Customer Review: I live in the desert so a LOT of dust and dirt get tracked into my home, and I also have a what WAS a “fancy” floor finish that now flakes up CONSTANTLY, so keeping up on vacuuming is a *constant* chore. Just to make things more complicated, I’m disabled and have arthritis, so doing a lot of moving around and bending down to get at tricky spots used to leave me laid up for an entire day after housekeeping.THIS vacuum cleaner has been a complete GAME-CHANGER! It is a *little* heavier than I expected, but for all the other features, it’s enough of a trade-off. One of the BEST features for someone with limited flexibility is that you can lift the light-weight cannister and motor section off of the base and carry it around like a hand vacuum. You can *also* remove the handle from the vacuum in two differed lengths – a short handle for cleaning things at waist height and above, and a LONG handle to get under crevices and other spots on the floor without bending over or getting down on your hands and knees for tricky spaces!This vacuum allows me to adjust the rug/floor setting with a button near the handle without having to bend over and fiddle with a knob near the floor, and even has a setting to automatically adjust itself to go from carpet to bare floor. The motor is STRONG and does an excellent job at cleaning the carpet and floor with just a few passes. For getting under cupboards and furniture, there’s a sensor that will give a boost where you need one, and a light that goes on and off automatically because the darn thing is MAGIC and knows when you need it!The cannister that holds the dust and dirt is on the small side, but I think this is a plus because even though you have to clean it out a little more often, it doesn’t vomit out so much gunk that you end up covered in dust and grime. That is also why it is small and light enough to carry around, so I consider it a feature, not a bug.It is a little pricey, but I think it’s been worth every penny. I actually look forward to using it because it’s made it so much easier to keep my house clean again!

Customer Review: Awesome value. I use a Miele C3 vac ($1,000+) in my main home and bought the Shark Rotator for a beach house. After using the Shark for the first time in main home, I’m impressed. Cleaning dog hair off carpet and grit off hard floors looked thorough. The Shark is almost as easy to manipulate as the wand and power carpet brush on the Miele. The Shark doesn’t get any long border collie hair wrapped around the rotating carpet brush. Shark’s liftaway capability provides the mobility, although heavier, of the long hose on the Miele canister vac. Wrapping the cord on the Shark is an added chore that’s automated with the Miele cord rewind. The Miele has killer vacuum and graduated vacuum control for drapes versus a basic high-low vac control on the Shark. I like the bag filtering on the Miele to capture more dust because I have mild allergies, but the Shark dust bin empties easily. For 1/3rd the price the Shark Rotator is a champ.

I’ve had this one a few months now and the suction is still strong and works like it’s brand new. It was easy to put together and came with instructions, although you don’t really need them, it’s pretty simple. & it was an amazing deal because this vacuum is normally twice the price everywhere else! It will also last forever which saves money in itself because you won’t have to keep purchasing a new vacuum every year. The suction is just as strong as the day I bought it, it picks up dirt and everything else with ease. I own a cleaning company and use this for the company as well as at home and have had zero issues. If you’re looking for a good, quality vacuum- this is the one to get!

The new one is better than the basic model we had. It has unbelievable suction and clean wonderfully. It is a bit harder to move and is a bit noisier. Perhaps because it is so new and needs to break in. I think the noise is from the self cleaning on the roller. However with two dogs and long haired women it is worth it. Highly recommend. I have had Dyson, Kirby, Electrolux and Sears over the years and NONE of them come close.

Customer Review: This is my third Shark vacuum cleaner in 18 years, so I can attest that they last. My last one was the Shark DuoClean lift-away that lasted 7 years. Last week it decided to die and thankfully Amazon can ship it faster than Shark can. I have three dogs and the only vacuum cleaner that I trust is the Shark. Tonight, I put it to the test. I found pros & cons between these two vacuum cleaners. My biggest pro on this one is self-cleaning brush roller. I have long hair and I HATED having to cut, pull, and tug to get my hair out of the old brush roller! This one picks it great! The brush roller in the front of my old one picked so much pet hair that I would have to stop and clean it out, but that did not happen on this one, so that is another bonus. Another pro is the fact that I can use all the attachments off my old Shark, which allows me to have double the attachments. It has a lot of power, and it reminds me of a self-propelled lawn mower that is ready to take off and it makes it a lot easier to push, not that it’s heavy or anything. Upon reading the manual, I found out the headlights will indicate if there is a problem in the color and pattern of the lights, talk about a game changer! I’m going to have to keep the manual around if my Shark starts flashing out a SOS code, although I don’t anticipate that happening. The vacuum cleaner picked up exceptionally well and I had to empty it out a few times. My last pro is the anti-allergen dust brush. One reviewer made a video that pointed out it would be great for blinds, as well as the top & bottom of ceiling fan blades. I tried it tonight on the blinds and it was awesome! The cons: the cord length is 25 ft where my old one was 30 feet. That extra 5 feet was perfect for me, so now I’m going to have to plug in and move it to other plugs. I used to be able to do my entire house by using two plugs. I don’t know who at Shark made that decision, but I would love to have a word with them. This vacuum is larger than my other and I didn’t think anything about it, until I realized that I couldn’t get it into a couple of places that I could get my old one. And my last con may sound a little odd, but dust cup release is just the opposite of my old one, so when I click the button, it opens the other way, which almost caused me not to get it in the trash can. That is something I’m just going to have to get used too. Overall, I’m pleased with this new Shark and I look forward to using it for many more years.

Customer Review: So glad I took a chance on a “refurb”. Was apparently brand new…looked new, smelled new, clean filter. I have a collection of critters in a 1/3 carpet, 1/3 hard and 1/3 rugs house. This vacuum handles it all with amazing power and ease. My 10 yr old Shark died and I knew I wanted something designed to handle the solid surface floors. So far this has completely exceeded my expectations. Dust bin is easy to remove and clean. Handle/hose is easy to release. It pulls itself along with its suction power. My old Shark had the separate hard floor attachment that was a pain to attach and then pull or carry the vacuum along with you to use. Having the plush bar for hard floors is amazing and so helpful.

Customer Review: I have never owned a vacuum that I loved until we bought this. This vacuum is PERFECT. I often catch myself vacuuming for fun with this thing. The suction is great, it has a setting for carpet and a setting for hardwood floor. It also has a max suction or less suction setting (I have a dog and two kids so I keep this baby on max suction). It leaves the most perfect vacuum lines when I’m done and I’m positive that it doesn’t miss a single speck of dust. Seriously, I can feel the difference in my carpet after I vacuum.. the carpet feels much softer. The handle is detachable so you can vacuum your baseboards, the corners, small spaces, etc. The actual body of the vacuum also detaches so you can carry it with you while doing stairs or vacuuming corners. I will forever recommend this vacuum!! Buy it!!!!

Customer Review: I’ve owned this NV501 for over 6 years. Recently a peice broke off (where the hose meets this L bracket) where without a 3d printer I could not replace.So glad there are “renewed” versions. Mind you I did buy a brand new Duo Clean M series shark and the NV501 performs way better for my situation.I have equal flooring with carpets and hardwood. My original NV501 had a wide floor attachment that made quick work of getting the hardwoods clean (must faster than sweeping). The suction power is just plain awesome.So i just replaced what was once broken and everything is good and easy to clean again!Keep in mind this renewed version DOESNT come with the attachment I am referring to so dont expect it but you can always buy it seperatly.These do come with some dings and scrapes as they are refurb but since you cant get these new anylonger this is the next best thing.Spent $500 on the newest and lastest from shark(Apex Duo Clean M), its great on the carpets, it is TERRIBLE on the hardwoods. I can feel debris on my feet after a clean vs this NV501.So the price is definitely right and performance as an all rounder vacuum is bar none the best!

Customer Review: Love this vacuum! My grandma has one, and I liked hers so much I had to get one too! It works so much better than the cheapo Walmart one I have that sucks because it doesn’t suck 😂. The attachments that come with this one are perfect for what I need it for in my apartment. The wand release is nice, and the reach is acceptional and I’m just under 5’3″.I have cats, so it’s very important that the suction is more than decent. The controls are super easy. The brush roll feature works great for what little carpet I do have, my door mats, and other rugs. Takes the cat hair right off! For my bedroom shag rugs I turn the suction down a bit with the brush roll, works great! I use this vacuum on all my floors though, without the brushroll feature on for laminate hard floors and tile. The brushroll seems to fling small amounts of debris on hard floors, but not enough to even complain if you choose to use brushroll on those style floors too. No funky smells coming from mine like in other reviews. We’re all here on this one to save some money instead of buying brand new. Worth it!! It arrived quickly, was easy to put together, and I no longer dread vacuuming!I did find out the hard way that the brush roll feature is too rough for very soft foam gym tiles. It left a couple marks before I quickly turned that feature off. My bad. So don’t do that. The lift away feature is convenient for stairs. Just watch which way the face is pointed when using attachments, have it face behind you. Otherwise it’ll blow the hair and dirt around that you’re trying to suck up. Sometimes I accidently move the suction dial while moving along and wonder where all the power went. User error 😅. It’s fairly easy to clean the compartments and filters. Only thing that seemed sketchy was where the handle attaches to the wand. That part of the design could have been a little more solid, but despite my one concern while putting it together, it is holding up just fine. My grandma has had the same model for years, and hers is holding up great to regular use as well. I really can’t say anything bad about this model, which is exactly why I bought it! ☺ 100% would recommend if you’re considering it!

Customer Review: I’ve now had this vacuum for a year, it is so well worth the money. I switched from my Dyson to this shark model. It’s easy to use, it’s easy to clean. The suction is the best I’ve ever seen in a vaccum. It’s lightweight. Lots of length to use attachments. The scent boosters work great. I can see where if I had dogs this would be great for the smell. The scent boosters also have levels you can set . I have cats and it collects the hair like no other vacuum. For noise level, I don’t think it’s loud. The quality of this baby is made built to last! I will never buy anything other vacuum. My only con is I wish I did this so much sooner!

Customer Review: This is my third Shark vacuum and there is a reason I keep buying them! They just work, period. My daughter is moving into her own apartment for the first time and wanted the same Shark we already had. It doesn’t seem to still be available so I let her take it with her and got a new one for myself. I do also own a lift away but find it a little too heavy to carry around. The super long hose on this item achieves the same thing and is way easier to use. Assembly was very easy and no tools were needed. All of the components just click into place and probably took two minutes to assemble. I have learned over time that the two included attachments are the only ones I really use and both can be stored right onboard the vacuum. I love that both the foam and felt filters can be rinsed in water and do not need to be repurchased. That being said, I usually buy another set anyway so that I can rinse one set and still be able to use the vacuum while they completely dry out. As for the performance, it works really well. The ability to easily adjust the level of suction right from the handle means that I can go from a throw rug, to an area rug, to a wood floor quickly and easily. The swivel operates flawlessly and makes maneuvering a breeze. And the extension of the hose is great. To reach the ceiling, I don’t have to do any heavy lifting or stretching. The dust bin is quite large and is also easy to release and empty. This particular item might not have a tons of bells and whistles, but it just works. For 95% of my tasks, it’s all I need. And it is a great value! Every single one of my Shark vacuums are still working great, and I’m sure this item is no exception. For the price, it has everything I need and really exceeded my expectations once I used it. I don’t see any reason to spend three or fours times the cost of this item on any other vacuum, when this item does the job. Highly recommended!
