I bought this vacuum during this year’s Prime Day because I wanted to replace another brand that just wasn’t doing the job picking up my German Shepherd’s dog hair. I was constantly having to stop the other unit and pull hair out. After looking at online reviews on this one and another popular one and really reading the reviews, especially ones about dog hair I chose to purchase this one. So far I LOVE this one. I have all hard surfaces (wood and tile) in my house and it cleans both really well and here’s why. First, the roller on it isn’t a “brush” roller, it’s simpler and hair doesn’t get tangled up in it. When I first set up the vacuum it mapped my house and afterward, I was able to set up zones or rooms so I could select specific areas to vacuum such as high traffic areas, etc. After it mapped the house I could see the “map” of my house and it was pretty accurate. Then my vac started cleaning and I could even select the level of clean I want also. But wait, there’s more! Lol I have the app on my phone so I can select clean, ultra clean, eco/normal/max. I have it on ultra clean. So here’s the great part, my last vac was “random” whereas this one literally goes row by row to vacuum and it also does the edges. I have included a video so you can see what I’m talking about. Then my vacuum, aptly named “Hair Destroyer” will take itself home and the base will literally suck all the hair/dirt out into the basin storage and my vacuum goes back out on its’ merry way to keep on cleaning! YASSSS The unit recharges nicely, is easy to make schedules (I have mine on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat) and I haven’t seen the hair on the floor. It is also cleaning smaller rugs by the doors well.The clearance height on it is a little higher (about 4 1/2 inches high) but it still goes under the couches and most other furnishings I have. I still have a dust mop for areas around plants in the corners, etc that are not wide enough for it to fit through – hey this thing isn’t perfect but it’s close. Next, you’ll want to know that with as much dog hair that this thing picks up I empty it every 2nd day it runs to keep the bin in the base clean. Some people said it filled up quickly, well mine did the 1st couple of times also because of the amount of hair it picked up.This unit is not loud, it’s quieter than my last one. I read reviews that said it was loud but it isn’t. It plays a sound when it’s going home to empty and then it plays a different sound when it’s going back out. Neither bother me. Be sure to let it map the house, you’ll be glad you did. Be sure to register it. I had one issue of it not getting the charge but I think it was user error and when I called customer service (CS) they were helpful and it was back to doing what it’s supposed to do. The preliminary steps the CS rep used to determine what was wrong were in my opinion elementary, items I had already done but the customer service rep said it was required. Overall, I really wanted to write this review because I really love this unit. If any negative issues occur I’ll update my review of course!”

Customer Review: “This Shark Robovacuum is great. We’ve had it in use for about 2 weeks. It vacuums half of my home (living room, kitchen, spare room and a bathroom) every night because of our 2 dogs and 3 cats. Make sure you find the little edge brush, its tucked into a corner of the packing material. I was happy to find out that it will eventually climb over my threshold between my living room and kitchen with is pretty tall (for a threshold) due to my kitchen floor being decorative stone. The Shark Robovac is a little loud when doing its job, but not horribly loud. When it backs into its docking station, the vacuum that sucks out the robovacs onboard dustbin is pretty loud…kind of like a shop vacuum. Its only on for a few seconds. Overall, I’m impressed with its cleaning ability. Its nice waking up eveymorning to clean floors. The other half of the house is a step down, so my wife has those rooms mapped out separately and has to put the robovac on that level to clean rooms individually. So far so good.”

Customer Review: “I have had this thing for roughly 2 weeks now and upgraded from a plain jane shark robot vaccum (no auto empty or even lidar, as simple as it gets)And boy has this been a treat, i have a small 400sq ft apartment i live in with 2 cats so litter and cat hair on the floor are a given. I think its pretty nifty you can drive it around remotely and talk and see through it so i get to virtually check in on my cats if im gone for awhile. Customer Review: “Let me start by saying I HATED robot vacuums before getting this. I had bought an early model from another brand, and it would randomly run until it hit something turn and repeat. This was basically useless. It never really cleaned, and was constantly stuck, or ran out of batteries before finding its way back to the base. This couldn’t be more different.Setup: I was tentative from the start. But, I told it to start mapping and forgot about it. 15 minutes later I saw it on the base and assumed I never started it or it failed, so I opened the app and saw a highly detailed map of my house. I was amazed. It had mapped and returned to the base so quick I assume it didn’t work. I used my phone and assigned room boundaries to the map, put a DO NOT GO zone over the basement stairs to be safe, and setup the app to auto vacuum at 6am on M/W/F.Running: I have had only one time it needed intervention. It sucked a small cat toy into the roller and detected the strain on the motor and stopped, asked for help. It took about 60 seconds to open the roller, remove it, remove the toy, and put it back together. It resumed the process and finished. I have had it for months and that is the only time I have intervened.Vacuum quality: Each time I empty the bin I am horrified at the amount of dust and cat hair that it is picking up. It is running 3x a week, and in one week it takes a kitten worth of hair off the hard wood, and enough dust to make you queasy looking at it. It is a powerful vacuum, it gets the entire house when it runs, and does a great job, but it is quiet enough to run without waking anyone up.Pros: Setup, simple. Set and forget. Customer Review: “I don’t normally write a lot of reviews, but when I take the time to write one, it exceeded my expectations. This is no different. As many have probably done, I picked this up on sale. And with the 10% cash back on the prime card, it was an easy decision. I’ve researched these for years, but the tech never felt “ready” yet. For me, the wait is over. The setup out of the box was simple, and it did’t take long for the unit to map our house. After mapping, you can clean the whole house, or select which rooms. I watched it for its first mission. I was amazed how it reached every crevasse. It really tries hard to reach each corner, and my experience is that it did just that. At times, it looked like it missed some areas, but it reached every section before returning to the base. Others commented on how it’s not as loud as other units. Definitely quieter than a standard vacuum. We have pets, so you can select a setting to return to the base to empty every 30 minutes. It then returns to the exact location to resume. If it’s cleaning, and the battery is running low, it will return to the base to charge up, then it returns to where it left off. When evacuating the robot, that’s the loudest part, but the base has a hepa filter to avoid the dirt causing odor, or re-entering your floors. The receptacle releases from the base with the push of a button, then one little switch to dump in the trash. Take a look at the pic. That was from only 2 rooms. It was able to easily navigate under the bed, which is always hard to clean. If you have pets, this is a must have. Outside of just turning it on to clean your floors, you can schedule your cleanings daily while you’re away. Nothing like coming home to see clean floors, and the robot back on it’s base charging, and see the trash it picked up through the little peephole. I also linked it to Alexa. Another cool feature is naming the robot. We named ours “Karen”. If you’ve ever watched SpongeBob, you’ll know why. 😀. If an area in your house has an immediate cleaning need, you can say, “Alexa, ask Karen to clean the Kitchen”, then off she goes. Easier than getting a broom or vacuum for sure, and don’t have to leave your couch. Probably not good for exercise, but for someone with mobility issues, I see this as mandatory. It even has a “spot-clean” feature. For high traffic areas that need extra attention, you can select spot-clean on the app, zoom into the area on the map your robot outlined, then off she goes to only clean the section you zoomed in on. Pretty cool. I’ve seen older versions operate, and I was never impressed. I’m glad I took the plunge with this Shark Unit. If you’re on the fence like I was for years, this is your unit (Especially if on sale again). My thought was, if it didn’t get the amount of pet hair I would expect, I would return it. Well, that’s not going to happen. Karen is now part of the family, and we’re considering bringing in a brother or sister to mop the floors. Customer Review: “I really don’t like to vacuum my house. However, this little guy (yes you name it) makes the job more thorough than the job I do manually. I find that I vacuum several times a week, instead of once every two weeks. Once I set it off, it is nice to come home to a clean house, where the wood floors are clean and the carpets look like they have been raked. I can’t believe how much dirt it picks up even after it vacuumed a few days ago. I got it on sale, and I wish I would have gotten this years ago. Customer Review: “For some reason I thought I was getting a slate color based on the photo, but it was actually white- wouldn’t have chosen that color on my own. Works good as far as I can tell. It’s pretty intuitive and has yet to get ‘stuck’. The battery only seems to last the duration the clean (about 65 mins) before draining to 30% and it takes a while to charge back. Not bad if you run it once a day or every other/few days. It does A LOT of movement so I can understand the battery life. The ‘self emptying’ feature is really convenient too. I just needed help keeping up with pet hair and I could have gone with something cheaper, but trusted the Shark brand. I pray it lasts many years. I’ve named her ‘Clean Elizabeth III’”

Customer Review: “This thing is just awesome. I gave her name and some googly eyes, and now she is my official cleaning lady. Does a great job with dog hair which was the main reason for the purpose. I was vacuuming all the time. I have hard floors and 3 dogs one of which is a golden retriever that sheds like crazy. The D20 does really great getting up the pet hair along with other stuff in the floor. I have a couple area rugs as well as thick mats in front of the front and back doors, and she does great on both. I definitely make sure to get up any cables or little things like door stops as she will get caught up from time to time. The app works great and does a good job of sending alerts when there is an issue. It lets you know if it’s hung up on something, stick on an edge and if the cleaners are tangled up underneath along with other things. It’s really easy to flip over and take off the brushes to clean them out and untangle them, and easy to put it all back together. You can also schedule her to clean any time of day / night and customize how it cleans certain areas. I prefer to let her run late at night while me and the dogs are sleeping, and she gets the house done in about 90 minutes and covers a lot of ground. She’s also surprisingly quiet for as much as she is picking up. If I’m already awake, I can hear her start to roll around upstairs. But I’ve never been woken up by her, nor have my dogs. I have never used the mop feature as I bought it only for the vacuuming. From what I’ve read it seems there are better options for mopping. But as far as vacuuming goes I am super happy with her! I was vacuuming 3-4 times a week and would usually mop every other week, if ai could get away with it. Now I vacuum and mop once every two weeks, and Dreame does a wonderful job keeping the place clean in between my bi-weekly cleanings. The D20 was a great purchase and a major time and energy saver for me!”

Customer Review: “This is such a good robot vacuum, I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks so far and it has work really well. It does have a strong suction podwer, cleans really well and mops well enough too. Setting it up was really easy, I only needed to get all the parts out of the box and follow the instructions provided in the box( clear and concise). The only thing I’m not pleased with is the amount of noise it makes, a little too noisy for me but it doesn’t bothers me as much as it would annoy others so keep that in mind if you’re a noise sensitive person though you could probably set it to the lowest suction setting. Device has self empty which I absolutely love and works pretty well, easy to clean and remove debris. Initial mapping worked like described but I advise you to remove everything that could be a temporary obstacle to your device so that the mapping is completely succesful. Price is a little too high compared to other brands I’ve seen around so I would probably advise waiting for a good deal like Black Friday to get yours at a great price.”

Customer Review: “This is my first time using a robot vacuum. I went with Shark because I looove their other cleaning machines that I have owned. I’m impressed with this vacuum. It was very easy to set up using the app. After setup, the first thing you do is to let it map your home. The trick is to move items that can be moved out of its way so it can get a good map of your rooms. While its mapping a room, I move chairs out of that room to another until it’s done mapping then I put them back. It does a decent job of creating a map of your home, and you can let it do it again just in case you’re not pleased with its rendering. While mapping, it is not cleaning so bear that in mind. After it delivers the map to your home, you then move on to labeling each room by dragging a square over each area which tells the vacuum the boundaries of that room. This is great for if you later want to send the vacuum to clean a particular room and not the whole house.For places where I have two rooms in one like my kitchen and dining, I separate the two rooms while labeling rooms on the map because sometimes I want only the kitchen vacuumed and not the dining room. I watch where the vacuum goes to begin its vacuuming just to check if the boundary I created in the map is where I want it. I can go in and adjust it in the map by dragging the square for that room to change it. Make sure your squares connect to the square of the adjoining room because in areas where you do not have a square covering in the map, the vacuum will not go there.All that aside, you can opt to do a regular single-pass vacuuming or a more robust matrix vacuuming where the robot goes horizontal and vertical so every area is cleaned twice. Its suction isn’t bad. I still see little things on the carpet that it misses. It does a great job with corners for its round shape. You can also take it to a spot you want it to clean instead of the whole room. You can also use the map to block out areas you do not ever want it to clean.I have a large home and it saves me so much time keeping the floors and carpet clean. You can schedule it to vacuum whenever you like. Doing it maybe 4 times a week helps a lot and keeps debris down. Sometimes when it goes to unload the debris it gets stuck and you have to manually clear the chute and empty the canister in the garbage instead. That’s not a deal breaker for me.It’s not too quiet but I don’t mind it as it lets me know it is working. My dogs find it fascinating at first, they were a bit scared, but after a little while, they just ignore it as its doing its thing.I find no real issues with this vacuum, it’s electronic and may glitch at times, like going to the wrong room, but I just simply cancel it and start again and it works. I highly recommend this.”

Customer Review: “Update 12/29/2025: if i could give a zero i would!!! ok, the warranty ran out November 2024, the unit has failed. It started to act up a month before the warranty ran out. I cleaned it, new filters, new rollers, did regular maintenance work, it still failed. I was told by a Shark rep after going through the steps to fix , and it can not be fixed. I was offered 30% off buying a new one from Shark! I paid 349 plus tax for a vacuum that only lasted a year with normal daily use in our home!!!! I have had Shark vacuums in the past, with no problems, so i stuck with Shark on the Robo Vac, and that was a big mistake to do so!!!! What a rip off!!!!! Now i am out a vacuum! Back to a broom and dust pan! It does not fail in a year nor cost almost$350!!!!!——————————-OLD review:I did not get the highest model, but being a lover of shark vacuums I did purchased the self cleaning vac mop model to see if i would like a robot vac.All I can say is WOW!!! We have 2 dogs whose job is to shed, 4 cats, a cocatoo, hubby and kids.The first picture is random run, the second was from after returing to dock to empty and then back to point it had stopped at to finish.The 3rd is from a whole house programmed run. 4 rooms, 1 bath and hallway. The last one the pad from cleaning one room with the mop function. That blew my mind, it is not a frequently used room and had been washed a couple days before.Using a broom or cordless stick vac(not Shark, was a bad girl, i can say it will soon be replaced with a Shark version, no more straying from Shark)it looked like i could make a toupee daily!!! This robot vacuum 3 toupees in one cleaning! This was on normal mode, may try matrix next time and see what she finds!!!Love how she mapped the rooms, it was very accurate and let’s you know the size of the rooms, and also the size of cleaning it does.
