Navigator had been so wonderful, and I hadn’t found anything on the market that seemed better so I ordered a newer model, and set my heart to disappointment. Certainly I would never find another who could make my heart pitter pat like that again!My new Shark arrived and I pulled it from the box. It was pretty, shiny, and a lovely color. I assembled the parts easily, hearing the click as each locked in place. It had a good weight to it, though I felt a bit like betraying a loved one as I tucked it into the closet… not yet ready to actually turn it on for a test run.The puppy took advantage of my distraction, as cable & internet providers came and went. The pup shredded anything he found tempting that had already been unpacked, including packing material. Little Styrofoam pieces and bits of a silk flower arrangement littered a bedroom floor. A calendar lying on top of a box would no longer adorn our wall. And fluffy bits of golden retriever dotted the carpet where he had rolled and played during his destructive frolic. I cleaned up what i could by hand and then instinctively reached in the closet for my Shark.It was not my dear, loyal soldier that heeded my call for assistance. No, there was a new soldier at the ready and it was time to see if it could handle the job. I plugged it in, and turned it on.The Shark came to life, illuminated with the power surging through it. With a light touch, the new machine moved as though floating over the floor, and followed my directions as though reading my mind. The shredded debris was instantly gone, nothing missed, no second pass needed. It was so efficient we were done before I knew it. I popped out the tank, emptied it and slipped it back in with ease. I rewrapped the cord and rolled the vacuum back to the closet. As I tucked it in to its spot I gave it a quick pat and whispered, “That’ll do Shark. That’ll do.”It had done its duty well, with no hesitation or complaints. My old friend was laid to rest, and a new one had come to fill the hole in my heart & my closet. My dogs & cats fur would not be allowed to over run my home. I had a new champion that promised to fight the good fight. All that remains to be seen is how long it will last.A s we all lived happily ever after.”

Customer Review: “This is the best vacuum I have ever owned, and I have owned (and discarded!) many. I have finally come to the conclusion that there are 4 critical factors a vacuum must have for me to use it for more than a couple of years: good cleaning ability (good air flow, not suction); good maneuverability around furniture so that I am not fighting with the machine as I move it from room to room; versatility – easy to switch between cleaning tools so that I can get under furniture, dust surfaces, and clean crevices without a lot effort that interferes with my work flow; and ease of keeping the machine itself clean. It has taken me an embarrassingly long time to realize how important this last factor is. Pets (and people) create odors, and these odors build up in the machine and make the whole house stink unless you regularly clean the filters. I was actually on the verge of purchasing a $1,500 water filter vacuum so I could add a deodorizer to the water tank.Well, thank goodness I decided to try the Shark Rotator instead b/c it delivers BIG TIME on filter and dust cup cleaning. The filters are very easy to access and keep clean, unlike other machines I have owned. The ENTIRE dust cup opens up so that there are no nooks, crannies, and tornado-shaped tunnels that are impossible to reach and all you can do it watch that fine vacuum dust build up over the years b/c the manufacturer tells you that you are not to rinse out those tunnels under any circumstances! (How frustrating, and another expensive machine lands in the dumpster.)I have only had the Shark Rotator for a couple of weeks, but I think it is a winner! I have used it daily since it arrived (two cats, one dog.) This in itself is a miracle as I do not enjoy house cleaning. The Shark Rotator is so easy to maneuver and switch between cleaning modes that is (almost) a pleasure to vacuum. When I need to get under the beds, I just press the lift-away button. When I need a crevice tool, I just release the handle and pop on the dust/crevice tool, which rides on-board! BTW, I haven’t needed to use it in canister mode, which gives easy access to even more on-board tools, but may do so in future. Then I empty the dust cup (there is always a lot more in there than I would expect from just 24 hours of living) and wipe it down inside and out. Done!I have also owned a Shark Navigator for several years, and am very happy with it. It is a great little “pick it up quick” machine, and it is the one that taught me about filter cleaning. I have come to conclusion that Shark offers the best value on the market of all the vacuum cleaner manufacturers currently out there. If I had the chance, I would ask for just two improvements on my Rotator: a slightly longer (or more flexible) hose that would allow me to move further away from the machine in lift-away mode and a relocation of the power cord to keep it away from my feet. I step on the cord more than I would like, even with the cord inserted into the clip that is provided for this purpose. But, these are minor details only.”
