Customer Reviews
After receiving delivery from Amazon of Shark’s WV201RGBRN WANDVAC Cordless Hand Vac, I learned the following:1. Receiving a product from Amazon does not mean that the product received is as-intended at time of purchase. I received an unsealed product box with an attachment missing. As directed by the product brochure, I called the SHARK Customer Service number. (The brochure is — and should be — enclosed in the product box.) I spoke with a very kind, responsive, and responsible SHARK CUSTOMER SERVICE representative. He advised me to register the Shark product (which I did by providing him with the requested information). He IMMEDIATELY facilitated dispatch to me of the missing attachment to the vac.NOTE: I called SHARK on Tuesday (after receiving delivery and checking the product box contents) and received the attachment from SHARK on Saturday. SHARK provided contemporaneous information re. fulfillment, dispatch, and delivery. I rate SHARK OUTSTANDING. (Thank you, SHARK!)2. It was only after I called SHARK that I noted two Amazon coded stickers on the product box (a red and a white sticker that I have not previously encountered with prior purchases). Accordingly, I reached out to Amazon to ask if the product I received was new product or returned merchandise. I did NOT receive an answer to my question but noted that Amazon unilaterally began a ‘RETURN” process — directing me to go to a UPS Store that same week — within a couple of days. When I objected and noted that I had registered the purchase and intended to keep it, I was also told that replacement (that I, also, did not request) would NOT be possible.3. By this point in time I had watched multiple Youtube videos about the Shark Ion handheld vac and I used the vac; I realized that, among other things:a. It is an effective and impressive cleaning applianceb. It has small dust cup capacity and needs to be emptied perhaps more frequently than experienced by some consumers with other product..c. If not emptied and/or if the filter needs cleaning/changing, the fully charged vac may, among other things, cut-off and/or otherwise not effectively perform. (Some posted that the product may feel warm.)d. Per the instructions, even fully charged produces minutes of operation. (The internet — consumer postings) indicate ranges of time from 3 to 8 to 10 minutes; the outer end (not often mentioned) was 30 minutes.e. Despite what may be considered practical operational ‘limitations’, the effectiveness of the fully functioning vac is lauded. It is important to keep in mind the manufacturer’s representations regarding intended use (such as small spill cleanup).4. My personal conclusions:a. This product, perhaps designed as a limited-use handheld, is so effective in short-time use that consumers wish there was longer operational time and larger capacity. It is lightweight and well-designed. It is VERY effective/powerful when appropriately functioning.b. This clean-up tool is not designed for longer time and larger capacity use.c. SOME CONSUMERS report longer operational time and less need to clean or change filters.d. It may be prudent to have a supply of filters on-hand.e. SHARK has evidenced caring about its product and consumers being able to use their products effectively.f. YOUTUBE videos, as well as information provided by SHARK in its brochure and other product-related information, help even the most unmechanically-inclined consumer to understand product operation and care.5. I have encountered challenges with my purchase of this product but at this point in time I would not hesitate to purchase additional Shark products from SHARKAt this point, given the foregoing about the handheld vac I have had for less than one week, I am impressed that SHARK cares about its products and consumers of its products.I have concerns about long-term full functionality and keeping the product plugged in/charging continually but will rely on SHARK instructions.
Lightweight/not bulky, attractive & small enough to keep handy on kitchen counter, easy to clean (no filters to handle when dumping contents), not as noisy as others, & suction is adequate – a pleasure to use & worth the price!

Customer Reviews
I actually bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas because he likes to clean. I thought this would be better than any toy vacuum cleaner and he would actually be able to do some real chores around the house instead of pretend chores. He loves it and calls it “my vacuum”. He uses it and even knows how to empty and clean it. Best “toy” ever! Battery life is good, charges fully within a few hours
I replaced a Dirt Devil hand vac with this one. Love it! It has great suction, is easy to empty and clean, and is useful for quick car cleaning.

Customer Reviews
I absolutely love this little vacuum. Very handy for small messes around the house and in vehicles. The suction is great and it’s not obnoxiously loud.
Great little vacuum. I keep it charging in my laundry room and use it for small jobs around the house. Such as, dried coffee grounds around trash can, the dust/lint on my dryer when I pull out the dryer lint thingy, beside the refrigerator, along my baseboards. It’s an awesome small appliance.

Customer Reviews
This is the best handheld vac I’ve ever owned. I use the soft brush attachment to keep my wood floor crumbs from up under my kitchen cabinet base. I use the smooth attachment to lightly lift dust from my Amish built tweed sofa. I use the crevice tool to pick up crumbs around the garbage can and I pick up wood pieces from my fireplace hearth. I also use the crevice tool to deep vac my dryer lint trap and my baseboards. I have owned this hand vac for a year and the suction is consistent and amazing. It hold a charge for a week and blinks when it’s getting low on charge. It’s easy to empty and to clean the filter. It’s durable and easy t use. The noise level is commensurate to its effectiveness and certainly a great value for the money. I will never use a different brand. It’s the perfect hand vac to complete the job of my robot and large vacuum. It reaches beside toilets, behind my freestanding tub and around and behind end tables. Such a time saver I’ve bought it for my daughters for their home that have pets and they also say it’s the best handheld vac they’ve ever owned. BUY IT!
This is handy! For around the house use, one charge handles multiple uses and cleaning projects. Dust and fine debris pick up is also very good, easy to swap out parts for different uses, so it’s versatile. I’m set to use it more so to clean out my car, but when I did a quick pass through it was very efficient. Not too noisy, especially compared to a full sized vacuum I’d say. No clogging as of yet, and easy to empty without too much of a mess. Honestly I’m happy I bought it, as I was going back and forth looking through multiple handheld options that I could use for the house and car. I’m satisfied.ALSO it’s easy to store! And again, quick charging for use.

- Filter maintenance can be slightly fiddly (as noted in one review).
Customer Reviews
Great and powerful! I had another brand, but this Black & Decker is much more powerful! My daughter has one she loves, so I ordered this one. I LOVE IT! If you have had an influx of ladybugs in your house, this is the tool for you! I was also able to suck up a couple angry wasps. I use it exclusively for bug removal. It is fast and oh so powerful.NOTICE: When I carefully unpacked it and read the “manual” it said there was a cloth filter included…I did not see it anywhere. My calls to B&D resulted in 15 minutes on hold and no help. Aggravated, I ordered a set of washable filters from Amazon. They arrived speedily and when I went to put one on, it was then I discovered the cloth filter!😳 So be aware the included cloth filter is located UNDER the “plastic pre-filter.” Sort of strange…my daughter’s older model had the cloth filter OVER the blue one. I’m telling you about this so you’ll know. The cloth filter is there, it’s just hidden. The manual isn’t very explanatory but is full of **bold letter** WARNINGs.I’m very happy with my purchase. It is a very strong vac….as others have noted it is very very loud. It is easy to charge, a delight to use and accomplishes the task, whether it be bug or dirt removal. I love it and you will too!
I used the BLACK+DECKER dustbuster AdvancedClean Handheld Vacuum Cordless over the weekend, and overall I was really impressed with how well it performed. It has strong suction for its size and made quick work of small messes around the house and in the car. It’s lightweight, easy to handle, and very convenient for those quick cleanups. My only complaint is the battery life—I just wish it lasted a bit longer between charges. For small tasks, it’s perfect, but for extended use, you’ll likely need to recharge sooner than expected.Still, despite the battery limitation, it works really well and delivers solid performance for the price. A great little vacuum to have on hand.
6. Shark Pet Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
This is a unique offering: a Shark handheld that converts into a stick vacuum. It has a removable handheld pod and comes with a crevice tool and pet multi-tool. - ✓ Anti-Hair Wrap Brushroll: Designed to prevent hair from wrapping and tangling.
Why We Recommend It
It’s the most versatile Shark handheld. The LED light is incredibly useful, and the ability to convert to a stick vac gives it a broader utility. If your primary need is a handheld but you also want something that can do a quick once-over on a hard floor, this is a smart hybrid choice.
Best For
Homes with mostly hard floors where seeing dust is a challenge, pet owners who want the anti-hair wrap feature, and anyone who wants a handheld that can also function as a lightweight stick for small apartments or quick floor cleanups.
Pros and Cons
Pros:

- 2-in-1 design adds significant versatility.
- Good battery life for a convertible model.

- Strong suction on both hard floors and low-pile carpet.
Cons:

- Battery life drops significantly when using the motorized floor head.
- More expensive than Shark’s basic handheld models.
Customer Reviews
I’ve been using my Shark Cordless vacuum for a few months now. I still love it. I was waiting to make sure it kept working before reviewing. So far, so good. I haven’t had the best luck with the less expensive cordless vacuums. One was so hard to clean I just sent it back. Another had a problem with the rollers not spinning. I managed to keep it going for 2 years but always presented problems. This one is easy. The rollers stop the nanosecond a problem is detected and nothing has gotten wrapped up in them. This one is not so expensive that I couldn’t afford it and is what I was looking for. It seems durable and hopefully it will last more than a few years. It’s easy to use, lightweight and empties very easily. Just hold it over the garbage can and push the button. Nice. It’s also easy to charge. I just plug it in next to a wall and let it charge. My only complaint is actually that the charge barely lasts long enough. I have 1204 sq. ft. on 3 levels. I use a larger, corded vacuum for the top level that has 2 carpeted bedrooms. So, I’m only vacuuming the hard floors on the 2nd level (with some throw rugs) and the carpeted living room on the ground floor. Also 18 total carpeted steps. So, I wish the charge would last another 10-15 minutes for a more complete job. That said, it works so well, that I’m still very happy. The best part is that it’s small enough and light enough to make cleaning the stairs a lot less of a chore than with a full-sized regular vacuum. The rollers pull strongly and the suction is quite adequate. Not overwhelmingly so but does the job. I have 2 cats and need to be able to have a handy device especially for the steps where they love to play.
As a disclaimer, our home is 1700ft2, and about 2/3 of it is carpeted. The vacuum works phenomenal on the regular carpeting and hardwood in the house, but struggles a little bit with the wool area rug. The variety of ways this vacuum can be assembled makes it extremely versatile. For example, using the regular brush roll head while removing the extension works wonders on the carpeted stairs. The short “handheld” version with the scraper does great on the couch. And the extension, with the small ended nozzle, works great for after the initial vacuuming, getting all the dirt along the edges of the rooms and furniture. It lays down almost flat, so getting under things like the dog food bowls, the couch, the dining room table etc are a breeze. So the reason I made the title the way it is, is related to battery life. To realistically clean our first floor (mostly hardwood/tile + wool rug) and the second floor (totally carpeted) will eat up the entire battery. The battery is NOT fast to charge. The runtime is based I believe on the vacuum running in “handheld mode” (aka without the brush head). So, if you’re home is over 1500ft2 and mostly carpeted, you’re going to have to throw it on the charger for a while most likely. I think it would greatly benefit Shark to come up with swappable batteries, think Milwaukee or DeWalt style. If you’re handy you can do this yourself, but it would greatly benefit the company to have a proprietary design for this.Another con, though I hesitate to call it a con based on the portability of this vacuum, is the power. As mentioned, it does great on our regular carpeting, but just isn’t as good as the corded Shark we’ve had for almost 10 years. This is to be expected as the motor in the corded vac draws significantly more power than the cordless battery version, but still worth mentioning. The vacuum is very light and easy to use. The blue light on the front of the roller head is AWESOME, and will show every spec of dirt on any uncarpeted surface.Overall, for the sale price we got it at (I want to say between $175-225, can’t remember exactly) it has been excellent. Just keep in mind how much you’re going to want to run it at once, as if you’re living space is too big, you will have to take long breaks to recharge the vacuum.
7. Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Cordless Hand Vacuum
Bissell is another giant in the vacuum world, and their Pet Hair Eraser handheld is a focused, effective tool. Its key feature is the motorized pet brush that agitates and lifts embedded fur from upholstery and carpet. It’s lightweight, easy to empty, and the 14V lithium-ion battery provides reliable, cord-free power. A portion of every purchase supports the BISSELL Pet Foundation, which is a nice bonus for animal lovers.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ Motorized Pet Brush: Actively lifts and removes embedded pet hair from fabrics.
- ✓ Easy-Empty Dirt Bin: Simple, one-touch emptying with a large capacity.
- ✓ Lightweight & Ergonomic: Comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.
- ✓ 14V Lithium-Ion Battery: Provides consistent power and decent runtime.
Why We Recommend It
The motorized brush is the star here. For pet owners dealing with hair that’s woven into couch cushions or car seats, the oscillating bristles make a noticeable difference compared to suction alone. It’s a straightforward, well-executed design from a brand with a strong reputation.
Best For
Pet owners, specifically those with cats and dogs that shed heavily on upholstered furniture and in vehicles. It’s also a great choice for anyone who wants a simple, effective handheld without a lot of complex features.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Motorized brush roll is highly effective at removing embedded pet hair.
- Very easy to empty and clean the dirt bin.
- Lightweight and comfortable to hold.
- Supports a good cause (BISSELL Pet Foundation).
- Generally priced reasonably for its feature set.
Cons:
- Battery life is adequate but not class-leading (typically 15-20 mins).
- Can be a bit noisy when the motorized brush is engaged.
- The motorized brush can occasionally wrap long hair, requiring periodic cleaning.
- Not as powerful on non-fabric surfaces as some cyclonic models.

Customer Reviews
My Golden Retriever, Tucker, basically sheds an entire new dog every day, especially on the back seats of my SUV. I tried using a lint roller and a shop vac, but dragging that huge hose out to the driveway is such a chore. I grabbed this handheld last month and the suction power is legit. It actually pulls those stubborn, wiry hairs out of the floor mats without me having to scrub at them. The attachments are actually useful, specifically the crevice tool for getting between the seats where all the French fries and dog hair go to die. It’s got enough power to handle a full car detail on one charge. In terms of ease of use, it’s light enough that my wrist doesn’t get tired after ten minutes. For the price point, the value for money is solid compared to those expensive name-brand sticks. I’d tell any pet owner who’s tired of a hairy car to give this a shot.
My mother said her old vacuum cleaner was big and bulky, and she would get very tired after cleaning for a long time. So I bought her a handheld cordless vacuum cleaner. This handheld vacuum cleaner is compact and lightweight, making it easy to operate with one hand even during prolonged use. The cordless design is more flexible and convenient, allowing her to easily clean every corner without worrying about tangled cords, making it perfect for everyday household cleaning. The vacuum cleaner has a long battery life, enough to thoroughly clean the entire house without needing to recharge midway, which is very convenient. My mother said this handheld cordless vacuum cleaner is very easy to use. It comes with various attachments to meet different cleaning needs. The suction power is strong, easily removing stubborn dirt, pet hair, and debris from carpets and other hard-to-clean areas. The dustbin is easy to remove and install, and the filter is washable and reusable, making cleaning and maintenance very convenient.
9. Aspiron Cordless Handheld Vacuum
The Aspiron is a feature-packed competitor that holds its own against the big brands. It offers two suction modes (Standard 15,000 Pa / Max 24,000 Pa), a large capacity battery, and the convenience of dual charging methods—both a dock and a wireless charger. It includes a HEPA filter for allergen capture and a clever flip-down brush that doesn’t require separate storage. It’s a premium-feeling, high-performance handheld.
Key Features That Stand Out
- ✓ Two-Speed Suction: Switch between powerful Max and efficient Standard modes.
- ✓ Dual Charging Options: Charges on a dock or via included wireless charger.
- ✓ Integrated Flip-Down Brush: Stores on the unit for easy access.
- ✓ HEPA Filtration: Captures fine dust and allergens.
Why We Recommend It
It’s a fantastic all-around package. The dual charging is incredibly convenient, the suction is strong in both modes, and the integrated brush is a smart design touch. For users who want premium features like a HEPA filter and wireless charging without the premium brand price, this is an excellent choice.
Best For
Tech-savvy users, allergy sufferers (thanks to the HEPA filter), and anyone who appreciates clever design and charging flexibility. It’s also great for those who want strong, adjustable suction without paying for a name brand.
Pros and Cons

- The wireless charger adds bulk if you want to travel with it.
Customer Reviews
This vacuum cleaner truly surprised me! It’s lightweight, portable, and easy to handle, making it perfect for quickly cleaning around the house or inside the car. As a handheld vacuum, its suction power is unexpectedly strong, and the convenient charging dock charges it quickly. Its design is stylish and simple, and it feels very durable and well-made. This is a super practical and time-saving tool—definitely worth it!
VERY impressed with this solid and powerful little guy. Bought because we got tired of lugging the “big” vacuum out to the cars and was honestly a little skeptical. We were BLOWN away by the heavy duty “sturdy” feel, the HEPA filter, the charging time, and extremely “this will last us a decade” feel. Suction power is outstanding, and we love the “flip down” brush that doesn’t need separate storage. The native “mouth” has turned out to be excellent for our cat’s fur on couches and keyboards, and the attachment that creates massive focused suction in single points worked wonders on the crevices of our cars. The size is appropriate and felt natural. It is versatile and can work in any location you would expect for handheld vacuums like kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, offices, living rooms, and cars. It’s loud, don’t get me wrong. We didn’t expect to hear a pin drop, but we also didn’t wake up the neighbors. The HEPA filter didn’t clog at all (just reminder to empty it, which is literally removing the bottom, sliding the filter out, and tapping it into the trash can; 10 seconds). It picked up anything we threw at it instantly and asked for more. Highly recommend! NOTE: It’s a vacuum, not a mop, so photos show close ups of it sucking up particles, not casting spells. For tiny bits, you’ll still want to wipe with a wet rag.

Customer Reviews
The Shark StainForce Cordless Portable Spot, Stain, & Odor Remover System has completely transformed how I tackle messes in my home. From pet accidents to everyday spills, this little machine handles it all with ease! What I love most:1) Cordless convenience — no dragging cords around. I can take it anywhere I need, from the living room to the bedroom to the car.2) Impressive cleaning power — it lifts stains and odors I thought were permanent! My carpets look refreshed and smell clean after each use.3) Compact but mighty — lightweight and easy to maneuver, yet it packs serious performance. The cleaning solution sprays and lifts effortlessly, and the suction works better than I expected for a portable unit. Cleanup is simple, and the removable water tank makes refilling and emptying a breeze.
This is basically a hand held liquid extraction unit. No rotating scrubby heads, no spritzer, etc. But I LOVE IT! My other spot cleaner has become too heavy and cumbersome since my shoulder replacement. I only needed something for the spots when the cat occasionally throws up. This is nice and light weight and extremely easy to use. I use my own mixture of cleaning liquid, and this unit does have a stationary reversible head (either ridges or brushes) that I can scrub the spot with. Then the unit does a top notch job of extracting the liquid. No wet carpet spot. Don’t know if it works for anything else, like a car, boat, etc, but it’s perfect for what I need and for my limited physical abilities.
Complete Buying Guide for Shark Handheld Vacuum Cleaners
Essential Factors We Consider
When choosing the best Shark handheld vacuum, we prioritize several key factors. Suction power is paramount—measured in Pa or Air Watts—and dictates what messes the vacuum can handle. Battery life and runtime determine how long you can clean before recharging; look for at least 15-20 minutes for general use. Dust cup capacity matters for how often you’ll need to stop and empty. Weight and ergonomics are critical for handheld comfort, especially for extended use. Finally, we evaluate specialized features like motorized pet brushes, LED lights, cyclonic suction systems, and included attachments that add real-world versatility.
Budget Planning
Shark handheld vacuums range from around $40 for basic models to over $200 for premium, feature-packed units. For under $60, you’ll get solid suction and basic functionality (like the BLACK+DECKER dustbuster or budget-friendly third-party models). The $60-$120 range offers the best value, with excellent Shark models like the WANDVAC and Cyclone PET providing strong performance and good features. Over $120, you’re paying for hybrid designs (like the convertible Shark Pet model), extreme suction power, or premium materials and convenience features like wireless charging. Set a budget based on your primary use: simple spot cleaning doesn’t require a high-end model, while heavy pet hair or car detailing justifies a higher investment.
Final Thoughts
Shark dominates the handheld vacuum market for a reason: they consistently deliver powerful, reliable, and innovative products. The “best” one truly depends on your specific needs. For ultimate portability and quick kitchen spills, the WANDVAC is unbeatable. For pet hair, the Cyclone PET or Pet Hair Eraser with a motorized brush are top picks. If you demand raw power for car detailing, high-Pa models like the Aspiron or generic powerhouse are incredible. And if you also need a stick vac for hard floors, the convertible Shark Pet model with its LED light is uniquely versatile. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How long do Shark handheld vacuum batteries typically last?
A: Runtime varies significantly by model. Lightweight models like the WANDVAC run for about 10-15 minutes. More powerful or feature-rich models like the Shark UltraCyclone or the convertible Pet model can run 20-40 minutes on a single charge. Always check the specifications for your chosen model’s runtime in the mode you plan to use most often.
Q: Which Shark handheld is best for pet hair on furniture and cars?
A: For pet hair, look for a model with a motorized brush roll, as it agitates and lifts fur more effectively than suction alone. The Shark Cyclone PET and the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser are specifically designed with this feature. The Shark UltraCyclone Pet Pro Plus also excels with its cyclonic suction and pet tools. For cars, a high-suction model like the 26,000 Pa handheld is also extremely effective.
Q: Are Shark handheld vacuums washable and easy to maintain?
A: Yes, most Shark and competitor handhelds feature washable filters and easy-empty, one-touch dust cups. The filters should be rinsed with water and allowed to air dry completely for 24 hours before reinserting. The dust cups can usually be emptied directly into a trash can. Regular maintenance—emptying the cup after each use and cleaning the filter monthly—is key to maintaining suction power and longevity.
Q: What’s the difference between a Shark handheld and a Shark stick vacuum?
A: A handheld vacuum is small, lightweight, and designed for spot cleaning—stairs, cars, counters, and furniture. A stick vacuum is larger, has a longer reach, and is designed for cleaning entire floors, often with a motorized brushroll for carpets. Some models, like the Shark Pet Cordless Vacuum (IZ682), are hybrids, combining a removable handheld pod with a stick floor head.
Q: Do I need a separate charger or docking station?
A> Most handhelds include a charging dock or a wall charger. Docks are convenient for storage and keeping the vacuum ready. Some newer models, like the budget-friendly dual-mode vacuum and the Aspiron, also offer USB-C or wireless charging, giving you more flexibility to use your own chargers. Consider where you’ll store it and choose the charging method that fits your space.
